FINALLY! The Clara Belle x Clifford litter going home pics!!!

Here are the happy new owners of Clara Belles small, but lovely litter.

Albert, lovingly called 'fat Albert' as a chubby infant, has become the long awaited companion of this family. Dad has some bad allergies, but so far, has been doing extremely well. Congratulations Knowles Family!!! By all posts from you, all of you are totally enjoying Albert.

Smiles all around for Clancy! This couple lost their companion and were dearly wanting another to love. Clancy is a 'love sponge' doodle and I know will keep them 'exercising' for many more years. :+)

Lucky for them and unlucky for me 'Bella', known throughout this litter as 'Hazel' as I wanted to keep her, has become this couple's new addition. Mom says that 'Dad just lights up when he comes home to snuggle with Bella'. How sweet is that? :+)

Update on Hazel.

It is with great sadness that I must give up on Hazel becoming a breeder for Annabelle Doodles. When she went in for a check up, a tooth was not hitting correctly on her upper palate. As we both looked closer, it appears that her bottom jaw did not line up perfectly like it should. My vet felt it was a genetic condition (those darn recessive genes!!!) that could manifest in her litters. So, with lots of reluctance, I am culling her from my program. :+(

Included in the recessive lineup are under bites which are very common in this breed. However, as long as the bite does not impair eating, drinking or chewing, it is an acceptable condition for pet quality puppies. Of course, no responsible breeder would keep one to use for stock.

There are so many recessive genes that we cannot test for, so the only way you know your dog may be carrying them is when they 'express' themselves, such as what just happened. She will make someone a very special pet.

Hazel has an appointment to be spayed and also have the 'unruly' tooth removed to make way for her permanent tooth. Typically, with lots of tennis ball play, the mature tooth could come in just fine. Hazel playing with a ball is one of the therapies for this condition to improve. Funny, huh?

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Figgy will join our program. Time will tell! :+)

This is how pups do their laundry. (Clara x Clifford at 10 wks.)

As you can see, Hazel thinks laundry should be chewed not washed. This dish towel must be 'tasty'. I guess she won't be needing any soap (just kidding) to go with that. (9 & 3/4 lbs.)

Now Clancy thinks by looking really adorable that he won't have to do this chore. I think he may be right. (8 & 1/8 lbs.)

And Albert believes all this laundry is to make his sleeping quarters extra comfy. The jogging pants make a nice place to lie his lovely head. (11 & 1/2 lbs.)

This week the 'adolescents' are so enmeshed in our household that they do believe they will live here permanently. They use the dogie door 99% of the time and sit for their food as well as on command (knowing a treat is not far behind).

Both Albert and Clancy did great at the vets yesterday for their neuters. Today, you would never know it happened except for a very small incision on the belly area. Their next visit will be for round number 2 of the DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo & Para influenza) and Health Certificates and they are home bound!

Surgery Day!

Hi,

I will post pics tomorrow of Clara's litter as the boys had their surgeries today. They did well but have a bit of soreness. They ate, went to the bathroom and said hello to Hazel and Eloise. I am trying to keep them 'somewhat' calm. Ahem.

Finally, they slow down and relax. (3 posts Clara x Clifford)

I should have made this post the last one, but messed up my sequence. OOPS!

Clancy is my best sitter. I say the word and his little tush hits the floor. He did this one on his own with no coaxing from me.

Hazel's favorite spot continues to be the caterpillar. She has a penchant for a 'soft' bed.

Red Boy has run out of steam and is happy to curl up anywhere on the floor for a few zzzzzzz's.

Kitchen time for Clara x Clifford pups!

Trust me, there is enough energy from playing in the snow outdoors to bring into the kitchen for more 'rough and tumble'.

Here Hazel and Red Boy attack the tunnel.

Then they attack each other - this is REAL wrestling! Can you pick who is whom?

Eloise and Red Boy 'sharing' a ball. At least that is what I prefer to call it. :+)

I can't tell you who had the ball in the first place, but it appears that Clancy has it all to himself for the time being.

Nine weeks and I think the snow is making them grow faster! (Clara x Cliff litter))

Here are the latest pics of the 'snow bunnies'. They adore playing in it and since we have plenty, most of their picture backgrounds are of the white stuff. Thankfully, they have color and it is a rather pretty contrast. :+)

I would say that these babies are in my kitchen about 3/4 of the day, unless I have to go out somewhere. When I do, they are in the puppy room so they can go outdoors to potty as necessary. They are very good about this. They are also fed in there and sleep all night cuddled up with their over-sized teddy bear together in an x-pen. Nobody complains and lights are out at 10 PM. There are no excuses regarding bedtime such as another drink of water, or boogie men under the bear, or complains of snoring. They are content puppies. :+)

Red Boy is not named yet, as his owners want to mesh with him first before coming up with a suitable 'title'. I do believe they are working on his 'Pedigree Name' and I am waiting for that information. Till then, he is Red Boy and weighs 10 & 1/2 SOLID lbs. I do believe a Maine Moose is moving to New Jersey! :+)

I think you all know Hazel (8 lbs.) and Miss Eloise, who is peeking around the corner. She is always with the pups and mother hens them all the time. Both Hazel and Eloise are candidates for local guardian homes.

Here is Clancy! No more Green Boy for him! Yea! He is running full tilt in the snow and loving it. Clancy will always be the smallest sibling in the group at 7 lbs. A perfect 'package size' for his new owners.

Clara x Clifford at 8 weeks. (Two posts!)

The pups have been enjoying their kitchen time immensely. They adore snuggling with the large stuffed Caterpillar that lies on the floor for most of the day. Many times, Olive is in the kitchen with them and does not mind them around her. She is teaching excellent 'doggie' manners which normally their mother would provide. It is critical for puppies to have this exposure as it is teaching them how to behave properly in a dog world.

P.S. The pups went for their first puppy shots today and all did very well! I was thrilled that not a one of them complained in the car at all - no salivating, no barking, no whining, no vomiting - totally content. :+) No parasites either as I had their stools checked. My vet said they were exceptionally easy pups to examine and handle. Way to go pups!!!

------------------------------------------------

Red Boy, who is now 9 1/4 lbs., loves to grab a toy and run around with the others chasing him.

Green Boy at 6 1/2 lbs. still prefers to snuggle and cuddle. I am glad to see him stick up for himself now though. He wrestles and growls with his playmates but is definitely a 'lover not a fighter'.

And in true Hazel style, why should she sit when she can drape? Hazel is now 7 1/4 lbs.
HAZEL IS AVAILABLE FOR A LOCAL GUARDIAN HOME.
Please inquire.

Let's have a fiesta!! (Clara x Clifford)

Although the pups are totally enjoying the snow (and even the cold!), they are looking for a change of pace. So, I decided to dress them up in Hawaiian outfits and think SUNSHINE and WARMTH.

They were so very cooperative and I think they even enjoyed wearing the outfits. :+)

----------------------------------------------------------

Green Boy is definitely thinking about learning how to surf. Who could resist a strawberry blond guy with curls???

Red Boy is PRAYING for some 'fun in the sun' soon! He is ready for a bikini doggie parade.

Hazel Mae is is showing off her outfit with all the attitude she can muster. I do believe she is waiting for some 'bling' to be added. Hazel is available for a local guardian home placement.

Here are our 7 wk. pics and weights! (Clara x Clifford)

After the pups enjoyed the snow, they settled down and dried off. I placed each of them on my chair in our den and took a pic of their heads and one of them sitting down. They did really well and are developing into lovely Labradoodles. :+)
_____________________________________

Hazel is first this week and she will have dark liver pigment and hazel eyes. (I guess she was aptly named, huh?) Hazel weighs 6 & 1/2 lbs. at seven wks. old.

Red Boy tilted his head just as I snapped. I just LOVE pups that do head tilts! As you can see he has black nose pigment. Still a whopper at 7 & 3/4 lbs. at the seven week marker.

Our little Green Boy is chock full of curls and cuddles. He always wants to be close to you just in case a kiss or pat is available. Like Hazel, he has liver pigment. The smallest of the pups at 5 & 1/2 lbs. at seven weeks.

Pups enjoy the new falling snow! (Clara Belle x Clifford litter)

On Clara's pups 7th week birthday, we woke up to more falling snow. These babies love the snow as do most of my puppies. Here are some shots of them frolicking.

Green Boy was dashing hither and dither chasing his littermates.

Here are the two brothers running to meet up with their sister, Hazel.

Hazel was ready and waiting for them to join her.

Red Boy thinks snow is yummy!

Olive later joined them to play. She is very good with them. Lord knows, she will be repeating this with her own litter very soon.

Sooo smart at 6 weeks! (Clara x Clifford litter)

Small litters are like having an only child - there is so much of your time to give because it is not being spread over so many. These three pups also have the added advantage of Eloise Moppet, their 'adopted' big sis. Eloise feels it is up to her to teach them all about the doggie door and all its advantages. They are very good students, happily trailing after her as she proudly shows them the ropes. Elle also wrestles with them, plays tug, chase, 'roll over', and King of the Mountain. Hazel, is like any little sister, always has something to say and does not let her big sis take advantage. The boys, however, let Eloise boss them around. Some things never change whether it is dogs or kids. :+)

Green Boy continues to be a cuddle bug. If I am in there, he is by my side wanting my lap. (5 1/4 lbs.)

Red Boy is still the biggest pup and learning to become more independent. (7.0 lbs.)

Hazel tries to outsmart Eloise everyday. She looks so innocent. :+) (5 3/4 lbs.)

Just because they are so darn cute and fun! (Clara x Clifford litter)

I went to get my camera because they were having so much fun this morning playing with Eloise. All of them did go out the doggie door briefly, so I think it won't be long before that will be a common occurrence.

Here is Red Boy. Loves to chase my feet! I had to put myself into their x-pen in order to take shots otherwise, they follow me everywhere. :+)

Hazel Mae has the longest eyelashes!

Green Boy loves to be close to you and stare into your eyes. He is a total lovebug.

The threesome!

This shoot was so cute, I had to include it. Elle with Red Boy.
