Not because the pups were a problem but watching the election! I did give them some Arnica to help them through the night but overall, they slept well.
This morning they were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready for a big breakfast. Once done, I let them out into the pup room to stretch their legs and play a bit. Aside from Appa needing to wear a collar to prevent him licking his surgical site, all are doing very well. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly they bounce back. :+) However, after you pick them up on Saturday, they still need about five more days of being on the quiet side. So gentle playing, no jumping and lots of common sense. The interior stitches will almost be healed by Saturday but the exterior ones need a few more days of supervised play.

TATE X EMMETT'S LITTER IS HOME FROM THEIR SURGERIES.
The boys are doing fine - even ate a small meal. The two females are sore and I separated them in a different pen than the boys. They both received a pain vaccine before I picked them up at 5 pm. This is typical - as the female surgery is always a bit 'more involved' than the boys. They are quiet at the moment but I don't expect it to last.
Tomorrow morning will bring less soreness. I expect the girls will still need some mending but the boys will be ready to play. They will all need to be kept on the quiet side with no outdoors.

WEEK 8 OF THE TATE X EMMETT LITTER!
I just about made it to take these pics - the sun was sinking incredibly fast with this time change!!
The pups were very good riders to the eye vet and there were no oopsies or vomiting - GOOD pups! As usual, people always stop to stare and admire a buggy with cute pups in it. :+) The exams went well with all having slight 'puppy' imperfections but no eye disease.
I decided to bring back the stars and stripes in honor of our presidential election. I am hopeful that all our Americans will cast their ballot.

HERE ARE TATE X EMMETT'S SIX WEEK PICS!
These puppies so enjoy playing with their cousins outside. They follow them all over the place and interact with families visiting happily. By doing this, both Orange and Green Boys, who are rather 'quiet' types are learning to interact much better with both two and four footed 'animals'. :+)
They are wrestling more when in their pens and anxiously peek over the barrier for attention when I am in the room. What a difference a week makes! I keep saying that because it is so true.

TATE X EMMETT LITTER - THREE WEEKS!
Having two litters only a week apart is such a lesson in the learning curve of pup development. Nellie's litter has grown by leaps and bounds during the 3 to 4 week marker. I never noticed it before as this is the first time I have had litters this close. Amazing! :+)
During this week, Tate's litter will be getting their mojo and fun pics will begin.

TATE2 X EMMETT LITTER - WEEK 2
Let me tell you, Monday Picture Day is an all day event with twelve puppies to do!!
Tate is doing awesome with her six pack. She nurses often and tends to their every need. In a few more days, I will be changing up their area to add a potty box and see how they do. Right now it is all about eat and sleep, eat and sleep and not much of anything else! I will say none of them were too happy to do the picture shoot today, I must have had to do at least five make-overs!!!
Hope you enjoy them.

Tate & Nellie
For the most part, these two moms are doing well living together in the same room with their puppies. It does make working with both litters easier for me - especially for daily weighing and doing Early Neurological Stimulation on 12 puppies!
Today, Tate's pups had a car ride and they were as quiet as church mice. :+)

TATE X EMMETT LITTER - Week One!
Yes, it has been busy here but the worse of it is keeping up with the constantly revolving door for three different groups of doodles. The moms need to go out separately and the house doodles need to do the same. I am a doorman, kitchen chef, pooper scooper and office manager. I wear many hats.
It won't be as bad when the moms return to their guardian homes as the 'high vigilance' will be replaced with keeping up with 12 puppies!!
Now I have a major confession, there really isn't any excuse but I have made a gender error on one of the pups - Lilac Girl is not a girl at all but a male!!! You can imagine my shock today as I was doing Early Neurological Stimulation on him and realized my mistake. So, I need to make some adjustments. The black female known as Yellow Girl is now going to be Black Girl and Lilac Boy will be labeled Yellow Boy. Sooo sorry for the confusion.

Individual newborn pics of the TATE X EMMETT litter.
This morning, I took Tate and her newborn family to my vets to have the pup's dew claws removed and to be checked out. Tate was also seen to be sure she was in good shape after her whelp and that her milk glands were producing properly. All is good.
Here are these little guys at two days of age!

TATE WHELPED IN THE WEE MORNING HOURS.
Although I am still blurry eyed, Tate did great and produced a rainbow litter as I had hoped. There are six total of which two are females and four are males.
Here is how they presented themselves:
Here is how they presented themselves:
- 2:20 am - Male, Yellow Collar. He was 8 1/8 ounces and is either apricot or caramel.
- 3:13 am - Male, Green Collar. Weighed 8 1/4 ounces and is a caramel.
- 3:38 am - Male, Orange Collar and he was a chunky one at 9 5/8 ounces and is a caramel.
- 3:47 am - Female, Rose Collar. She is chocolate but could turn to cafe' at maturity. She weighed 9 1/4 ounces.
- 4:19 am - Female, Black Collar. A tiny thing at 6 5/8 ounces and black as night.
- 4:48 am - Male, Brown Collar (has a blue collar in the pics). Another chocolate that could dilute to cafe'. Weighed 8 7/8 oz.
Remember that in many doodles, chocolates may dilute to lighter shades. All are doing well and Tate is attentive. Happily, she ate this morning and seems very content.

We have confirmation that Tate O'Reilly is also pregnant. :+)
Before we left to visit our son's family in Pennsylvania, an ultra sound was done on Tate and showed several puppies growing! Her estimated due date is Sept. 10th which is about a week after Nellie's are due. What a lovely time of year to welcome pups! :+)
Both litters will be going home around the first two weeks in November so those on their lists need to plan accordingly.

Happy to report that we finally had a mating between TATE X EMMETT this morning!
Hopefully, all will go well and pups will be arriving around the second week of September.

This mating has the potential to produce a myriad of colors: Apricot, Caramel, Red, Chocolate, Cream and Black! Sizes should range from 15 to 17 inches and weights 22 to 28 lbs. All is determined by Mother Nature even though I try to tell her 'which of what' I would prefer, she never listens.
Pups will be non shedding, some with curl others could be wavy - all will be fleece.

Tate seems to be stalling again! UPDATE!
So all plans for her mating have been cancelled at this time. As soon as I know when we will proceed, it will be posted. It could be she is having a split heat. Mother Nature ALWAYS keep breeders hopping with all the various obstacles that she can throw at us!
There is the possibility that I may need to switch studs to Emmett but I am not sure yet. With Emmett, Tate will produce chocolates, blacks, apricots and caramels. The size of the pups will range from 22 to 28 lbs.
Although I was really looking forward to having a litter using Ocean States Theo, I hope to use him with another girl in the future.
UPDATE: 7/13/16
Due to a lab error, I was unable to breed Tate to Theo as originally planned. Instead, I bred her to Emmett Piccolo and a successful mating was had. We hope that pups will arrive in early September.
