DIESEL & SHILO go to their new homes today!

It was a delightful ride to Diesel's new home this morning.  Although it was sprinkling slightly, I barely had to use my wipers.  Down a nice long driveway we went until we came upon his new home - such space to run and play!!  Diesel is going to have a ball running around there.  :+)

Diesel immediately started smelling everywhere in his new house and said 'Hello' to Sophie, the senior house dog who is a Che weenie (Dachhound x Chihuahua).  Diesel was respectful.  Teri and I talked for a bit and Diesel went outdoors a couple of times for potty.  Finally, I left and now I pray all goes well with him adjusting.  It will take a few days.

Teri with Diesel.  :+)

Later in the afternoon, Christy came by to pick up Shilo.  We went over the paperwork, Shilo went outdoors with the adult doodles and then we packed her up for her trip home.  I am told she has a number of people dying to meet her!

She too, has an amazing home(s) one with acreage and then a cottage at the lake for paddle boarding - a favorite past time of hers.   What a life!

I am thrilled with both these placements and I just know their new families will enjoy them for many years to come.  Of course you can call or email me any time for questions.  Service does not end after the sale you know!!  :+)

DIESEL! UPDATE: WE HAVE A GUARDIAN HOME FOR DIESEL!!!!

Yes, this boy is still with us.  I keep hoping that a local guardian home may present themselves, but so far - no takers!

Diesel is such a love - a calm, happy pup who LOVES to eat.  Will do just about anything for a bit of food.  He really is calm - I am not kidding.  He gives soft kisses, loves cuddles, is NOT a barker at all and is very good on a leash.  He whimpers for about three minutes when in the car and then just relaxes.  Diesel is one rugged boy and should be about 30 lbs. and maybe 17 inches.  Kind of like a cement block.  :+)

Always sits when asked. He was just trimmed in this pic.

Never complains when placed in his safe zone for a couple of  hours.

A sweet gentle face.  Diesel is truly a mini Lab with a soft, silky, non shedding coat.
If you would truly enjoy having a wonderful stud as your pet, please let me know by replying here or send me an email.  Information on how to contact me is on the bottom of each page of the website.  Just remember, I need a guardian home for Diesel within an hour of either my vet in Rochester, NH or me in North Berwick, Maine.  Dog experience is a must and so is dog training.  Although Diesel is already trained in the basics (sit, come, down, walks on loose leash), training creates wonderful bonding and that is good for both of you.  :+)

To my great happiness, the Cormiers of Rochester, NH will be welcoming ADNE vin Diesel to their home soon.  I can't wait to take a pic of this couple with this charming guy.  WAHOO!  :+)

HOORAY! SHILO HAS A NEW HOME!!

First, I would like to thank my breeder friend, Mary Pat of Nestlewood Labradoodles for posting about her on her Facebook Page.  A wonderful couple saw it and contacted me.

Christy and Tom came to visit Shilo last Friday and claimed that she was exactly what they were looking for and it was obvious Shilo felt the same way.  I waited a long time and it certainly paid off. Shilo and her new owners are a perfect fit and I know she will be loved, spoiled and trained well.

I will post a pic when she is picked up on Tuesday, October 29th.

--------------------------

On a different note, the storm here last Wednesday did a number here at ADNE.  A huge old pine tree fell in our front yard and just missed our home by ten feet!!  I never heard it fall and it was over 80 feet tall!  The wind and rain was so intense I did not know until I looked out my window the next morning.  Imagine my surprise!  My first thought was - Thank GOD it missed the house!  Also, the way it fell was not across my driveway but along the side of it crushing our fence for the doodles on that side.  So, lots of wood to be cut up, branches to be removed and debris to be raked and removed.  It will take my husband the rest of this week to clean it up then the poor man needs to re-do our fence.  I sure hope he enjoyed his trip to New Orleans while all this happened.  He is sure paying for it now!  Oi.  Here are a couple of pics.

Today, I gave Shilo a bath and a slight trim.

What a delight!  Not too many people can say that about bathing and drying a dog!  I knew Shilo loved water and she was sooooo good about letting me spray all over.  The soap didn't bother her at all (tear free, of course!) and she enjoyed the rubbing and rinsing.  What really surprised me was the hair dryer!  She was not concerned about all the air and blowing at all - even when I did her face - she rather enjoyed the warm blowing air.  :+)

After the slight trim (well behaved), bath and blowing out her coat, she went outdoors to run around and shake her pretty curls back into place.

Yes, she still enjoys this fluffy toy!  :+). Love the bit of sun that makes her coat sparkle!

The concerns I have on many Vet approved Flea & Tick meds. Please read.

I understand why many of you want to use the many products sold at your vets for flea and tick or heartworm management.  I certainly get that you don't want these 'suckers' in your home BUT at what cost?

There are many very safe products on the market that you can use and if you are diligent about checking your companion every day as you watch tv or read a book, your fur friend will be a healthier and happier doodle.  Take the time to read this FDA link on some of the products pushed by vets.

https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/animal-health-literacy/fact-sheet-pet-owners-and-veterinarians-about-potential-adverse-events-associated-isoxazoline-flea

This is a list of other products considered SAFE with far less possible side affects.  (List Provided by another Labradoodle Breeder - Rose O'Driscoll.)  Many thanks Rose!!

Advocate, Advantage, Stronghold, Milbamax and Drontal.  If you would prefer using a jacket type dog vest, I suggest NoFlyDesigns.com which is great for walks, hiking, swimming or hunting.  It is bright green or orange and very lightweight.  Cleans easily.  Wondercide Spray is also very good and what I use on myself, my doodles and in my yard.  Just Google the name and you will be provided with much information.  :+)  A little bit of maintenance done each day will ensure that your pet will be free of ticks - keep a small container with some alcohol in it to put those icky critters in and add years to your pet's life; keep his immune system strong; and take a load off his poor kidneys who have to filter those chemicals out of their body.

Many customers ask why I don't trust vets.  I do in many, many cases.  However, I also know there are other methods for preventing or minimizing bug/worm infestations.  Think outside the box and look for alternatives.  Yes, it is very easy to put a drop on their neck or hind quarters or clip on a collar but KNOW what these chemicals do to their body.  If it kills ticks or fleas, what else is that chemical affecting on your doodle?  The product does NOT stop at the bugs' death - it lingers one the skin layer and some even enter the bloodstream.  Think about that.  This is why there is a warning label on each package to NOT allow children to touch the product(s).  The above link from the FDA may help answer some of those concerns.  Please read and open your mind to other more safe products for you, your children and most of all your pet!  Thanks for reading.

We are in the Halloween spirit!

I was doing some decorating outdoors and decided to add Shilo to my decor.  She was a great model!

I LOVE this little hat and it fit her perfectly.  The 'pumpkin man' was able to give her a little hug and she did not mind at all.  BOO!!

SHILO is ready for a loving home.

The little girl is chock full of personality.  Shilo needs an owner who has experience with dogs.  She loves to play tug, ball, chase, 'find it' and does really well with a confident owner.  Sadly, Shilo is too smart to be with a first time dog owner.

Hey...what do you have there?

Her 'phantom patterned' coat is silky and non-shedding with some curls.  She is active but not hyper.  Shilo would very much enjoy a family with children over 8 years of age that are dog experienced and respect animals.  She also likes cats.

Oh, this is a cool toy.
I want to place Shilo in a situation where there is someone home most of the day.  Someone who works from home would be perfect or some active retirees who enjoy the outdoors in a social community as Shilo loves meeting new people - literally, she licks them to death!  Then wiggles out of their lap to invite a game of ball or to chase herself.

Can I pretty please have that toy back?

I will promise to be very good, honest.
In the evening, Shilo enjoys getting her belly rubbed while watching tv.  :+) Shilo is up to date on all her vaccines, spayed, sleeps in her crate until about 7 am without any fussing.

Thanks so much, this is such a fun toy.  :+)
