Jonnie has been bred this morning!

Than you Lord for giving us great weather to get this done!  We arrived at Broadview Vets just a smidgen after 10 am and Mr. Duckie Mallard was promptly waiting for us in the lobby with a wagging tail.
Hello, my name is JONNIE CACHE - How do you do!

Jonnie was immediately smitten with his curls and good manners.  A room was readied and we let them get to know each other.  Being a sensitive guy, Duckie was fine with Jonnie making all the moves but we 'only had the room for a short time', so the staff prepared to collect Duckie and AI (Artificially Inseminate) Jonnie.  It went smooth as melted chocolate and all was well promptly.  They said their goodbyes and I am sure may meet again some day in the future.

To be honest, I thought Jonnie was NOT going to be receptive to being AI'd, but she was perfect! Not a whimper or complaint.  Good Girl!!  :+)

If all goes well, puppies should be arriving in early February but there will be many more posts on this mating before then!

When we arrived home, I took Jonnie out for some fresh air and took some pics of her in my driveway.
She stays very close but I took no chances and kept her on a leash as we walked around in our yard.  She loves the snow and kept eating it.  It took a bit of time before I could get a decent pic with her head up!

The pic on the right shows her bit of grey shading on her back which the Yorkie breed has. No, Jonnie has no Yorkshire Terrier in her!!  It is the greying gene.  :+)

After, I took her into my fenced front yard which is full of snow, she and my other doodles enjoyed romping around.  They all got along well.

Jonnie weighs 20 lbs. and is just about 16" in height.  Duckie is 18 lbs.  Both are small doodles but not a fragile ones.  Jonnie likes to play and loves to sleep in your bed preferably on your head!  Jonnie is most definitely a cuddler and wants to be near you.  She is curious as well as an 'alert' doodle.  If someone is at your door, you will know it.

Merry Christmas to all!!
