A cute pic of our stud CHICO!
Hi!
I know that Cadbury's litter is the focus of this AnnaBlog right now, but I just cannot resist posting this pic of our guy 'CHICO'. He has such a silky, easy care coat and I am so looking forward to when he and Olive mate. Those pups should have such scrumptious wavy coats that will look good with just routine brushing.
Chico is a borderline mini stud. He is just a smidgen over 17 inches with excellent boning and build.
We look forward to the pups that Olive and he will produce sometime this year.

I love both his and Olive's coats. Will any of Maple Sugars' pups have this type of coat?
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce,
ReplyDeleteLexi would like to say Happy Valentines Day to her Daddy! XO I think she is going to look just like him, actually she already does. Her coat puts GUND bears to shame! :) We really love her she already minds better than my kids...shhh don't tell them!
My plan is to breed Olive with Chico and those pups should have amazing coats. But I need to caution you - this type of coat can shed slightly! Chico does not shed but when I sweep my floors, I do find some of Olive's black hairs. No hairs on the furniture or on your hands when you pat her but I believe in full disclosure and would never claim that breeding to produce totally non-shedding dogs. On the bright side, they are wonderful to groom and require fewer haircuts to keep them looking great. :+)
ReplyDeleteHi Jill!
ReplyDeleteYes, I felt that Lexi would have a coat very similar to his - that whole litter had wonderful coats and beautiful heads. Smart? Naaaaa... must be your imagination. :+) :+)
Re: Maple x Rumple litter
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't believe they will. However, this will be their first pairing together and Rumple has a lovely non-shedding, slightly wavy fleece coat. It will depend on how strong each dog's genes are and which one will dominate the litter. With the Maple x Coriander mating, all the pups ended up with Maple's curly coat even though Coriander's coat is quite straight! She has strong genetics!
Mother Nature is in charge of all Labradoodle coat types!!!! All I can do is watch to see what develops as they grow.
Skidder also looks like a Gund and has a coat similar to Dad's. Thanks for posting the picture! Skidder is 13 pounds now and keeps us entertained. She wanted to play with a Great Dane at the Vet's this week. Not shy and very smart! Take care.
ReplyDeleteI finally get off crutches next week but the kids have been doing a great job! :)
Great to hear that Skidder is doing well. No, that girl was never shy at all and I knew she had an inquisitive spirit. Hopefully, she and Isis are doing well together.
ReplyDeleteKudos to your children for taking charge. :+) I bet you just can't wait to be 'free' again. :+)
