Today was Temperament Testing Day!

I was so happy to have a day that was not too hot nor raining!  I was three quarters of the way home when the rain came down but it stopped dramatically by the time I arrived home and brought them inside.  :+)

The trip there and back (one hour each way) was totally pleasant!  Not a one whined or yelled!  Quite unusual, typically there is one that is complaining at least for a little while!  Not this group - totally comfortable in the car with their siblings.  Thank you pups!

There are a number of things my trainer comments on as the pups go through the process.  I will try to explain what she is doing with each photo.

There was some floor washing before I arrived with the pups.  It is NOT urine!

As expected Teal Girl was very confident and had no issues meeting Drake, my trainer's Shepherd.
This test is for confidence and curiosity which Teal has in spades.

Blue was very social.  He enjoyed Drake and would do well with older kids and other dogs.

Pink Girl was the first pup in the room and went right up to Judy for human contact.  She was afraid of Drake so daycare or dog parks are not a good option.  Pink made smart decisions during the course.

Lucie tackled the Wobble Board like a pro and doesn't not mind odd surfaces.  None of the pups did!

Green Boy ran through the texture portion of the tests with gusto!  It included a crunchy bag, a cardboard texture, a metal pan and a plastic sheet.  All the pups did well on this.

Black Girl was totally fine with the 'restraint' portion of the test.
Both Blue and Teal were not as willing.

Brown Collar was great chasing the stuffed toy but not so much the ball.  Oh well.

All in all, the pups did very well and I was so pleased.  It will take several days before I get my trainer's reports.  We ALL need to be patient.  Once received, I will review and make the assignments.  :+)

CLARY X HOBBS LITTER - 7 WEEKS!

I FINALLY was able to get pictures done at a reasonable time today.  :+)

The pups have had lots of visitors (plus the daily visitations from our four grand-daughters) and enjoy every minute of it.  They also LOVE running around the big play-yard and especially digging in the sandbox and woodsy area where they chase each other all over the place.

Sometimes I let Gabriel play with them until he gets too excited.  I then remove Gabe and let the little ones enjoy each other.

The next two weeks are quite busy.  Here is my schedule:

  • July 27 - visitor at 8 am.
  • July 28 - visitor at 10 am.
  • July 29 - Temperament Day - No visitors!
  • July 31 - visitor at 11 am.
  • Aug. 2 - vet visit
  • Aug. 3 - Eye Exams
  • Aug. 4 - vet/Health Certificates
  • Aug. 10th - vet - sterilization and microchips
  • Aug 12 & 13 - Pups go Home!!
Please note:  I have lots of paperwork to prepare for your packets.  I cannot schedule any more visits than what is listed above.

Once I receive the write-ups from my trainer, Judy Moore, I will contact each of you and ask for your pet's name.  I NEED it when I call - not that evening or the next day, so PLEASE take the time now to make your name choices for male or female!

This girl will be added to the ADNE program.  Her name is 'Skip To My 'Lucie'.

It was a hard choice between Lucie and this girl.  :+)

Green Boy is called 'Happy' by my grand daughters.  He is always wagging his tail.

So sweet and gentle - most times!!

Smart, energetic, confident and curious!

'Mr. Blue Eyes' - What's not to love?

A go with the flow kind of guy.  :+)

CLARY X HOBBS LITTER - SIX WEEKS!

Can you imagine...in THREE more weeks, you will have your new puppy for summer entertainment!  Get ready now to puppy proof your house (especially computer wires!), visit training centers, make your appt. with a vet and read the Puppy Prep Links  on my website!  This is the time the weeks fly by!

The litter is enjoying all the attention our four grand-daughters provide but still get plenty of rest too.  The outdoor pen has been great and they will soon enjoy the entire play-yard.  I do expect to introduce our pool to them if the weather warms up.  They seem to all enjoy the large water bowl.
  ðŸ˜˜

It wasn't the most pleasant of days for pics and they just finished eating as well.  You will notice the 'gobblers vs. the more dainty' eaters.

It seems I constantly want to call this girl a MALE!  Gheesh.

Keeping grandkids and puppies entertained.

The pool certainly has been busy the last few days but playing with puppies provides lots of competition to what will be done first.  :+)

Here are some pics of our grandkids and puppies enjoying each other's company.

The pups love the attention as much as the grandkids enjoy holding and playing with them.  :+)

The outside pen.

Today, the pups had their first experience being outdoors in the small puppy pen.  At first, each of them was a bit unsure about where they were but acclimated quickly!  Teal Girl was exploring right away and the rest of the pups followed suit.  :+)

A big bowl of water was placed in the pen and they enjoyed both a bit of sun and some shady spots as well.  I fed them there which was nice and spacious; and they found a cool spot to all curl up in and take a nap.  :+)

Although it was pretty toasty today, the pups were quite comfortable in their cool corner with a wonderful breeze all day long.

I know the pics are late and I can't wait to drag myself to bed!! Weights updated as promised!

We are spending quite a bit of time getting our son's 'fixer upper' home ready for our four grand-daughter's summer vacation here in Maine.  Long days and lots of muscle use!

Tomorrow they will arrive and chaos begins!!  :+)

Green Collar Male is our biggest pup weighing in at 4 1/4 lbs.

Teal Collar Girl is our smallest female so far.  She weighs 3 1/8 lbs.

Pink Collar Girl weight 3 3/4 lbs. this week.

Little Brown Collar Boy is our smallest pup in the litter.  He weighs 2 3/4 lbs.

Black Collar Girl is 3 1/4 lbs.

Blue Collar Boy is 3 3/4 lbs.

Red Collar Boy weighs 3 3/4 lbs.

Our four grand-daughters are now visiting with us until the end of August.  Busy days ahead but you can be assured that this litter will be kid proof!  They ADORE pups and are very responsible with them.

My favorite time: FOUR WEEKS! (Clary x Hobbs Litter) Visits are encouraged!

The fourth week is so much fun.  The pups now engage with each other.  Their eyes are open and focused; and hearing, as well as 'talking', abounds. They LOVE wrestling, mouthing and moving about in their pen.  The 'neonates' have evolved into wee puppies and are fun to watch.

They also eat gruel very well and drink water!  Yea!  Clary is happy to not shoulder the entire load and looks upon me with glee as I clean the potty box.  Yes, the pups are beginning to use it pretty well - lots of mistakes still happen but that is normal and expected.  It won't take long for them to use it 100% of the time.

I expect in another week, they will be spending time outside in the small pup pen and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

Happily, Clary lives close by and her guardian has been coming to pick her up for a couple of hours of family time often.  This is wonderful for Clary and her family.  Clary will be ready to go home permanently in about another week.  :+)

Today's picture segment is 'A drive in the convertible'.

Black Girl weighs 2 1/2 lbs.

Green Boy weighs 3 1/2 lbs.

Brown Boy weighs2 1/4 lbs.

Teal Girl weighs 2 3/4 lbs.

Blue Boy weighs 3 lbs.

Pink Girl tips the scales at 3 1/4 lbs.

Red Girl is also a chunker at 3 1/4 lbs.

Happily engaging with each other in their pen:
