It looks like spring will be a very busy, busy time!

Hopefully, all is well with Camden out in California. She will be returning to the East Coast at the end of February.  I know Jaxon (the stud), Annabelle (the Teaser), Dr. Estle and her vet tech, Carrey as well as myself did everything possible to assure a mating from this coast.  The facility in California told us that semen motility and both Transcervial Artificial Inseminations went like clockwork and now we all just need to wait.

With that behind us, I was just enjoying normalcy again when the call came through that Tillie (Dancing Matilda) is in season.  We will be breeding her with either a black and white parti boy in Maine or a red and white parti boy in Canada.  So, it will be an easy breed locally or a few days traveling.  Either boy is adorable and will produce wonderful pups so that is not a concern.  Weather for traveling is however, so let's all wish for crisp New England weather with no storms, okay??

UPDATE 1/23/14:  Unfortunately, circumstances beyond my ability have happened and I have to nix both the above boys for a Tillie breeding.  One boy is an IC Carrier (so is Tillie), so I must skip him. Stumbling blocks regarding border passage to Canada is the second issue.  However, I have not given up the fight just yet. Stay tuned for 'news as it happens'.

Tillie and Jaxon had a 'date' today!

There was a group of us at the vets today getting Tillie prepared for her big date.  Lil Jaxon tried and tried but without the help of a 'stepstool', he just was not tall enough.  So he was collected and produced a whooping 6 million sperm to inseminate into Tillie.  They will meet again at the vets on Monday for a repeat performance.  Then, Jaxon will go back home to his guardians and Tillie's mom will watch her like a hawk for pregnancy symptoms!  :+)

If we were successful, adorable, mini, parti marked puppies should be coming around mid July!  A busy summer is projected between Tillie's possible litter and Figgy's litter due in June.

Unfortunately, this mating did not take and Tillie is not pregnant.  No one is more disappointed than I am.  I have been looking forward to this pairing for a long time.  Bummer.  Hopefully, a mating when she next cycles will be successful.

EXCITING NEWS!!!

This morning I received a phone call from Dancin' Matilda's guardian that she is finally cycling!  We are both so thrilled as this breeding has been anticipated for almost two years!!!  I immediately contacted Jaxon's guardians to 'be on alert' for an impending date and called my vet to schedule appointments to get the timing 'just right'. 

Once the 'wine and roses honeymoon' is over, I will not sleep at night wondering what sort of patterns and parti combinations Tillie will be carrying.  It has been a dream of mine to add a Black and White female to my breeder program for years and years, so please keep your fingers crossed that one may be presented.  :+)
