BELLAMY X DUCKIE LITTER - FOUR WEEKS!

This is typically the week of many changes!  The pups now 'walk', play, eat and wrestle...sort of.  :+) I am now preparing a milk gruel that includes Goat's Milk, Gerber Rice Cereal and Beech Nut infant meat for their meals.  Yes, they still drink from Bellamy but we are now on the track to weaning the litter from her.  In a few more days, I will introduce a mix with kibble that is finely ground up to their milk mix and finally just plain FROMM GOLD PUPPY kibble later on.

Since the weather will be quite warm for a couple of days, I will clean up the outdoor pup pen and give them some outside time.  They typically love this new adventure.

A BIG change is this is the beginning of VISITS!  All those who have paid or sent in a deposit are now welcome to call or email me a day and time to meet their potential family addition!  Be aware no visits before 11 am and they only last for a half hour.  At this stage, pups tire very easily and they are still 'babies'.  So I hope to hear from you to set up dates and times.  :+)

I look forward to hearing from you all very soon to schedule your visits! Joyce

BELLAMY X DUCKIE - THREE WEEKS and ALL SOLD!

Apologies for the late posting - very busy day today!

The pups are doing great!  They have been moved to the Puppy Room where there is sunshine, open windows for a breeze and a bit more room.  They are beginning to want to play with the little baby toys I hung on the pen and each other.  Bellamy continues to take very good care of them and I have also introduced a milk mixture to them.  They are not gobbling it up yet but are showing interest.  Give it a few more days and it will disappear quickly!

Without any further ado:

The cutest 'flower' in the pot!

What happened to my 'bedroom'?

I am comfortable lounging here.

Tell me please, who is cuter me or those pansies?

What an adorable profile, right?

I am hanging on for dear life!

Our new bedroom is really nice and comfy

The pups' eyes are still adjusting which is why some of them appear to have a bluish cast to them. It takes about a good week before they truly clear.  The biggest pup (Red Girl) is quite a hunk-a-chunk but today I actually saw her life off her butt and walk a bit! As she grows she will lose some of that baby fat!  The smallest pup is Navy Boy and he always seems to find a snuggly spot to sleep - either a corner or one of his siblings to cuddle with.  :+)

This week they will begin to really enjoy their milk mix and maybe Bellamy will have some relief from all the feedings.

Visits will begin in about another week, so stay tuned!  :+)

WEEK TWO - Bellamy x Duckie!

Pups continue to gain weight and also squirm about quite a bit.  I don't know if Bellamy is trying to tell me something but...this morning I found her with TWO of the pups living in 'separate quarters'.  Somehow, she took two out of the whelping box and left the rest in.  Maybe she didn't quite finish her intentions when I got up and stopped the 'move'.  Who knows??!!  Maybe Bellamy is telling me that it is time for all of them to be in the Puppy Room!  One more day, Bella - the last of Phoebe's pups will go to her new home and you will have your new quarters.  :+)

My husband is having some minor surgery tomorrow, so I decided to post their 'two' week pics a day early. I hope no one minds.  :+)

LUNCH TIME AT ADNE! Also the ASSIGNMENT LIST!

The litter has been eating outdoors most of the time when the weather is good.  They enjoy the fresh air and going potty outside is very enticing right after lunch.  :+)

Starting from the lower left with Hattie moving right to Nova, Baxter, Auggie, Toby Clyde, Bella and lastly Teal Girl (available).

ASSIGNMENTS:

  • Black Girl is now HATTIE.
  • Ruby Girl is NOVA
  • Orange Boy is BAXTER
  • Brown Boy is AUGGIE
  • Blue Boy is TOBY
  • Green Boy is CLYDE
  • Lilac Girl is BELLA
  • Teal Girl is not sold yet.

TEAL COLLAR GIRL IS AVAILABLE!!!

Man, it has been a long couple of days as I have been assigning pups to my applicants.  After all is said and done and confirmed Teal is available!

All along I had two pups that were not reserved but I didn't know which ones until my trainer did the Temperament Testing and I had the results.  In the meantime, I did get another applicant and now have Miss Teal.

In the perfect world, an active family would suit her best.  She is social, confident and playful.  She does enjoy chasing things ... ball, toys, perhaps squirrels????  She enjoys chewing her toys and will entertain herself with them.  She is also tolerant and enjoys petting.  Teal loves to smell things and will use that strong sense of smell to investigate where it is coming from, so obedience classes are a must with continued re-enforcement at home.

Teal enjoys a good belly rub too!

Those interested, please send in an application from our website.  Thanks.

THIS IS A LONG SHOT....UPDATED - Beatrix has a loving home! Whoopie!

UPDATE:  IN A LOVING HOME!  Unfortunately, today I received a phone call from the brother of one of my early buyers of a doodle.  She is in the hospital but is not doing well.  :+(. Her wish?  Her beloved elderly doodle needs to be placed in a loving home who will love her 'till the end'.  There are more details and I would share them with you if anyone should show interest.

This is kind of like a 'hospice' request.  Maybe there is someone out there that just wants a buddy to share their day with.  The lady doodle still walks, etc. but there is a bit of senior incontinence, loss of eyesight and hearing but you would not need to worry about any costs.  Those are in the details.  Anyone need a friend?  It would certainly ease the owners pain to know there is some kindness, patience and love to share with her beloved companion until, she too, is called by her maker.  Thank you.

PHOEBE X DIESEL LITTER OWNERS!

Before I can list the assignments here, I need to have the name of your pup!  It is critical as there are lots of paperwork I must complete for my vet, their pedigree, microchip and the Data Sheet!  I need this info by tonight as I must work on this stuff tomorrow to have your 'packets' complete.  PLEASE!  I posted here because some of you miss my emails.  :+)

WEEK 8 OF THE PHOEBE X DIESEL LITTER!

The sun is out!  Can you believe it???

I had set up my rocking chair outdoors  to take pics as there were breaks of blue in the sky this morning but none of the shots came out well - as I forget to take my setting off of 'sport'.  :+( :+(.  I had company for a bit, so after having a nice chat set my sights back onto getting the pics done.  By then, there was MORE sun and I decided to use a hanging basket instead.

The pups are getting so big and they LOVE mud!  With days and days of showers, rain, storms and what not, I had fenced off the area where they could dig in the pine needles and sandbox.  However, the little stinkers dug under a soggy area and happily continued digging and enjoying splattering mud everywhere.  So...I had to wait a bit longer for them to be cleaned up and somewhat dry before moving on to pictures.   Thank goodness for the sunshine.  It really helped my attitude after cleaning all those paws!!!  :+)

Ruby Girl - Such wonderful eye contact. Loves to be held and cuddled with.
A 'welcome wagon' sort of girl that enjoys people and other friendly dogs.

Orange Boy - His coat is like rabbit fur - amazingly soft.  He has gorgeous 'human' like eyes and a less energetic personality.  Happy to be on a lap but loves to use his nose too - tracking??.
Would enjoy another fur-buddy.

Green Boy - so sweet and easy going.  Would love to be a friend to an older dog.
He does like to retrieve but then would like a long nap afterwards!!

Teal Girl has an agenda!  A mind of her own that would do very well with an experienced and
active home. Very food motivated and loves tug!  This girl is no couch potato!

Yawn.  Can I have another beer??  A passive boy that would do well in a quieter home.
He is food motivated so greeting new people with them giving him treats would be a plus.
He is most comfortable with his own people but very gentle and sweet.

Black Girl likes other friendly dogs and gentle people.  She loves to explore with her mouth so toys and treats will be needed for training and redirection.  She is a tail wagger and curious but at her own pace.  She is resilient and a bit passive, so no dog parks where she could be intimidated!!

Lilac Girl is simply a piece of divine chocolate.  Sweet and 'melts in your arms'.  BUT she is no push over!  Holds her own and gives back in spades!  She is patient and willing to work for treats.  A home that can provide solid training and not melt when she looks at you would be best. :+)

Brown Boy or should I call him 'mud muck'!  Highly social and would love a home with kids  (or active adults) who would enjoy doing some nose work, tracking or retrieving.  Think of him as the MVP of the football team - he has it all including lots of confidence.  An inquisitive mind, too.

Hopefully, meeting on Saturday, May13th for pick up works for all of you.  Please let me know if that time is an issue. Thanks.

BELLAMY X DUCKIE PUPS AT A DAY OLD.

Not the best pic but trying to hold the camera and keep them from climbing over and under each other is NOT an easy feat!  Anyway, it is just for those on her list to get a peek. :+)

All the apricots you see above could also be Caramels.  The color of their noses will
determine that in a couple of weeks.  Caramels must have liver pigmented noses and hazel eyes -
while Apricots should have black pigment and brown eyes.

There is one solid black and the other dark pup is a Black and Tan Phantom.

They are adorable and nursing well. Bellamy is a good mommy.

Whew! TEMPERAMENT TESTING WENT WELL!

A very busy morning that I am so happy is over with!  So, so thankful that Bellamy was not ready to deliver pups and that hubby could be around if it did happen.  My prayers were answered.  :+)

The pups did rather well in the hours long ride with minimal vocalization and lots of curiosity looking out my back window.  The people driving behind me - I am sure, had lots of smiles.  None had car sickness or potty messes.

I should have reports, I hope, by the end of the week.

Here they are packed once again for the ride home.  :+) We did have some rain but not any rainstorms which was awesome as well.  The whole day was full of small miracles.  :+)

Happy to be done with the sessions and on our way home for lunch!
They were very interested in my trainer's very gentle German Shepherd.
You can see Orange Boy squished between Brown and Lilac.  Amazing I got all 8 in the pic!
