Our first visitors!

The Sadie x Boomer pups did amazingly well for their first time out of the pen meeting new people!  I was very much surprised and delighted as many times, the four week old visit meets with some shy or 'scared' pups.  As I say over and over, each pup has their own time line for developing their confidence and I respect that.  This week, Mr. Rocky was all wags and greetings while his sisters enjoyed the gentle petting and holding, he was all over the place looking for attention and being very, very cute about it.  Maybe he thinks because he is the only male, he MUST be special.  :+)

REVOLVING DOORS!!

It did not take me too long to clean up the Pup Room once Jonnie's pups were picked up today and get the little guys all settled in.  Thankfully, the move was pretty darn smooth and they enjoyed checking out their new space with some toys to explore.

I was surprised at how quickly they 'called it home'.  :+)

PICS OF THE NEW FAMILIES!

Thank you Lord for giving us good weather, a smooth pick up day in spite of the chaos caused by the COVID - 19 virus and for the wonderful new owners that followed all my directions and were pretty much on time!

WHAT a day!  I have heard from a few of you with reports that the trip home went well.  The biggest question has been 'How much to feed'?  Your pup's weight is on the yellow half sheet called the Health Certificate.  Then you can figure how much based on what you are feeding - there is always a chart on the food bag.  :+)

After the pick ups, I started on the cleaning for Sadie's pups to move in.  They are happy for more room.

Without delay, here are the happy owners of a brand, spanking new ADNE pup!  CONGRATULATIONS and be well!  Don't hesitate to call or email with questions or concerns.  I am here to support you in any way I can.  HUGS!

'Violet' was violet collar girl.  So happy mom got the 'hi five' from her sons to bring a 'girl' into the family

'Lola' (Teal Collar) will bring a whole new dimension to 'taking a walk' in this household.  :+)

'Skipper' is aptly named for all his new adventures with this active couple. Ahoy,  my boy!

Dewey (Blue Collar) will bring much joy and laughter to this family who recently lost their beloved pet.

Pink Collar who is now 'Rocki' will be quite the entertainer.  I asked that when Rocki is older,
I would love to see her in a pink tutu.  She has the drama and the curls.

Rosie, who sported the rose collar, will have lots of hands to give her hugs and play-time.

'Bruin' aka coal collar.  I sure hope he gets to see a few games and wears a Bruin shirt to show support!

Thanks everyone for making the trip, being great throughout my process and hanging in there in spite of COVID 19.  Stay safe, don't forget training and give my fur babies lots of hugs and kisses!  :+)

SADIE x BOOMER LITTER IS FOUR WEEKS!

Their time in the kitchen has been excellent!  They will move into the Pup Room tomorrow after it is cleaned.  Jonnie's babies are now ready for their new homes and will be picked up tomorrow!  Very happy and excited families!

Sadie has been a very good mommy and this week, I will begin to feed her babies a gruel and start the weaning process.  It generally takes a week or so to gently stop milk production.  The good news for me is that her family lives pretty close and we will begin to have her visit them for several hours to help the separation process.  This makes it easier on the mom and the pups.  Once the pups are eating puppy food well, Sadie will just come for a few minutes to 'empty' her milk glands and go right back home.  It usually just takes twice and she is finished.  By then, pups are going outside and quite interested in running around and having visitors.  :+)

WE'RE HOME!

After dropping them off early this rainy morning, I went home to clean and re-arrange the Pup Room for when they would return.  I added small crates because I want them to 'check them out' before going home.  I changed the type of litter box, so they cannot touch any litter or cause any dust to possibly infect their incision (some pups like to sleep in potty boxes).

I carried each one individually from the car to their new pen.  Each had a small serving of Royal Canine Puppy Mousse because they can't have a full meal yet.  This food is very dense, full of calories and highly nutritious and is used for any animal that needs quality nourishment after surgery.

They will be restricted to just one outside pen for fresh air other than the whole play yard.  This will minimize them from running too much which could cause their incision to swell.  Amazingly, the pups feel so good, they WANT to run around!

When they go home to you on Sunday, they still need to be restricted from excessive play for 7 more days.  Yes, they can walk, run a bit, chase a ball a short distance and be held.  No jumping or crazy company getting them all excited.  They should have a few days of a quiet household to bond with his or her new family and be low key.  If they get too excited and boisterous, put them in their safe zone to mello out.

Surgery day tomorrow!

Since the pups will be on restricted exercise for the next few days, I wanted them to really have a lot of free time in the Pup Play-Yard today.

I took some pictures of these romping, sliding, hopping, chasing, chewing fur-balls so you can see how much fun they have had over the last week since the snow left.  They have just loved the freedom of movement, exploration and space.  They sleep well at night.  :+)

Regarding their surgeries, I will bring them in bright and early but more than likely, will not get them back until late in the afternoon.  Enjoy.

VACCINES! (Jonnie x Duckie Litter)

I tell you, it is great when businesses go over and above to take care of their clients.  This morning, I took the pups to my vet 'for curbside service'.  Their vet techs came out to pick up the pups and bring them into the vet for both Distemper and Parvo Virus vaccines and to do a check up for their Health Certificates.  They were coddled and hugged by the staff; and the vet, laughing, remarked in our phone conversation, they were so beautiful but she had to stand on a stool to actually do her exams because they kept untying her shoelaces when on the floor.  Yep, they sure had a good time!  :+)
