The big FOUR week birthday!

Charlotte's pups now see and hear very well. They playfully mouthed each other and are doing exceptionally well with the litter box training. I am now feeding them three times a day and Charlotte is very happy to have the assistance. With well developing muscles, their walking is much better and they now easily climb over the 2 inch lip barrier of the potty box.

I am happy to have clients with deposits visit to meet the pups at this time. We still need to remember 'inside voices' and to not startle them but a gentle, short visit is available beginning on Saturday, 11/7.

Pink Girl at 4 wks. weighs 3 1/2 lbs.

Green Boy at 4 wks. is at 3 3/4 lbs.

Purple Girl at 4 wks. is 3 1/2 lbs.

This lil peanut weighs just 2 3/4 lbs.  Caramel Boy will be under 25 lbs. as an adult.

Black Boy at 4 weeks weighs 3 lbs.

THE ANCHOR! Teal Boy is the biggest at 4 wks - 5 1/4 lbs!  I expect him to be about 30 lbs. at maturity.
It is easy to pick out the pups that will be the biggest as well as the smallest based on their weight and how they feel in my hands. The middle of the road pups will be roughly 24 to 28 lbs. Although the ones that favor their sire, Rocky, will have a small stature, they will be rugged and we all know thick bones weigh more.  Charlotte, the dam, has an athletic build and frame and is taller than Rocky.

Just like our newborn children, it is difficult indeed to know EXACTLY how each will turn out at maturity but based on genetics, we have a range of probability.
