FYI
Unfortunately, for the past few days, we were without Internet or Wifi, so if anyone was trying to contact me, I was not receiving anything so could not respond. It has finally been fixed just in time for tomorrow's pictures! Whew, I was sweating it. :+)

PLEASE READ THE PUPPY PREP LINKS!!!!
Hey everyone getting a pup from the Jonnie x Hobbs litter - do you realize that under the Puppy Prep Link TAB at the top of the Home Page of my website is a plethora of information on supplies, assignments, training, critical stages to watch for and much more??? I specifically have that page as a potential reference for all my customers! Please use the tools that I have provided as it is a great source of information and covers pretty much all your concerns and questions. Although I am always available to answer questions, I would truly appreciate you reading my website thoroughly before asking questions my website already answers. Thank you! :+)

A terrific link for those of you with children that want a dog so badly.
Learning dog signals is critical for a successful companion. Remember BOTH you AND the pup need to be comfortable with each other.

'Comfort and Joy' for my elderly doodles!
I have been breeding Labradoodles for almost 16 years now and I know there are still many of my early pup buyers with elderly doodles.
Ms. Harriet Potter will be 15 years of age on January 6th. One morning, she came down the stairs with a limp on her right front leg. I immediately thought she had something stuck on her foot, which she did not. After a couple of days, with the limp still evident, I brought her to my vet. After the exam and x-ray, nothing was found, so they put her on a pain med. As you know, I prefer healing from the inside out not masking issues.
While at the Tractor Supply Store, I found a product that changed everything: LIQUID - VET for HIPS & JOINTS. I decided to try it in the Pot Roast flavor. In less than four days, Harriet was no longer limping and I just knew she was feeling better. Willis (12) was also feeling her age, so I gave it to her as well and she is leaping back into my husband's truck with a wagging tail. This product has put the bounce back into my elderly doodles' step. :+)
When I was reading the ingredients, I was so impressed that this product contains FOUR of the best known ingredients to protect joints and cartilage. It certainly has made a difference in the comfort of my elderly girls and wanted to share the amazing results with this product.

WISHING ALL MY PAST, CURRENT AND FUTURE CUSTOMERS....
A WONDERFUL AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!
It is truly unfortunate that I cannot do this on my home page but I simply cannot miss an opportunity to shout from the rooftops how grateful I am for all of you. I know my pups have gone to fabulous families because we all understood what we needed, wanted and hoped for.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for contacting ADNE!
| Left to right: Harriet Potter, Olive Oyl, Willis McParti and Daisy Mae Duke. |
With any luck, Daisy will have another easy, but large litter at the end of this month or perhaps on New Year's Eve. I will post the event here when it happens. Please send good thoughts for Daisy. :+)

For those willing...some are coming in....:+) PLEASE SEND PICS TO MY EMAIL! THANKS.
I would love to have some Halloween pics of ADNE Doodles sent to me to use for my homepage.
Since I won't have any litters for a while, I would love to put up a cute Halloween pic. Any takers out there? If you remember which litter(s) they were from, please add that. Otherwise, I need to go through all my folders! Thanks. :+)
So far I have chosen the following to add to my Home Page rotation:

I thought I would give some updates on my potential breeders!
My Guardian Homes have been wonderful about providing me with pics of my future hopefuls and I am so excited to be able to share them with all of you. Soon, a couple of them will begin my testing protocol and that will determine who begins a career with ADNE and who will be strictly a pet. It is always my hope that all I hold back will be able to produce future puppies, but I do live in the real world and accept disappointment as well. Above all, being a guardian for ADNE is that each pup is a pet first and foremost! Training, love, adventures and a solid temperament are critical for BOTH a healthy well rounded pet or breeder.
So, here are a few of my ADNE hopefuls that are over six months of age.
I would also like to comment that all my Guardian Home breeders will be required to be fed Life's Abundance unless they are sticking to the raw diet. It is the safest kibble available and produced by a holistic vet with 20 years in dog nutrition. No other kibble has that claim - oh...never a recall either!

A scheduled break.
Annabelle Doodles of New England will have a break from breeding and puppies until around December/January when we hope to breed Charlotte 2-Step for pup homes in the early spring. I already have several applications in her file so don't know if any more will be available until she whelps. Of course, you can send in applications any time and we will see what Mother Nature provides. :+)
I am not positive who her mate will be yet. Hopefully Wyatt which will bring a litter of blacks, chocolates and creams in a medium size. If I use Lil Abner, it will be a mixture of minis and mediums in apricots. I may also use an 'outside stud' from another breeder if one interests me. The best part of breeding are the many stud possibilities to choose from! I feel like a matchmaker at times. :+)
It will be one of the very few times I do not have puppies during the holidays and we are looking forward to visiting family and friends during this break. Last year, I had Christmas dinner in the oven while whelping a litter of pups from Miss Charlotte!
So I am wishing all patrons past, present and future a wonderful and safe holiday season!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MY FURRY GUARDIAN 'MOM'S'!
And let's not forget the wonderful moms that care for them 24/7 - without all of you, Annabelle Doodles could not offer puppies to so many families.
THANK YOU! Grandmommy Joyce :+)

Whew! Our power is back!
Unfortunately, we could not have our Thanksgiving Day turkey dinner as a nasty snowstorm hit us hard and we had no electricity - bummer! However, we will be celebrating it on Saturday instead and we have a lot to be grateful for.
So, if you have been trying to reach me for anything, you now know why I could not respond. I do believe a generator is in our future - our very near future. :+)
To update, Camden's litter is growing like crazy and love to run around the pup room and my kitchen every now and again. Tillie is doing great with her little babies - they are nice and plump, content and beautiful. Every time I look at them, I think of a small box of chocolates and caramels. Soooo yummy.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL and I look forward to the Christmas season.

HAPPY THREE YEAR OLD BIRTHDAY TO: Callie, Brewster, Cody, Lily, Mac and Felix!
Olive and Chico's litter! I can't believe three whole years have gone by. I hope there are many more years of sloppy, wet kisses and tail wags. :+)

I am at a lull here at Annabelle Doodles. It has been
a good time to spend a week with my daughter painting her large kitchen area; then spend a few days nursing a cold (good timing!) and visiting.
I still don't know if Eloise is pregnant or not but will find out in a couple of weeks. I am keeping my fingers crossed to see my very first litter of 'micro' minis ever produced by Annabelle Doodles and quite possibly the first in the United States!
Both Figgy and Tillie are taking their time coming into their breeding season, so we all must wait until Mother Nature makes the decision. :+( Be patient because I think both these litters will be 'crazy' adorable! It is my hope that Tillie will produce the black and white parti markings that I have been waiting years for; and Figgy's mating to Rodeo should produce gorgeous puppies in a medium size with strong boning. So looking forward to both litters!! I am also hoping they are spread enough apart to not have BOTH litters at the same time. Oi!

Car rides.
At a Pat Hastings seminar I attended, she mentioned that three car rides for newborns under 10 days old contributed greatly to them 'imprinting' the ride as a positive experience. This typically prevented pups/dogs from developing car anxiety or motion sickness in the future.
Well, I did this experiment with Olive's litter as she DOES have car anxiety (although much, much better). I am very happy to report that everyone told me that their trip home was uneventful - this was huge! Two went to Massachusetts, one to Maine and two to NY. Some trips were over 4 hours!
Today, I took Pearl's pups for their third newborn ride and I am hoping for equally impressive reports when it is departure time.
It is a chilly day here and I just started to see a snowflake or two!!

Breeding preferences.
Unlike most breeders that prefer lots of 'fair' weather litters, I enjoy having some time off in the summer and begin breeding in earnest by early fall through the winter months. Yes, it is a pain to have the moms whelp litters when it is snowing or icing but I seem to thrive on this schedule. I am sure it is because our winters here in Southern Maine are long and having litters of adorable puppies to entertain you makes the Winter season go by quickly. Plus, there are a number of holidays which brings lots of visitors for socializing. :+)
With this said, I just received a very excited call from the guardians of Muddie Pearl stating that she is 'in season'. They have waited a long time for this 'event'! So, Pearl's litter will arrive when Olive's litter is very close to going to their new homes. Excellent timing, Pearl! Then, I expect Tillie will be next (with black and white parti pups!) and perhaps Camden with creams and apricots. It appears, I will have a very busy winter season and I like it that way.
I could have numerous litters, but I prefer not to. Puppies require lots of time and effort. Even overlapping litters can sometimes be overwhelming given I am always welcoming visitors to view and play with the pups. Timing is everything. So, I may just have to do the 'Eeny, meeny, miny, moe' game to see who will have litters for the 2012 - 2013 season. It is sure to be an interesting one given all the possible combinations of patterns, colors and textures that this winter's line up will bring! Of course, Olive is starting it out with a bang with a full rainbow litter of colors expected. :+)

Beautiful BLACKS!

I am one of the few breeders that embrace black Labradoodles and these beauties deserve this spotlight. Olive, on the left is a prime example of a wavy fleece-coat and Capriccio aka Capi is a perfect example of a curly fleece-coat. Both these Labradoodles are easy to comb and maintain. Their coats can be left longer because of the way the hair lies smoothly against their bodies. Most wool coats 'spring' outwards and become very frizzy when long; whereas, single coated fleeces lay and blow in the breeze. Please don't think that I don't like wool coats, because I most certainly do! I think nothing is cuter than a Labradoodle with a plethora of curly rings. However, curly wools should be kept short for easier maintainance for you and more comfort for the Labradoodle.
Owning several wools as well as fleece coated dogs - I always keep them shorter in the summer so that they can enjoy our pool to keep cool and for exercise. My fleeces dry in less than an hour, but the wools remain damp for several.

Matchmaker, matchmaker...make me a match!
Fortunately, her guardian's vacation and Camden's final testing protocol coincided perfectly.
Cappy is happy as a clam to have another friend to play with and he is not aware yet, that Camden is slated to be one of his breeding partners when he is cleared for breeding.
They took to each other right away and have been playing and sleeping near each other since her arrival.
Sometimes, I swear they whisper 'sweet nothings' in each ones ears. It is very cute to watch as they play bow, chase, wrestle and sometimes sit together in the little yellow sandbox car to rest.
Camden has a lovely soft medium curling cream coat and is non-shedding. I think it will be a great pairing and look forward to it in about a year. In the meantime, when Camden comes into heat, it will be with a different stud as Cappy is not quite ready yet.

THE FIRST ANNABELLE DOODLE ROMP IS PLANNED!
For those of you that I might have missed on my 'mass mailing', please mark your calendar for SATURDAY, JUNE 23, 2012 to join us at the Berwick Bark Park in Berwick, Maine from 11 to 3 PM.
The park's website is: http://www.berwickbarkpark.com It is brand new and very clean. The area is fully fenced and has running water to fill water bowls and swimming pools. A dogie toilet station with bags and a lovely 'chow truck' for us humans to have some yummy food/sandwiches/drinks is provided. Again, their website has a link for the food menu and price list. There is also a Port A Potty for two legged attendees, some chairs for sitting and amble off road parking. The website has an address so you can plug it into your navigational systems. The owners are Chris and Mary and they will be there to be sure all is well. (Me, too!)
There is a $10.00 admittance fee to help defray the cost of renting the area for the day but I felt this would be so much better than having it at my house with limited space for parking and doodle running! By the way, I am planning to have 3 games that should be fun to participate in. Hopefully, there will be enough doodles to join in! Lastly, I would love to have a dog costume parade or best hat on a doodle! Something silly and fun. :+) Any one game???
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please email me at: joycetabor@gmail.com

The AnnaBlog has a new face.
Hello Everyone!
I know this may seem confusing for a bit, but we will get use to the new format options soon.
We decided to upgrade to make viewing easier by utilizing a newspaper or 'magazine' type format. You can see lots more with less scrolling. :+) Futhermore, if you click on many of the individual posts, they will expand to show more postings and pics. Just use the back arrows or the Home button on the upper right to get back to the beginning. Click 'links' to return to the Home Page of our website.
Please note that there is a 'scroll down' menu in the black box on the left called 'magazine'. You can change how you wish to view the AnnaBlog by clicking on the many viewing options.
I am hopeful we will all enjoy the new features as I stumble and bumble through all these new changes!
