A Guardian Home gem named DIESEL is looking to join a gentle family.

Diesel is quite relaxed sitting by my large flower pot in front of our door.
YES, Diesel is still here because he deserves a wonderful guardian home that is searching for a great puppy to add love, smiles and fun into their lives.

When I went to take Diesel for a walk on our road, I realized he was NOT happy to have cars or trucks whizzing by him, he actually FROZE.  I knew immediately that I had to desensitize him to that 'sound'.  I began by working with him in my front yard where he had the opportunity to run back to the front door each time a car or truck went by.  I then grabbed some cooked chicken, a leash and harness and kept him with me when those vehicles went by.  I redirected him to pay attention to me as the nasty 'noise' passed.  Once he realized he was safe, he began to relax and only showed a mild awareness of the vehicles going by.  Then I moved to my driveway with the same 'equipment' and repeated the same formula.  Before long, he was walking just fine up and down my driveway getting his goodies, pats and encouragement from me.  Lastly, I got him to cross the street with me and repeated it again.  He also met a couple of our town workers to say 'Hello' to as cars went by.

Yesterday, I took him to two garden nurseries to meet strangers and say 'Hello'.  He was perfect.  When not in my arms, he sat by my feet as I talked or browsed.  Everyone thought he was so gorgeous and sweet.  Each day, I expose him to something new and repeat the steps with regard to the car noise.  He has no reaction to vacuums, mowers, etc.  He is very good on car rides, no vomiting or whining.  Diesel comes when called and sleeps very well in his crate from 10 pm to about 6 am.  When I am busy, Diesel stays in his safe zone where his crate is with the door off.  This is a perfect set up for a pup.  He is so easy to have around - even my girls don't mind him too much.  Daisy and Gunny, his mom, play pretty rough with him and he is submissive and respectful.  Olive growls at him all the time and Harriet grumbles but likes him.  Willis is unfazed when he is around.

Remember to read about a Guardian Home for Diesel on this blog further down the posts.  I am particular about grooming, vaccines/flea tick products, food and training!  I want my doodles to be healthy and happy, so good food, minimal vaccines and positive training are very important to me.  Diesel is very food motivated and learns quickly. :+)

Gunny x Boomer pups are beginning to leave. UPDATED!!!

Stay tuned to this post for updates as pups go home with their families.  Because of an error I made for pick ups, pups are leaving over a seven day period.

I know that Bailey and Dylan will be great friends.

Lilo is going to have so many hands for petting, cuddling and training!

Coco will bring many more smiles to her family.

ADNE'S 'Skye's the Limit' aka 'SKYE' will enjoy her new home with another ADNE doodle!

What is better than one doodle?  Two of them - one for each lap!  Duke and Zella Johnson.

A favorite of everyone, Miss Phoebe goes home.  She will bring lots of smiles to all.

ADNE's 'DIESEL'.  I am waiting for the right Guardian Home for this handsome fellow.  He is calm, gentle, playful and quiet.  I have not heard him bark yet but he loves to chase and play with balls, tug and seems to like water.  :+)

Please read more about Diesel and a Guardian Home on this AnnaBlog.  Diesel is a charmer!

WEEK 8 - GUNNY X BOOMER LITTER!

Well, it is certainly crunch time here at ADNE.  Six of the pups went in yesterday for their surgeries and all are doing wonderfully this morning.  They are outside playing and napping as it pleases them. This morning's round of pics had a couple of 're-do's because they really have TOO much energy to stay still for a second or two!!

Incisions look good and I keep checking.  Don't be surprised if you feel a bit of bump on the area - that is from moving too much but the only way to prevent that is to crate for many hours a day.  Pups know when to stop playing and I rather they enjoy each other for the time they have left here.

Saturday at 10 am, three of the pups will be going home to their families.  The rest will go home on Saturday, August 24th at 1 pm.  Then I will just have Diesel and Skye here until Guardian Homes are found.

Today's pics were done outside wherever I could find the proper lighting.  The sun can be a real pain sometimes!!

Zella is a family name.  :+)   She weighs 5 3/4 lbs.

Coco, a popular name for a chocolate pup it seems!  5 3/4 lbs.

Phoebe means 'A beam of light'.  How appropriate for this girl and her owner - 5 1/2 lbs.

Diesel means oil.  I love his slick, shiny black coat.  I understand it is also a popular clothing store in NYC.
DIESEL IS AVAILABLE FOR A LOCAL GUARDIAN HOME!  He is 8 lbs. at 9 weeks.

Lilo is an unusual name - I believe it means 'generous' - nice connotation.  Lilo is 6 1/2 lbs.

Bailey had quite the 'go around' for his name.  6 1/2 lbs.

ADNE Skies the Limit aka Skye/Skylar.  It was not intentional, just sort of fit.  5 lbs.
Skylar is a breeding hopeful.

Rocky is now named DUKE and will reside with sister ZELLA !   :+)

DIESEL- GUARDIAN HOME CANDIDATE

I took a few more pics of Diesel today.  I just love his silky coat!  I expect Diesel to be 25 to 28 lbs. at maturity.  He is a 'middle of the road' puppy - not too soft and not too busy.  He likes to be the center of attention but does not demand it.  Diesel also can entertain himself without too much effort.  A very compliant nature.

Diesel has a soft but playful temperament.

His coat will have lovely waves.
9 weeks and stopping traffic at lights and parking lots!  Too cute!

Diesel is nine weeks here and 8 lbs.  A rugged, mello kind of guy.

His coat is soooo silky and soft - like his soft look in his eyes.
Being a Guardian Home is a unique opportunity but it does come with some caveats.  I would like to list some of them that are truly important to me:

  • His name is Diesel and it cannot be changed or be called a different 'nickname' as he has a veterinary record in that name and I don't want any confusion.
  • For the health of my breeding stock, I require minimal vaccines.  A holistic vet is my preference but some traditional vets are reasonable.  My vaccine protocol will not generally follow your vets requirements but you must use mine.  Over vaccination impacts the immune system and I wish to avoid this.
  • Read my contract because there are several flea/tick meds that simply cannot be used due to health issues and death resulting from their use.  I recommend Wondercide as it can be used on humans and animals.  There is no 'warning' on their label due to its safety.  There are also vests that can be bought at NoFlyDesigns.com that work well when going into the woods or grassy areas that repel fleas, ticks, etc.  Poisonous chemicals are not acceptable to use on my Labradoodles.  I always ask 'Can this stuff be used on me'? The answer has always been 'No, it is not recommended'.  So why is it ok to put on my companion?
  • Mother Nature is in charge of when I breed and she is unforgiving.  Hence, a guardian must understand that when I need a stud, it is not something I can postpone.  Breeding is very time sensitive.  Of course, I always try to be reasonable and provide plenty of notice when I can but there will be times when it is not possible.  How flexible is your schedule?
  • Is your home close enough to me that it will not be an inconvenience to you to bring Diesel here as needed?  The traveling is on you, so give this lots of consideration.
  • Diesel must always look well tended to.  Will this added expense of grooming fit in your budget and schedule?
  • Training is required and Diesel must be a well mannered doodle.  Does your schedule allow for training classes?  He is an easy boy - sensitive, sweet and mello.  He wants to please and should only be trained with positive methods.  No choke chains or harsh reprimands, please!
The list seems quite long, I know.  :+)  A guardianship is a partnership and needs open and honest communication.  Transparency is what we both will need in order to have a seamless relationship.  A question I get asked all the time is "How many times will you need to use him'?  My answer always is 'I have no idea'!  Sometimes it may be once a month, or three times a year.  A breeder does not have a set schedule, it is always random.

So, please be honest with yourself when you read the above. Diesel is the male Pick of the Litter. He has the DNA, coat, conformation, personality and temperament to move my program forward in a positive way.  You are instrumental in his development to be a 'hero' in this respect.  All we can both hope for is that he passes my stringent testing protocol at a year of age at my vet's office in Rochester, NH.  If he falls below my guidelines, then you will be required to pay the balance of the pet price.  I will pay for his neuter.  If he passes, you will be refunded your deposit in full when his contract ends and I still pay for his neuter at that time.

ROCKY IS AVAILABLE FOR A HOME!

Rocky has a bit of shyness and needs a home that has a gentle environment and will only use positive training methods.  He is not a hyper pup at all.  He will enjoy walks, meeting friendly people using treats to say 'Hello' and will engage with friendly dogs and cats.  This is not the type of pup to take to dog parks or rowdy day care centers.

He is submissive to people and dogs but does NOT submissive pee.  A gentle approach wins him over.  I have a full report on him by my trainer who claims he will be an easy pup to raise because of his soft temperament.

Please send in an application if you are interested or call for more information.  Rocky is a miniature, caramel colored Labradoodle with a allergy friendly curly coat.

Since he needs another eye exam in June due to an eye issue, only people willing to go to Portsmouth, NH for this appointment should apply.  My eye vet does not feel it is a concern but we want to verify.  Of course, I will pay for the exam.

Rocky is my normal pet price.  He is not discounted.  Please read my contact regarding any health issues under the Purchase Detail Tab on my website.

Who I am keeping for Guardian Homes!

Finally, I received the information I needed to make my Guardian Home choices.  I am keeping both Coal and Sky.  So those of you who had them listed on your preferences, they are no longer available.  I am pretty sure I have a guardian home for Skye whose full name is ADNE 'SKIES THE LIMIT' aka Skye; and Coal is now ADNE 'DIESEL'.   I am definitely looking for a local guardian for Diesel - that means less than an hour away - preferably closer to a half hour unless you don't mind driving to me all the time.

I updated my website on the Home Page to reflect my choices as soon as I made them.

Now the difficulty is some of you are going to need to make other choices and I would appreciate hearing from you.  FYI - I have placed both Sage and Coffee already.  I am going to continue assigning to those that I still have preferences from.

Some of you will be disappointed, I know a few will be, just let me know if you would like your deposit back.  Pups are available for the fall from my breeder friend, Marci of Tango Wool Labradoodles.  You should contact her asap.

At last, at last the Clary x Wyatt litter are all in their homes!

Due to a calendar glitch, Biscuit had to remain another week later than his siblings.  He was picked up this morning by has very happy family and now I can finally post pictures of the families!

Harper has joined the Greene family.  (Pink Girl)

Lucky for me that Alexa, Daren and I were on the same page when it came to picking this boy to be a
potential stud for ADNE someday.  He has two other dogs, a cat and a wonderful yard to explore.

Biscuit was the last pup to be picked up but he had a ball with the minis that are still here during his extra time.  A doodle that could have gone to any family as he is such a confident and snugly guy.

Roxy was the first to leave our nest.  Another ADNE doodle awaits at home.  Will be very interesting
to see how they are doing together as Roxy is quite the social butterfly!

Edith Hansen had the softest coat and personality of the group.  This family really wanted a pup to snuggle with
and I do believe Edith will give everyone equal attention.  :+)

Now that all the pups have been placed, I do hope I will get some updates every now and again to hear how all are doing.  Pictures would be welcomed as well!  You all know how to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  :+)

Temperament Tests - Assignments Update

Just to let you all know that my trainer will not return back here from Denver until Tuesday, so assignments will be made on Wednesday, Aug. 14th.  At that time, I will need a name for either a male or a female so PLEASE have this ready.  I will ask that the balance for your pup be sent so it is received by Tuesday, Aug. 20th if using a personal check.  If not received by that date (late), I will hold it for you and you must bring cash instead at pick up.  My address is on the bottom of every page of the website.

Pick up is on Saturday, August 24th at 1 pm unless you have made other arrangements with me.  Lastly, Week 8 pics will be done on Thursday, not Wednesday because of their surgeries.

Boy, did I drop the ball this week! (Gunny x Boomer Litter - 7 weeks)

My apologies for messing up the pick up day - I clearly missed an entire week when making my count.  It does not impair the surgery date but the pups were a bit early for their CAER Eye Exam today as I generally do it at eight weeks; as well as their Temperament Test.  However, my very experienced trainer will take their age into account when doing her write ups.  She did mention to me that she has a commitment in Denver and may not get to them until her return.  Please be patient, I would rather the reports be correct not fast.

The pups have really been enjoying the play yard and both Biscuit and Pink have been a great 'big sis and big bro' to all of them.  They all sleep together as well but are fed in separate areas.  Biscuit (Pink is SOLD AND WITH HER NEW FAMILY) will be picked up on Saturday and I will just have the little guys for the next couple of weeks.

A friend of mine came with me to the pups Temperament Test and was a great help moving and holding some of the pups as needed.  Thank you, Roxann!!  Both Rocky and Coffee needed another pup to bolster their confidence through some of the test parts and then completed the rest by themselves.  Given they are both smaller than most and tested a week early, I was glad to see them complete the process once a sibling was with them.  :+)

The ride up and back from the Temperament Test was somewhat noisy until the pups finally settled down; however, the ride to the eye exams today was MUCH more quiet.  We have a couple more trips before they go home.

This week's pics includes some of the pups participating in the Temperament Test.

Fudge Boy is very popular.  Wonder why?  :+)

For those who like curls, well..Sage has plenty of them.

A replica of her mom, Coffee will more than likely lighten just a bit.

Coral's color is so captivating.  She IS the color of a Kraft Caramel.  Yum!

Oh, those silky blacks get me every time.

'How much is that dogie in the Window'?  Anyone remember that tune?  Rocky takes it to a new level.
Violet was terrific during her Temperament Test.  A really confident pup.  Cute, too!

A smart a--!  Sky simply knows she is adorable and uses her smarts and good looks  optimally!

Here are some pics of the pups during the variety of 'activities' done during the Temperament Test.

Clary's pups are 9 weeks today and one already went home.

Roxy went home with her family this morning but her siblings are still here and today is still PICTURE DAY!

I brought the pups in when we had our shower but the afternoon is lovely once again and out they went to play with Gunny's babies.  I was able to get some single shots of them even between all the chasing and wrestling.

Biscuit will be here till Sat. Aug. 10th.  He is the biggest pup in the litter at 10 lbs.

I really like this black and white pic of Pink Girl, who does not have a home at this time.  She definitely favors her Poodle genes in her face and leg length.  She is athletic and sweetly independent.  7 1/2 lbs.
She will probably be about 28 lbs. as an adult.

Pink again peeking from behind the slide.

You can really see Pink's long legs in this pic.  Although her coat is dense, she has the type of coat that can be kept nice and neat easily if you are handy with clippers!  A 'no muss, no fuss' type of girl.  :+)
Frankie leaves with his guardians tomorrow late afternoon.  I am so looking forward to seeing him mature. 9 1/2 lbs.

Miss Edith also goes home tomorrow in the early afternoon.  (7 1/2 lbs.)  Around 27 lbs. or so  at maturity.
By tomorrow evening, my load will be a bit lighter but still busy!  I look forward to more visits from the Gunny litter owners.  In the meantime, I am sure both Pink and Biscuit will tire out the pups for nice long naps!  :+)

It was HAPPY HOUR at ADNE this morning!

Finally, I let the little pups into the large play area with the big pups and didn't they have a ball!  Both groups entertained each other very well.  I was surprised that Gunny's minis held their own with Clary's bruisers!

Look for yourselves!  Unfortunately, most of the chocolate pups were either behind, under or in a different spot as I snapped pics.

We are ready to play, are you?

Pink Girl got into it right away with a happy hop!

Game on!

What is over there?

Sniff, sniff...

Help!  I am being ganged up on!!

No, says Frankie,  I AM being ganged up on!

How you doing, little buddy?

Come on, Coal, let's play!

I'll play, I'll play!

Follow the leader, ladies!

I went for a very nice ride in the Uber car.  :+)

Roxy gets stalked by two minis, while Frankie looks on.

Uh oh looks like a stand off.....

The chase is on!

This is a pivot...watch..

See that?

Not bad says Roxy.

I can show you a few tricks, says Roxy.

Coal can't decide who to play with - Pink or Biscuit.

Biscuit wins!

That's ok says Pink, I got the toy I want.
