Today marks the litter's third full day of life and that means time to start ES & N. This is a very gentle series of positions that each pup will go through that improves heart rate and adrenal glands. An addtional benefit is pups have more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease. I will do these exercises for sixteen days. As the pups grow during this phase, some will show more resistance to the testing by squirming and vocalizing their protest to being held belly up or head down towards the floor. It is all normal.
I am also happy to report that all pups have surpassed their birth weight and some are almost a pound already! Both black males are chunky as heck. Their black sister is catching up but will not be the size of her brothers.
Here is an 'arial' view of the litter this morning!
What a gorgeous bunch of pups. I will especially love watching the little black ones grow.
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture Joyce! Love the updates. Looking forward to watching these rascals grow!
ReplyDeleteKeep watching! This is the only place right now, that I can share what is going on here. Right now they are squawking. No matter what litter or how many there are - always one or two fighting for the same nipple - and there is one for each of them! :+)
ReplyDeleteI love following their development...as if they were my “own”!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to have any of these go to guardian homes?
