It has been a crazy week and we are still not done - eye appointments on Friday!
First, all are doing very well and are napping as I type. Elsie and Boomer went along for the ride to the vets this morning but then spent the rest of the day together. Later in the afternoon, I picked up the pups. The staff gave them each some 'baby food' after their surgeries and were being cuddled in their arms. The service at Broadview Animal Hospital is beyond fantastic. :+)
Once home, I checked the surgical sites and gave them another bite or two of food. Tonight, they will all have normal amounts. I just want to be sure they are all pooping normally.
While at the vets, I had them do a full panel blood work, insert their microchips and make sure they had laser therapy for faster healing. They will be restricted from the play area because they do need to be kept somewhat quiet for the next 10 days. Yes, they can go for walks, play and do all the normal things pups do but refrain from climbing stairs, jumping or running excessively. Keep the level of activity dialed on low. At this time, no one needs a 'cone of shame'. Hopefully, they will leave their incision alone. If not, I will put them on.
