I have begun to take Piper to a Puppy Obedience class for more socialization with people and other animals. This is very important so that she can continue to be exposed to many sights, sounds and stimulating environments that she is not accustomed to at home. She has surprised me with her 'braveness' to go up to strangers for pats and cuddles. I am so pleased to see this - an absolute people magnet. :+)
She is also attending a puppy class on Saturday mornings to explore the opportunity to make more 'furry' friends. Today was her first class and she seemed a bit stressed but I am sure with more exposure, she will do just fine. I was very proud of Piper today. :+)
She is such a cutie! Looks like a black version of Teddy. Sounds like they are similar socially as well :-)
ReplyDeletePiper loves meeting people which truly surprised me because she seemed so timid but that has gone away and has been replaced with a 'don't you want to pat me?' personality. She gives kisses willingly. Hopefully, her willingness to play with other dogs will develop just as nicely. :+)
ReplyDeleteI do have a family coming to visit with her tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed that we are all in agreement. If not, she is such an easy puppy, we don't mind her company at all.
Last night while watching t.v. sleeping next to me on my chair, she snored. Such contentment!
Is she still in need of a home? We are just starting to think about getting our first ever dog. My son is an animal lover to the nth degree. My husband has allergies, but we are hoping a labradoodle might work for him. In any case, I'm enjoying your site.
