Sadie had a grooming today.

Like all mother's, Sadie has been working hard and needed some 'beauty time'.  I had given her a bath a few days ago and today, I finally had a few hours to give her a good brushing, cut and massage.  She obviously has been groomed often because her manners were terrific!  Thank you Brittany for giving her lots of practice.  :+)

Hard to believe this girl was deep chocolate as a pup!  Now she is a stunning 'Lavender'.  That is the color code name
for a chocolate that dilutes in the Labradoodle world.   It looks like a melting icicle color to me!

My take is that any of the chocolates in her litter will dilute to Lavender.  I have never had a chocolate doodle remain chocolate at maturity.  They are indeed rare!

Who needs toys??

Although commercial toys can be a lot of fun, so can things that are hanging around the house be just as entertaining if not more!

Look and see how much fun the pups are having with a couple of 'toys' readily available at your home.  :+)

I tossed in a small box and 'voila'!

A plastic bottle with the cap ring and paper taken off makes for a great toy.  Add some dry kibble inside for some 'noise' and be sure the cap is on tight because they really get excited with the kibble inside!

I think Miss Pink is thinking of jumping inside.  Hmmmmm..

Following the crinkles the bottle makes is intriguing to pups.

SIX WEEKS OLD! - JONNIE x DUCKIE

Oi vey - the teeth!!!  Nothing is sacred!  They are piranhas - pants, shoes, sweaters, socks, laces, toes, hair and fingers are all the same to them right now.  I feel like I should put on an 'Ironman's suit'.  :+)

They are still lovable though and cute as can be in spite of those needle-like teeth.  I actually let them out in the ally this week for some really fresh air.  They loved it and meandered down and under the ramp, chomping on leaves and sticks (thank goodness) and chasing each other around.  They enjoyed it immensely and I had some peaceful cleaning up time without seven munchkins trying to eat the broom, chase the vacuum or jump into the utility pail.

With all those teeth available to crunch all within their grasp, they are now eating FROMM's Puppy Food dry.  Good exercise for their mouths, right??  As expected, Blue Boy is the GOBBLER, so now he will be eating by himself so the others will have equal opportunity to get their share.  Once they catch up, we can assess feeding as a group once again.  However, I do switch to single bowl feeding around 8 or 9 weeks of age.

We had some more visitors this past week and have taken pictures with an Irish theme to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day.  :+)

Green Boy is at 4 lbs. this week.

Pink is 3 1/4 lbs.

Coal weighs 3 1/4 lbs.

Rose Girl is at 3 1/2 lbs. this week.

Blubber Boy is a hefty 4 3/4 lbs!

Phooey!  My feelings exactly, Violet!  3 1/2 lbs.  

A point I need to make is I will not be able to have this group of pups go to my Ophthalmologist Vet, as I normally do.  They are closing for everything but emergencies due to this virus. I had made their appointment but they cancelled it.  :+(   Nothing I can do about it. I always provide this service to my customers but my hands are tied on this litter, unfortunately.

On another note:  I do intend to keep this litter's pick up date for April 5th.  If worse comes to worse, I will have to forfeit the group meeting and will instead bring your pup to YOUR car in the driveway with your info packet and pup tote.  There will be no photos or handshakes.  If you have any questions, you can call or email me.  THIS WILL ONLY BE DONE IF THINGS TRULY GET WORSE.  

Hopefully, if anyone is ill, that person will stay home and send someone who is not ill.  We can all beat this virus using common sense and consideration.

Sadie's pups went for their second car ride today!

It was such a nice and sunny day, I took advantage and plopped them into a laundry basket and off we went!  They did not make ONE sound.  All snuggly and happy.  :+)

They were so warm with the sun shining on them.  Good pups!  :+)

We all made it through the first week!  In spite of a pandemic virus, stores without toilet paper, people going absolutely nutty and schools/colleges closing down.  Here at ADNE....... all is well. :+)

Sadie is surely delighted that she can now mingle whenever she wants to in the house.  Thrilled to run around with all the girls outdoors and eating well.  Her pups are content and happy.

I do not post one week pics individually but will certainly do so when they are two weeks of age.  :+)

Sadie is just like her mom, Daisy.  She can contort her body every which way !  The pups seem to find a nipple no matter the 'form' their mom may take.

Jonnie has done her duty.

Tomorrow, I will be returning Jonnie to her guardians.  They are so excited for her return.  I don't think she is aware yet, but once in the car I think she will have an idea'.

Her spot on my bed will be happily filled with Gunny, who has had her nose bent a bit with having to share the bed with Jonnie every now and again.  Surprisingly, they got along very well!

Having just one nursing momma in my house will be much more peaceful.  :+)

Thank you, Jonnie for being a great whelper and momma to your seven adorable puppies!  Maybe the next time we decide to breed you, we will use Force of Hobbit aka HOBBS - that, too, should be an adorable litter!!

WEEK FIVE - JONNIE X DUCKIE!

Although a pack filled day, I was happy that Jonnie's pups cooperated and we were able to get their five week pics done pretty quickly!

Maybe they are still have a hangover from all the attention they received over the weekend!  Ha, ha.

They have been using the potty box quite well and that makes clean up nice and simple.  I love a litter that catches on so quickly.  :+). They now look forward to their meals and gobble it all up.  They still love to nurse on Jonnie but I have reduced that to about one or two a day as Jonnie will be back with her guardians by the weekend.  My Home Girls are eager to teach and entertain the pups so still lots of nurturing will continue.

Yes, I am busy with two litters but I knew that.  Truly just one hectic week is not so bad.  I always  schedule my matings based on the number of weeks of 'overlap'.  I keep it as short as possible so I have the time for the care necessary.
