We have completed the second round of the Temperament Test. (Jonnie x Hobbs)

Another early day in the car this morning.  Thank goodness, the pups are now doing super well riding in a vehicle.  They were excellent.  :+)

Since I now have to wait for my trainers write ups on each pup, I thought I would share just a few pics of the 'adventure'.

Here we are getting ready for another 3 hour excursion!

Little Gabriel truly enjoyed the room and did not hesitate to meet any of the 'obstacles'.

Bellamy was so brave and did not hesitate to show off on the Wobble Board.

One of the segments includes their first exposure to a harness.  Some pups freeze, while
others are quite tolerant.

Willing to walk and explore different surfaces shows willingness to explore the environment.

There are many segments to these tests and the nuances can be somewhat complicated.  However, your copy of how your pup did is added to your booklet for you and your pup's trainer to absorb and move forward with to make YOUR pup the best it can be.  :+)

We have been 'travelers'!

Each day lately has been an 'adventure'!  Wednesday was the litter's first trip to my trainer for assessments.  The ride is an hour so I was up early so the pups were fed and had time to go potty; then play a bit.  Each pup was then cleaned up for the trip.

Once they were all in the car, we began our trip.  Oi, were they ever vocal!!  This was their first experience as 'older' pups in the car.  Yes, they had an 'imprint' period before they were 10 days old but that is to prevent car sickness.  None of them got sick or even salivated but they let me know that this 'movement' was not appreciated!  It took about a half hour before they all settled down.  Unfortunately, I did not bring any aspirin for me!

My trainer and I decided to divide the litter - four one day and another four a different day because doing eight pups at once is a long, tiring experience for everyone and does no one any good.

Once the first four were done, the trip home was uneventful.  They were all quiet and settled quickly.

Today, all the pups went for their eye exams in Portsmouth, NH.  All packed into my car and all were happy!  No whines or loud vocalizations!  Whoopie!!  All were examined and none had any serious eye issues.  A couple had Epithelials but those 'strands' will be absorbed as they mature.  I was a happy camper!  I had to make a couple of stops on the way home and the pups remained settled.

Now, this does NOT mean they will be all sweet and quiet on their ride home with you.  That experience will be strange to them and they will not have their siblings, so be prepared.  Maybe some earplugs?  Don't forget aspirin!  :+)

Here they all are in the 'carriage' going into the eye vet office!  They were quite excited to be in the fresh air having another adventure.

Tomorrow morning will be the second drive up to my trainer.  All the pups will go as the more rides they have, the better.  :+)

SEVEN WEEKS AND FULL OF SUGAR & SPICE AND TEETH!

Boy oh boy - this group is loving the outdoors, expending lots of energy and sometimes getting into trouble.  As those of you who have visited recently, they have certainly come into themselves - even little Gabe is joining in!

As I mentioned, this coming week is a busy one and it will be interesting on how all the pups do on rides but I will let you know so all of you can be prepared for when they go home.

They are certainly becoming little rascals and they make a racket when it is feeding time!  I have never heard such screeches!!  God Almighty, you would think they were a starved bunch of neglected wild things!  Once done, tails are wagging and smiles emerge.  :+)

Boy was I grateful for today's weather!  That wind the past few days was unbearable!  Here are the pics!

I love the tongue sticking out.

Fun with just enough energy. A sweet girl.

Big, bossy and beautiful.

Willing to be your best friend.

Another gentle charmer with just enough spice.

I am ever grateful for first choice.  :+)

Gabriel is finally coming into his own.  I am so happy.

A armful of happy and friendly energy.

PLEASE READ THE PUPPY PREP LINKS!!!!

Hey everyone getting a pup from the Jonnie x Hobbs litter - do you realize that under the Puppy Prep Link TAB at the top of the Home Page of my website is a plethora of information on supplies, assignments, training, critical stages to watch for and much more???  I specifically have that page as a potential reference for all my customers!  Please use the tools that I have provided as it is a great source of information and covers pretty much all your concerns and questions.  Although I am always available to answer questions, I would truly appreciate you reading my website thoroughly before asking questions my website already answers.  Thank you!  :+)

Ugh. Another yucky day! SIX WEEK PICS TO BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY!!

Although I much prefer taking pics outdoors, today we had to do with the grey skies and chilly, wet weather once again.

On Tuesday, Jonnie went back to her guardian home.  Her fur-buddy, Murphy was so excited to have his 'bossy pants' back home!  Tails were wagging and smiles galore!  :+). I was delighted that everyone was happy and ready to go back to normal life once again.  This was Jonnie's last litter, she is now retired.

You will notice that two of the pups are named.  Gabriel, of course, because I don't know if his small size is simply due to his placental placement in Jonnie's uterus; or if he may have some medical issues.  So he is gifted to our son, Joshua and will remain here at ADNE until tests can be made when he is older.

Also, Teal Collar Girl is now 'BELLAMY'.  I liked her from the moment she was born and so far, she has not disappointed.  Her local guardians were suppose to get a pup from my last litter but I did not keep any of them back. However, Bellamy fits all three of us to a 'T' and she will hopefully become a breeder for ADNE in the future.  :+)

Peach Girl - Friendly, energetic, playful and beautifully marked.

Red Boy - Sweet, cuddly, playful with a touch of independence.

Purple Girl is a lot like Red Boy.  A sweet and gentle nature.

Black Boy is a friendly, happy boy.  Appears very accommodating.

In France, 'Belle Ami' means 'beautiful friend'.  I just Americanized the spelling. :+)

Gabriel has reached 2 lbs.!!  I am beyond excited that he continues to gain.
Although some of his siblings think he is a toy and 'play a bit rough'
with him, I don't let it get out of hand. Gabe tolerates it well.

Friendly, curious and playful.  A great family companion, like the others.

Gentle, friendly with a constant wagging tail.  Handsome, too.

Finally, a pic with ALL of them in it!  Enjoying their outside pen.

Jonnie x Hobbs litter is FIVE WEEKS!

Later in the week, my plan is to have Jonnie weaned and back with her family.  It will totally depend on Jonnie when that day will actually be.

We have had a couple of visits from new owners and more are scheduled for tomorrow.  As you are aware, it is a requirement BEFORE picking up your puppy to visit here!  So, those who have not scheduled a visit yet, need to make an appointment.

The pups are developing in leaps and bounds now.  Even Gabriel has made gains.  Although still the midget in his litter, he does not appear to be less inquisitive or mentally dull.  :+)

I reconfigured their pen this week, as they needed more room.  In good weather with temps in the high 60's, I leave the door open and let them enjoy coming out of the pen and go outdoors to sniff and stretch their legs in the covered alley.  Today, I intend to clean up the outside pen in their playground area and put them out there for stimulation and some real sunshine!  We will ALL enjoy that!

Enjoy the pics!

A sweet, inquisitive guy, Blue Boy entertains himself quite well!

Purple Girl is a gorgeous, independent girl on the quiet side - at least this week!

Okay, I needed to put a 'booster seat' in the basket or we would only see the top of Gabriel's head.
He appears much larger than he is, but trust me, he is a tiny thing.  Bless him, he seems quite
unaffected by being placed in a gently swinging hanging basket.

'Want to play Peek-A-Boo'?  Teal Girl has a soft side to her.

Peach Girl is full of herself!  She is the largest pup still! Has gumption and smarts in spades.

Red Boy appears to be a compliant young man.  Will wrestle but loves to snuggle too.

Black Boy enjoyed his 'arial' view of the driveway.

Can you say 'relaxed'?  Green Boy just sat in the basket and said, 'Cool'.

Animation has begun! Jonnie x Hobbs Litter

Once the fourth week begins, the pups are much more fun to watch and take pics of.  It also is when eating, playing, mingling and drinking water is more enjoyable and obvious.

It was a busy Tuesday this week with the Litz's visiting the pups which the pups thoroughly enjoyed; and later Jonnie's guardian mom came to snuggle with her girl!  Both mom and fur-daughter were in heaven!  It was so heartwarming to watch.  :+)

Then I had a vet appointment for Clary's last litter for ADNE late in the afternoon.  It appears Clary and Hobbs will have a date on Wednesday and Friday according to the progesterone numbers.  They had a lovely litter last time, so it is a repeat.  :+)

Some pics for you to enjoy.

As is typical, the biggest puppy loves to play with the littlest one!

A couple of frames with the litter enjoying lunch.

Gabriel still finds his 'setting' at the table and most of the pups give him space.

'UNCLE', 'I said 'UNCLE'!

When visitors come, they must always mingle with our house doodles first.  Wendy was thrilled
to enjoy both Jonnie and Gunny as they 'sandwiched' her.  :+)

Just a comparison in sizes!

FINALLY! THE FOURTH WEEK - Jonnie x Hobbs

 HAPPY EASTER!

I am always so very happy when the fourth week arrives.  The pups are bigger, sturdier on their feet, welcome gruel and are becoming little doggies.  Their eyes and ears work pretty well now and best of all, they are beginning to wag their tails when they recognize my smell and voice.  It makes me feel like I have done a good job.  :+)

Remarkably, little Brown Boy continues to put on weight very slowly but continuously.  He has also progressed from a bottle to eating gruel like his bigger siblings.  Alas, he is big enough to stand and nurse with his siblings although his little legs are stretched to the limit because Jonnie nurses standing up now.  I am typically there to steady him so it can be a bit more comfortable for him.

The pups continue to use the litterbox most of the time and are beginning to play with each other.  They do a lot of mouth to mouth wrestling and also use their paws for play boxing.  Fun to watch.  :+)

Visits begin soon and a number of you are already scheduled.  Don't expect much as they are still very young and may not be quite ready to be social with you but this is a great way to measure how they develop from week to week.  Wear comfy clothes.  You will have to use my 'disinfecting' mat before entering my home and wash hands before going into the Pup Room.  Masks are not required but I respect your choice to wear one if you choose.  Visits are limited to a half hour with the pups as they have very little stamina at this age.

Naturally, the pup pics this week have an Easter theme.  I hope all of you enjoy this special day with your family and beliefs.

I have discovered using a dark background really works well with dark colored pups and used some of the special effects my camera has.
