We are on our way to 'Dance With A Cowboy'! (UPDATE)

Olive has a date this afternoon and we will stay a few days in Connecticut to hopefully have a successful mating with her beau, Cowboy, whose 'stats' are listed below.

I used Cowboy with Clara Belle and had such a lovely litter of pups which included Tate O'Reilly - the pup I kept from that mating and she is a stunner.  I am hoping to keep a lovely black girl from Olive's litter if she produces one.  I know it is early but I will be searching for a guardian home for this potential girl.  I expect soft, wavy fleece coated pups in the small to medium range if the breeding goes well.

Olive (Clara Belle's full littermate sister) is a sweet girl who loves to sit on your lap when you are on the floor.  If she can't get close enough, she uses her paws to hug you and reaches up for kisses.  Olive is also the Mother of Holiday Figgy Puddin` on our Current Breeder's Page.  Another show stopper!

Thankfully, Cowboy and Olive were a perfect match for each other!  The 'dates' went smoothly with each having big smiles on their faces when all was said and done.  Let us keep our fingers crossed that we have good news in about a month that the matings were successful.  :+)

What can we say, Cowboy is just stunning!  He comes to us   from Spring Creek Labradoodles and is one amazing dog.  His deep red fleecy  coat, along with his calm, gentle and cuddly nature are just the beginning of   his attributes.  He has magnificent boning, fantastic head and ear set, and an  easy going temperament.  Thank you Rochelle for such a wonderful guy!  Cowboy  lives with his guardian family who take him everywhere and just love him to   pieces!

  1. Those should be gorgeous coats. Tate's is fabulous. Hope you get your blacks. Totally unrelated to this topic, other than dog related....My parents said that their dogs used to eat corn on the cob directly off the cob. Felix had been stealing the unshucked ears from me when I was trying to shuck it tonight and did not want to give them up. He acted like they were a treasured bone. He loved eating the corn directly off the cob and my paren't dog was sharing the same ear of corn with him. It was really comical. They do love their veggies, probably because of the wonderful organic diet that the fabulous breeder started them out on.

  2. The description of Olive on the floor looking for love fits our Miss Molly to a T. She is the most affectionate pup ever and she looks just like her mother. What a beautiful shiny flowing coat.

  3. @Deb, we had a black lab many years ago who used to LOVE corn on the cob. He would lie down and hold it in his paws and eat it until it was picked clean. I've never had another dog who wanted to do that. And yes, it was really comical, because he was so human-like in how he consumed it! Our Doodle, Albert, hasn't shown the same enthusiasm for corn, but when I'm peeling carrots, he won't leave my side, hoping I'll drop a nice big piece for him to nab. His craziest food thing, though, is popcorn. We have an air popper, and as soon as he hears it start, he comes running into the kitchen, waiting for the stray pieces that fly out of the machine toward the floor, doing his best to catch them mid-air. Sometimes we pop popcorn just because Albert loves it so much, and it's so funny watching him dive for the flying pieces!

    1. Kelly-That sounds really comical. These labradoodles are so entertaining. So many smiles every day. They are just so endearing. Felix does the same thing with carrots. He just loves them too. Who are Albert's parents? Were they from the same litter? Felix came from Olive and Chico. Hope you are able to make it to the next Doodle Romp. It is fun to see all of these doodles. They are all so sweet. It was great to see so many of them all getting along so well.

    2. Deb, Albert's parents are Clara Belle and Clifford, born 11/30/2010. He is such a good, funny dog! I've really come to feel that, for us anyway, Doodles are the perfect dog - they're just the complete package of smarts and personality.

We're down in NJ, so the romps are a bit of a drive for us. With enough notice and some fancy planning, though, we might make it to one of them!

    3. Love reading your 'conversations'. :+) Clara Belle and Olive are littermate sisters, so your furry babies are half brothers, I believe. Both Olive and Clara Belle were mated to Chico to produce your pups. :+)

    4. Albert is from Clara Belle and Clifford, at least that's what his papers say lol! Joyce, someone should put together a "family tree" for your breeding gals and guys. It would be fun to see who "dated" whom, and what pups were born, and where they went. And no, I'm not volunteering lol!

    5. Ha! I stand corrected!!! :+) Felix has Olive for a mom and Albert has Clara for a mom and they are littermate sisters. As corrected, they have different fathers (sires). I have to stop naming doodles with their first letter being a 'C' as they are much too close together in my files!!

    6. So many good "C" names, though! Lila still wants a pup from Olive. It's a love that will never die :-)

    7. It is funny to read this from a human perspective as one would think that they are all quite promiscuous. It is always so funny to read about all of their escapades. We had to have corn again tonight for the comical value anyway. Always lots of laughs with these dogs. I love Felix's head tilt that he got from Olive. He is so intent when you are having a conversation with him and he will tilt his head from side to side. Sign up now to get your pup from Olive's next litter Lila!!! Haha. She is a great Mom and dog as all of Joyces dogs are! All of your names are fabulous Joyce!
