This is the girl I had to pass on from the Emmett x Nellie mating due to a slight underbite. I do hope another like her will be born again the next time they have a litter.
I just love this phantom pattern in black and red.

Nellie x Emmett's pups have all been picked up and gone home. I have an empty nest for a little while.
My hopeful breeding girl Abigail went home last week and begins our 'Pick Up' parade!
This was a wonderful group of pups and I hope all of you are happy. I know most of you will be losing some sleep but it won't last forever. The memories and love that you will share will more than make up for it. :+) Joyce
Abigail left last Friday and is settling in well at the Davis home.
Diva left on Friday with Paul and David. I am told she slept all night until 8 am! What??
The Welch family welcomed big 'Ben' with open arms Friday afternoon!
Smiles all over the place for their new addition,Watson, who was picked up early this afternoon.
The last to go today is Miss Molly. She and her owner will have some great times together!

A few pics. :+)
I thought you all would enjoy a few pics before the rain comes down. It has been a few days and I know everyone is ramping up for their new companion.
They are all so sweet and follow me everywhere making it difficult for me to step! Sometimes I have to run to give my feet some room! :+)

Everyone trying to climb onto my lap!
Ben's face is ridiculously cute!
Diva doing what she does best...begging. Oh, those eyes!
Happy, happy, wagging tail Watson! He knows no other way to be. :+)
Love, love the pattern on Molly. A slight under bite took her out of my breeding program but she will be the 'Welcome Wagon' at her owner's store. Lucky customers! :+)
The group chilling. They are never still long! As you can see Molly is chewing on Watson.

The heat is turned on high today.....
Unfortunately, I cannot put the pups in the pool for cooling due to their surgeries BUT I can use a fine hose spray to coat the top of them for cooling and fun!
They seem to really enjoy being sprayed. I have been doing this nearly every two hours today to help them be more comfortable in this heatwave. :+)

Nellie x Emmett 9 week pics!
Abigail left yesterday so is not in these individual pics with the same setting but I did take a pic of her yesterday in the pup room to include.
The pups are doing very well today but are confined to the shady outdoor pen so running and climbing is limited for most of the week. It allows them to play but I need to be mindful of their incisions.
I hope all of you are getting ready to bring your furry bundle home!

THIRD SEGMENT: Abigail goes home!
As you can see, it has been a very full day here at ADNE.
Abigail was brought in with the pups but only for her microchip. She then came back home with me to rearrange and clean the pup room for her roomies. :+)
Soon, her guardians arrived to sign contracts and bring her home. I can't wait to hear of the adventures Abigail and her 'big doodle bro' Tucker have. Thanks Jan and Mike!

SECONDLY, update on Nellie's surgical group!
Molly was all about the hugs and kisses.
Along with Charlotte's U/S today, Nellie's pups: Molly, Ben, Diva and Watson had their spays and neuters. After an exam, they were whisked to the surgical area to wait their turn. Diva was the last to be done and when I picked them up at 3 pm, she still had her leg wrapped.
This is how they came out to me - all wrapped up in loving arms. :+)
Lounging in a cute girl's arms would appeal to most boys, right My Dear Watson?
'A piece of cake'! Ben is ready to rock and roll.
'I went last and let me tell you the story.....' Diva.
Once home, they had a very small meal, then rested. Later tonight, I will give them a full meal. They will all be ready to challenge the world again tomorrow but they will be restricted to the x-pen outdoors to help keep them somewhat contained and prevent a lot of running.
This is what they look like this afternoon once in their smaller, contained areas.
Watson and Ben are awake and lively.
Diva, took the soft, cushie crate and Molly accepted the tile.
Miss Abigail laid close by for support.

Given the temperature today.....
The pups got another dunking in our pool. They so enjoy running around shaking off the water once out! :+)
Here they are in the pup room (still damp) with a new toy I just bought today. They keep stepping on it so that the animals make noise. Very cute.

We had our eye exams this morning! Nellie x Emmett - 8.5 weeks.
Thank goodness it was an early appointment because it is hot as blazes today!
Once again, the pups did extremely well on their 45 minute car ride with no throw ups or accidents. I feel so fortunate when a litter is so accommodating.
Diva expressed her concern about not having 'shot gun' positioning but was otherwise compliant. They were wonderful at the vets and Dr. Cassotis and his team just adored them. Since Watson completed his exam first, he was scooped up by one of the vet techs to go 'visit' around the facility. When I went to pay the bill, he was on the lap of the front desk clerk perfectly content. :+)
Once back in the car, I gave them all a drink of water and then doused them with it for the ride home. Yes, I do have A/C but having the windows down on dampened fur was quite comfortable for them as the wind whipped around keeping them cool.
By the way, a gentle reminder to all that unless your checks are received by Monday, Sept. 7th, you must bring cash for pup pick ups!
Here are some pics of today's trip.

It was a perfect day for a walk!
After I finished taking pics this morning, I decided to take the pups for a walk before lunch was served. They all went out to potty first and then I packed them in their stroller. Daisy happily pranced along keeping an eye on the pups as a responsible nanny should. :+)
They do enjoy the walks and do a lot of peeking around. Motorcycles zoomed by as well as trucks and cars. Certainly not to the extent of being in a city but every little bit of exposure helps. Once home, lunch was served and now they are having one of their numerous naps.

Here they are! 'A day late but not a dollar short'! WEEK 8 for the Nellie x Emmett litter.
The past two days were sort of hectic with company but it IS still summer and we love visits from family and friends. :+)
The pups did just superb at the vets yesterday for their shots. For the trip, I put some peanut butter and treats mashed together in some pvc pipe elbows for their entertainment. They were very interested in licking out the goodies and were happy as clams. Not a one had any vomiting or salivation going on either. They also waited until they were on the vet's floor before peeing - love my vets - they are so prepared and unfettered.
All of them received their Health Certificates and first Distemper and Parvo Virus vaccines. They were checked over, played with, handled and fussed over. Did I say I love my vet office???
They all have GREAT names now and I love them all! :+)

Betsy is now DIVA! She DOES have eyes!! 8 weeks and 6 3/4 lbs. I used that name to describe Diva's 'dramatic' personality and it clicked! :+)
BEN Franklin's owners will keep the name! 8 weeks - 8 lbs. Ben is The Perfect Gentleman.
George Washington is now WATSON! 8 weeks - 6 lbs. Do you see his tongue peeking? Can't you just hear Sherlock Holmes saying 'My dear Watson....'
Little MOLLY PITCHER will also keep her original name! 8 wks. - 5 1/2 lbs. No grumpies being awakened from her nap - definitely the pout and sleepy eyes though!
Annabelle's ABIGAIL ADAMS is a breeding hopeful at 8 wks and 7 3/4 lbs. Congrats to both Jan and Michael for becoming guardians for this sweet and charming girl.

Seven Weeks old and just chugging along!
I had a whole different picture theme set up for their 7 week shots but Mother Nature gave us rain and I had to switch gears. I am, however, grateful for the rain so am not complaining.
The pups seem a bit put off by the sprinkles and have been 'less than happy' to potty outdoors. In between the showers, I have them go outdoors as much as possible and just clean up the messes indoors as they occur. Part of being a breeder!
So, today they donned their raincoats and used the umbrella to get some fresh air. :+)

Molly Pitcher at wk 7 is 4 1/2 lbs. Molly continues to be an investigative and curious girl.
Betsy Ross at Wk 7 is 5 3/4 lbs. Betsy plays hard to get. She should be in theatre. Says 'no' but means 'yes'. Oi.
Abigail Adams at Wk 7 is 6 3/4 lbs. Abby struts her stuff. Seems confident and willing to try new challenges.
Ben Franklin at Wk 7 is 6 3/4 lbs. Ben is a gentle giant but with teeth. He loves belly rubs and cuddles.
George Washington at Wk 7 is 5 lbs. Don't be fooled by George's stoic face. He LOVES people and is the first to want pats and cuddles.

The heat just keeps on coming....
Although the pups have plenty of shade, cool stone bricks to lie on, a small pool to tip paws in as well as refreshing water, they were dunked today. It has been so hot lately and I felt a nice cool dunking was in order, so each of them had a turn experiencing our pool. I gently held them for a 'body dunk' and all of them did a dog paddle motion - sooo cute! I never let them go, of course! This was done to each and not a one cried or panicked. It seems they enjoyed the little dousing. :+)
Then I gave them some lunch and all took a nice nap in the shady pen outdoors. Ahhhh... such a life.

Current news on Nellie's litter.
Nellie has gone home to her guardians and the pups have not missed a beat. They play hard, investigate the play area at will and sleep well.
They all know how to negotiate the dogie door now so they go in and out at will. When I leave the house to do errands, I put them in an outside pen for safety. Sometimes, I keep them in the pup room if the sun has not reached the windows yet.
Often, I take turns putting one of them on the grooming table to brush, check ears, hold feet and open mouths to get them use to this process and to calm their fear of being off the floor. Repetition is key to them becoming comfortable in an otherwise stressful situation.
Daisy continues to be their role model now that mom is gone. She is a very tolerant nanny. I actually saw Molly flip on her back this morning with four feet in the air showing respect to Daisy as she cleaned up their bowl from breakfast. They learn lessons so quickly. :+)

Nellie's pups spend some time out in the puppy play-yard today.
Here are some candid shots of the pups enjoying some 'free time' with Nellie and Daisy out in the play yard. Daisy will take over the full time duties of training the pups about doggie language as Nellie goes back to her guardian family tomorrow.
George and mom synchronized walking!
YES! Abigail does have eyes and romps around.
Nellie teaching some of the pups manners.
SNACK TIME! Daisy is a wannabe momma.
'These are the rules: no teeth on nipples, no jumping.........'
Ben has two mommies telling him what to do.
George talking a stroll on the turf.
Betsy in the cart and Abigail waiting her turn.
Betsy with her 'sleepy eyes'.
Ben moseying along.
'Who, me'? Molly's face says it all.
