Maple having some time to herself.

I just thought an updated pic of Maple Sugar was due since you don't see much of her - just pups for the most part.

I brushed her today and did a bit of a trim on her curly coat and once done she was 'chillin' in the kitchen. She has held her weight quite nicely and her coat is still very luxurious even with motherhood. She is an excellent mom and I know her guardian family (and Toby) miss her very much. In won't be long before she is back with them. :+)

Maple Sugar has one of the softest fleeces you will ever feel. You just want to sink your face into her curls.

'Dinner is served!'

I just started the pups on a mixture of gruel and raw hamburger. The two girls went right for it with gusto!

Once their little bellies were full, they informed the boys that 'dinner was on the table' and Stripe and Blue boys chowed down.

'Who needs napkins when tongues do soooo well!!', said the ladies. :+)

Finally, Green Boy got a whiff and came to eat. Notice Yellow Girl is back for more.

Yep, no flies on the 'little lady' who stayed till the last morsel was eaten up.

Ahhhh...a nice drink after such a delightful meal.

What goes in - must come out. Thankfully, they used the bathroom area. :+) Black Boy slept through the entire meal.

'Taking a walk into the jungle....'

Introducing stimulation toys has a sequential time frame. The soft Jungle Gym that I introduced today can only be used for a very short time. It is a very fun toy and since their teeth have not fully erupted they can't destroy it. It offers many wonderful sites and sounds that they find intriguing at this age. The pink flowers below have a 'crinkle' sound to them when pulled or stepped on. This sound is irresistible to pups.

I took this shot so you could have an over-view of them. Green Boy has an interest in tasting the cloth covered pole.

You can see how the texture, colors and little 'pulls' sewed onto the floor are of great interest to this group.

Black Boy cracks me up as he 'daydreams' in the crate. The others are still exploring the play gym.

Do you think Black Boy is making an introduction with Elephant? Such manners. :+)

Our 4 week mug shots!!

The pups are growing physically, mentally and developmentally. This past week has seen them morph into playful, wrestling bundles of fur! They are barking with purpose, listening to sounds and showing interest in them; experimenting with gruel on their tongues and licking raw bones to stimulate their palate. Soon, organic hamburger will be added to their gruel but not just yet!

They see better and are grabbing attached baby toys which have been added to their crate - tugging and biting with purpose. Their mouths have developed teeth buds and the chewing and biting will become more intense as the teeth erupt. Already, the group is establishing 'pack order' by daily squabbles with lots of growls and even dominant positioning.

They are using the potty boxes quite well with a few accidents. All of it normal and expected.

Puppy development is such a wondrous evolution. :+)

Black Boy - 4.12 lbs.

Stripe Boy - 4.8 lbs.

Teal Girl - 3.15 lbs.

Yellow Girl - 2.12 lbs.

Green Boy - 5.0 lbs.

Blue Boy - 4.2 lbs.

3...2..1... ACTION!

'Hey guys! Look what Grandmom is doing!'

'Look Mom - we have all this space that we can run around in!'

'Do you think it is okay to go there?'

'Don't worry, I will hold your paw.'

'Is this our new playground?'

'How do I get out? I want to play too!'

'This is soooo much fun!'

'Wow, look at the space out there!'

'I really gotta go! Which one of these is the Boys' Room?'

Our chocolate/cafe` Cadbury Nougat will be bred sometime this spring 2009.

I am not positive who her boyfriend will be however. I would like to produce a 'rainbow' litter that will include chocolates, cafes, blacks and creams. I have several suitors to pick from. Such suspense!!

Cadbury has a fabulous coat of spiraling fleece that is soft and silky. Her mate will need to have a complimentary coat. We are taking names for a wait list at this time.

Isn't she delightful?? Like M & M's, she just 'melts your heart'! :+)

Mom cuddling. :+)

Although the lighting was not very good in this shot, the 'content' was precious. :+) Maple has her head tucked on top of Green Boy with Turquoise Girl quite content to lay at mom's feet.
