Here is Olive and ARI's litter of cutie pies. :+)

It certainly was a LONG day and night of panting and pressure and the weather was not cooperating at all.

Olive constantly had to go out because of the pressure and made a mess of the whelping box bedding.  I could not have her whelp in dampness, so constant changing was my protocol for the day and night.  I have finally caught up with the laundry.  :+)  I WILL catch up on my sleep but I know how anxious everyone has been about seeing the litter so priorities first!

One pup is available in this litter.

Here are the little darlings slurping up Olive's warm, nutritious milk and being quite content.  They had a good night...well let's just say they settled in nicely once born.

This cream colored charmer is the only boy in the group.  He arrived at 2:40 AM and was the second one delivered.   He will be identified by his Black Ribbon.   11 & 1/2 oz.

This shiny black pup is Red Ribbon Girl and was the last one born at 4:40 AM.  She weighed in at 11 & 1/2 oz.

This pretty light apricot girl was the firstborn at 2:10 AM.  She weighed in at 11 & 1/2 oz.   She will be known as Teal Ribbon Girl.

Another black beauty, Pink Ribbon Girl was the third pup born and arrived at 3:55 AM.  She is the biggest pup at 13 oz.

YES! Olive's pups have arrived!

It was an all nighter but all is well.  Olive had four pups from 2:10 AM to 4:40 AM and all are resting.  I shall do the same and then get some pics up for everyone.  She had three females and one male.  Two black females, one cream male and one apricot female.  :+)

Our third week of growing up!

We have had a very busy week.  You will notice that I added another potty box, so now there are two.  Bedding is changed daily so I get to do lots more laundry.  I added a small high sided bed because the pups are loving to climb on soft things and snuggle as you will see.

The potty boxes are being used regularly.  As is typical, mistakes still occur but I think they are doing a wonderful job!
Notice the two in the small bed?

This week their meals include ground raw chicken (no bones) mixed with organic yogurt and goat's milk.  They are eating well and still nurse from mommy, Clara. Each week, I will introduce something else in their menu to expand their palates.

Yellow in front, Purple in back.

I go in the pen several times a day just to sit and cuddle with them.  They wag their tails when they hear my voice and others make a little growl until they realize it is me.  I find it so intriguing that such youngsters already know to 'utter a warning' -  instincts are remarkable!

After eating they wrestle and play more and more.  After a full belly, a bit of play time and a potty break, they settle for another long nap.

Green Boy and Viva

I love the fact that everyone has totally accepted Viva.  She is played with and handled the same as all her adopted siblings.  Viva, I am told, has a family anxiously waiting to bring her into their home at the appropriate time.  She will be a wonderful family addition.

Some birthday news for one of our past litters today!

A picture of lovely Stella from Maple Sugar and Rumple's litter of this same day two years ago served as a reminder!

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Stella, Riley, Emme, Reuben, Finley and Seamus!  I am sure all your owners have planned something special for all of you today.

Won't it be something if Olive's litter arrives on this day as well?  Keeping my fingers crossed that it does.

Be well and have a wonderful day!

I just received this adorable pic of Finley!  I believe she has celebrated her birthday in fine style!  Just love the fluffy  birthday hat!!!  :+)

Olive is relaxing ......

Good Morning!

Last night, Olive went out to potty several times and has been 'seeking' a quiet place this morning.  Finally, sighs of her impending whelping!!

I now have her in the whelping box listening to John Morgan's tape of hypnotic relaxation to help her body 'relax and calm down'.

I can hardly wait to see what she will deliver.  I know all of you are on pins and needles as well.  :+)  This will be the first time ever a calendar due date is actually the day of delivery for one of my doodles.

On the subject of knowing how to relax......

We all know how important it is to pamper ourselves every now and again.  It is important to our well being and should be practiced for rejuvenation of both mind and body.

Dancing Matilda, lovingly nicknamed 'Tillie' displays to all the perfect pose for this to be most beneficial.  I am sure there will be many more belly rubs for this adorable breeding girl when she is pregnant for the first time.  It appears both of them have the practice down pat.  :+)
