We were all home in time for lunch. The ride up went pretty well. I had one that was vocal for a bit but she stopped after about 20 minutes. I know it was a female because Rocky is not as vocal as his sisters - who typically have quite a bit to say.
As always, there were surprises as well as expected results. Miss Bluebelle was the HUGE surprise - she absolutely LOVED the entire experience. The trainer said 'I would love five doodles like this one'! I was shocked at her performance - goes to show that you really cannot predetermine behavior unless it is challenged. Going to a new place with new smells, new people and different obstacles to overcome truly help traits to be exposed. Kudos to you Bluebelle!
Rocky was also in his element, showing off all over the place. Just proved to me an active, busy, energetic and social environment will be his cup of tea. My trainer felt he would love to learn 'Nose work' - interesting. :+)
The rest were somewhere in the middle and I expect my trainer's reports on Sunday.
The ride home was very quiet, not a peep. :+)

We had more visitors today. :+)
Apologies for not getting pics of our first visitor but the family will be coming again on Friday, so I will be sure to get some then.
The next visitors are 'frequent flyers'. They have come nearly every week and have been great socializers for the pups. I am grateful for their visits. :+)

In desperate need of a haircut!
My stud hopeful, vin Diesel, looks like a Maine black bear! His guardian was becoming concerned since no groomers are open. I was hoping to visit Diesel soon, so offered to trim him.
He came prancing in and immediately my girls swarmed him. He handled it beautifully, showing respect but not being overly submissive. Before long he was bowing to play. :+)
Diesel is a dream boy. He is so cuddly and gentle and has no issues with touching toes, tail, ears, mouth or any other part of his body. His coat is so luxurious, soft, drapes like a silk curtain. I could not have hoped for a more handsome black stud to grace my program
He will be tested in June and I sure hope the testing Gods are kind and he begins his 'job' soon. :+)

SEVEN WEEKS, but a day late! (Sadie x Boomer)
Apologies for the late posting but I am sure you are happy to have them late a day than skip them this week, right?? :+)
The pups are enjoying the playground so much. They love the freedom of leaving the pup room during free time and just run and chase each other.
Do you remember the Popper? A toy for toddlers when they are beginning to walk and the bright little balls inside 'pop' when you push it? Well, didn't that interest them a whole bunch! First, they all were startled, then they followed me and the toy all over the place bopping to and fro as they chased the toy. It was pretty cute. :+)
As you know, on Thursday of this week, we take a trip to see my trainer and get Temperament Tested. It will be difficult to wait for the write ups but that gives you a bit more time to pick a name and READ my website. Don't forget to also read the CONTRACT. If you have questions, now is the time to contact me with them. On pick up day, you will be signing two contracts - I keep one and you keep the second. I am still hoping for decent day so we can have appropriate spacing outdoors so I can go over the notebook. Wear masks and gloves if you like. What happens will be determined by Mother Nature.
There has been so much development over the past week or so. When awake, they are much more engaging with lots of energy. Miss Copper, when we had visitors on Friday, was like the energizer bunny......going, going and going some more until I insisted she go nap with the others. She outdid Rocky, who has had a very social personality right from the get go. They all catch up eventually. Enjoy the pics!

Sadie's pups were happy to have visitors today!
As always, having people over to play with pups makes my and the puppies day! Thank you to Mother Nature for not raining on our 'parade' so we could be outdoors being mischievous, playful, running around playing chase and finding sticks and YES having people hold us.
Now that they have full access to the outdoors, they are loving it. When the weather is decent, I also feed them outdoors so that they find their toilet out there as well. I like them to be comfortable being out a lot so they are not shy about relieving themselves when at their new home.

Copper was the 'energizer bunny' today. Even when the rest went for a nap, she was trying to get them to play. |

SIX WEEKS! (Sadie x Boomer Litter)
Crate up! :+) |
Thankfully, we are still getting visitors to say 'Hello' and enjoy puppy breathe! So far, all have been healthy and we continue to do well.
Depending on the time, pups can be rambunctious and eager to engage or downright oblivious to visitors. Depends on how much sleep they have had and how quickly they run out of steam and need to re-charge. Like people, puppies have limits.
Here are some of our visitors! I love all the smiles!!! Everyone says they are so happy to have the opportunity to visit as it is such a positive experience during this tough time. :+)
And now onto the six week pictures of these cuties. I weighed them after lunch, so they are a bit 'heavier' than usual.
Raven has been one of the quieter pups. She weighs 4 1/2 lbs. |
Captivating Copper. Also a quiet pup and she does NOT like loud noises!! I will continue to work on that. |
Iris has on her bonnet, smells the flowers but where oh where is that SUN??? 4 1/4 lbs. |
Rocky, who weighs 4 1/4 lbs., is also looking for that 'ball of fire'. |
Bluebelle, known by all as 'Fat Alice' has enjoyed their lunch. She is at 5 1/2 lbs. - she looks content (or bloated). |
And then there is Fern. A warm lap and gentle hands are her best friends. A 'softy'. 4 lbs. |

Clary & Force of Hobbit.
If Mother Nature behaves herself, we should have a lovely litter of puppies come June. Both Clary and Hobbs are adorable doodles - friendly, happy, healthy with beautiful coats. Clary's coat has curl and is very soft and cuddly. She loves to smile. Hobbs has a flowing, straighter fleece coat that blows in the gentlest of winds. He is a charmer.
The litter will have a variety of sizes and colors - minis to small mediums (17 to 28 lbs.). In about 30 days, I will have Clary in for an ultra sound to confirm she is pregnant. Based on her numbers today and the quality of Hobbs' sperm, this should be a given but you never know.
This litter is fully booked with a full Wait List as well.

A new 'toy' and an exposure to outdoors for Sadie's litter. (5.3 wks.)
Today I looked for the play mat to put into the Pup room. Once put up, some of the pups were quite intrigued by the new addition.
Afterwards, the afternoon was sunny and mild, so I opened the door to the alley and let them peer out at me as I encouraged them to make the move to check out the alley. I had a couple of brave souls go to the edge of the door frame but then chickened out. :+). Eventually, I brought them out in twos to check the outdoor space. They were quite subdued as their noses smelled the pavers and checked underneath the ramp. All of them eventually came in by themselves. If it is nice tomorrow, I will let them out again to see how much more confident they will be. Small steps...day by day.
