After an evening of cuddling with Olive on the couch cushions spread on the office floor, her fur-babies arrived as the sun shone brightly on a marvelous early fall morning.
Here are the stats on each one as they came into the world:
- Purple girl, who is wearing a lavender ribbon, arrived at 8 AM weighing 10.4 ozs.
- Teal Girl arrived promptly five minutes after Purple at 8:05 AM and weighs 10.4 ozs.
- Orange Girl entered at 8:32 AM weighing a hefty 12.4 ozs.
- Red Boy showed up at 9:10 AM and weighed 11 ozs.
- Black Girl had an interesting arrival - outside at 9:49 AM! Olive thought she had to poop and that just was not so! I ran out the door with a towel and guided Olive (with pup still attached!) back into the whelping area. She weighs 11.8 ozs.
- Green Boy, born at 10:40 AM, had a similar experience to Black Girl. Olive did not want to disturb her previous babies beauty sleep, so very gently got out of the whelping pool and had him on the office floor. :+( He weighed 11.8 ozs. as well.
So far all are doing very well and I know Olive and I will look forward to a good night's sleep. At least I don't have to nurse all night. :+)
What a gorgeous litter! Thank you for keeping us posted, and congratulations -- Olive looks lovely considering she just went through labor :-)
ReplyDeleteOlive is a love. She must be bursting at the seams but still has not left her babies to go out to relieve herself. Such a doting mom. :+)
ReplyDeleteOh, they are so cute! I had to do a double-take at the photo above. It took me a moment to realize the pups were straddling Olive's front leg! That looked like the furriest little newborn doodle I'd ever seen lol! She looks so happy, and so relieved. What a good mama!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Olive and Joyce. It's always fun to watch ADNE babies on the Annablog. Stella sends her love (and lots of doggie kisses). She reminds us of Olive in the kissing department. Enjoy a good nights sleep and the babies. Diane and Roger and Stella
ReplyDeleteHi Stella and parents! It feels good to have babies in the house again. I love doggie kisses and Olive (and Stella, it seems) love giving them.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on another gorgeous litter. Outside... Wow! Olive looks stunning and happy as ever. What a team you are! Now we all get to watch the little furballs grow. Yay! So glad to see a little black one!
ReplyDeleteYes, outside - always a new experience around here! I was so happy it was not in the snow, rain or cold. When it is dark and nasty, I am always out with them the 50 plus times they feel they need to go in the 24 hours before actual contractions. It really is miserable. Olive is such a whimpy momma's girl, I knew she would not travel away too far and she didn't - just arched her back and voila! It is very difficult for them to separate 'pressure' for pooping from an immenient delivery. I was watching the whole time and as soon as I saw her back arch, I knew and went running for the towel! Keeps me on my toes. :+)
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce and Olive! Congratulations on another gorgeous litter. The girls and I are so excited to be able to watch another beautiful family of puppies on the Annablog! Brewster sends a big puppy kiss to everyone! Amy:-)
