Chaplin weighs a solid 18 lbs. and is 15 inches tall at 7 months old. He will be a true mini size and has excellent boning and structure. Chaplin is a wonderful combination of Miniature Poodle, Labrador and Spaniel genetics. Poodle genes gave him intelligence and a non-shedding coat; the Spaniel produced his silky curls and sturdy boning; and the sweet Labrador his gentle, endearing temperament. I hope you can understand why I am so 'over the moon' about this boy and am looking for a wonderful home for him.
I am so delighted with his confirmation. This shot shows his great top line and tail set. His legs are not short like some miniatures. They balance his body perfectly. A bonus - he loves the water!
I did comb him just before I took these pics and you can see the flow his coat has. Nary a hair came out of this boy - a true non shedding, curling fleece coat.
Chaplin's physical appearance appealed to me immediately. With his fabulous early test scores, I am beyond pleased. To find him the perfect local guardian home that has a fence and children would really be the icing on the cake. Chaplin is very friendly towards other doggies. He has not seen a cat yet, so I have no idea if he could live with one.
He is just gorgeous! I love his proportions and his conformation. And his tail. And his coat. And everything else.
ReplyDeleteIt is obvious we think alike! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I ever saw a side shot of him before. Yes, I really do like the proportion of his legs to his body. I don't like short legs very much. He has a nice balance. And I really do love the saber tail. Is he an athletic little guy, with good stamina and coordination?
ReplyDeleteI'll take your word on his temperament, which is so hugely important too. It looks like he has it all :)
He has the lovliest prance when he walks. He always looks like he 'has a place to get to' and does so with conviction. He wrestles and plays chase with all my medium adults but is not hyper. The only time he goes bonkers is when he wants to meet people or when I come home from errands.
ReplyDeleteRecently, we had a visit from my son and family which includes our 16 month old grand-daughter. He was so gentle and sweet with her.
By the way, his favorite place to cuddle is with his nose tucked into your neck.
I do declare, we may have to move to Maine just so we can be a guardian home to one of your gorgeous pups!
ReplyDeleteI concur with everything said about the look of Chaplin. His proportions really are fantastic. I've never been a "little dog" person, in large part because so many little breeds are disproportionate, and this can lead to a variety of health problems. Chaplin, however, is just a beauty!
A congratulations in advance to whoever gets to give this little guy a home. You're all very lucky!
Sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce, Was just taking a look at your Blog and saw your post on Chaplin. What happened to him? He was the sweetest looking puppy! I am so sorry for your loss, Amy
ReplyDeleteHorribly, my husband did not see him in the driveway and ran him over. We just finished burying him and I still can't believe he is gone. This is a loss that will take me much time to recover from.
ReplyDeleteOh no, Joyce. This is so tragic. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope happy memories will help sustain you through this terribly difficult time. I am so sad for you.
ReplyDeleteHe was such a happy guy and so, so sweet and intuitive. This is why I could not delete this thread, it was written in the spirit of a sunny future that this boy would bring to my program. I don't want to lose that feeling even though he is gone. His wonderful memories will keep me searching for his spiritual twin.
ReplyDeleteJoyce
ReplyDeleteMy sympathy goes out to you both on the tragic loss of your sweet puppy. His life was short but he was very much loved and I am sure he knew it. He will certainly live on in your heart and in the hearts of those, like me, who follow your Blog.
Jane
Dear Joyce,
ReplyDeleteThe girls and I were doing our daily check of your blog, and read this sad news. I hardly know what to say; I can only imagine how you both must be feeling. Our hearts go out to both of you, and to little Chaplin. We'll be thinking of him tonight, as he prances his way over the rainbow bridge.
With sympathy,
Todd, Kelly, Lila, Pippa, and Albert
Thanks for all the warm and gentle thoughts. I just can't seem to be consoled at this time, but I know that when the next litter arrives, I will be grateful. Hugs to all.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, Joyce. I hope the happy memories help blunt the intensity of the sorrow over time. We'll give Paddy some extra hugs and love today in tribute.
