What is in store for spring/summer litter possibilities?

Well, I thought I would give a run down of color, size and coat types of the litters I planned for this spring. You can read all about the parents by just clicking the 'Current Breeder' link above.

CAMDEN X JAXON:  Bred - waiting for confirmation. Unfortunately, x-ray shows no puppies. :+(

TILLIE X DUBLIN:  Tillie is pregnant!
The ultra sound indeed shows Tillie has puppies! This litter has the potential to produce reds, apricots and blacks.  I would expect that all the pups will be soft and non-shedding with curls and have some patches of white on them since Tillie is a fully parti patterned Labradoodle.  These markings would be called Abstracts not a Parti pattern.  Placement of white would be on the head, chest, tail, legs and toes. The body of the Labradoodle pup would be solid (like a saddle).  Sizes ranging from 16 inches to possibly 20 inches. Weights will range from 20 to 33 lbs.  List is closed unless she has more than expected.

PEARL X  DUBLIN:  To be mated in early March.
Now this pairing should produce half black pups and half apricot to red puppies. However, depending on how the color genes pair up, it also has the potential to NOT have both colors!  It could be all black or all apricots.  I have learned that surprises happen.  There will be no chocolates, cafes or Lavenders but there could be silvers.  Coats will be non-shedding, soft and curly.  As most of you know, blacks are my favorite color but many people prefer other colors.  Before considering going on this list, you MUST be happy with being matched to a black puppy.  If not, please let me know so I can refer you to other breeders who have what you are seeking.

Just thought some information on these upcoming litters would be welcomed.  :+)  If any of the above is not to your liking, please let me know so that I can help you find what you want through referrals to other breeders.  :+)

I sort of heard good news today.

Tillie's guardian said our girl is extra cuddly, needs constant attention and has swollen nipples.  She also vomited once - these are very good signs!  We are so hoping that puppies are forthcoming in a few weeks.

Waiting is such a chore.

Ho hum.... I know how everyone feels with no newsfeed on the two girls I bred. It seems like this has been such an arduous journey that has lasted for months rather than weeks.

At any rate, I will definitely see Camden by early March and should be able to at least KNOW that she is pregnant.  As soon as she is settled, I will then get an x-ray for a possible puppy count.  Pretty close to the same time, I will do an Ultra Sound on Tillie to see if she could be pregnant.

Not having information to share on these girls is just as hard on me as it is on all the possible puppy owner candidates.  :+(

A saga in the making.

The past two weeks have been frustrating and busy. Breeding Miss Dancing Matilda 'Tillie' really gave us a run for our money but alas on Monday and Tuesday, February 3rd and 4th, we successfully did Artificial Insemination. In about a month's time, we will do an ultra sound to see if puppies are growing. I sure hope so. Tillie was bred to our curly redhead, Dublin. There is a good chance that both black and possibly red-apricot pups with white markings on both colors will be produced. They will be adorable. Both Tillie and Dublin have such sweet personalities. I expect sizes to be roughly 25 to 33 lbs in weight and height to range from 17 to 19 inches.

A video of how flirtatious Tillie was with Dublin should have been made but I forgot my phone.  It was adorable - even the staff at the vets was watching and laughing!

I have looked forward to breeding Tillie for so long and I pray we have been successful.
