ADNE JONNIE CACHE

To my great delight I was able to purchase this little nugget from Marci of Tango Wool Labradoodles.  I took a trip down to eastern Massachusetts and watched the litter for a bit before making my choice.  It was between her and a sweet little boy but I really wanted a female.  A couple weeks later, I brought JONNIE CACHE to Maine.  Didn't take long to be blessed with a guardian inquiry from a familiar family who was ready for a second doodle from ADNE!  It was a perfect fit!

WORDS FROM HER GUARDIANS:
Lil Jonnie and BFF Murphy
Nine years ago we started the search for the right family-dog.  With three young children, we had a long list of requirements.  After extensive research, we discovered ADNE and fell in love with these doodles.  We waited for one of the liters and eventually adopted Murphy Tucker.
Murphy immediately became part of our family.  He is a loving, gentle, kind doodle, who will do anything for a tennis ball.  When Murphy turned 6, we started discussions about adding another doodle to the family.  We went back to ADNE and searched for the next litter.
At the time, there weren’t any puppies to adopt.  However, Joyce asked if we would be a guardian to a little girl.  She sent us a picture of Jonnie Cache, and it was love at first sight.  We went down to meet Jonnie, and knew it was the right fit.  Even Murphy approved.  So Jonnie became part of our family.
Jonnie is such a fun, loving little girl.  Jonnie spent many of her puppy days at puppy camp – socializing with other dogs and learning her manners.  She enjoys meeting new dogs and playing.  She spends the warm months at the lake, chasing Murphy and is starting to enjoy swimming, like Murphy.

Every morning Jonnie and Murphy play together.  They adore one another.
She is a typical little sister and loves to antagonize Murphy until he agrees to play.
Jonnie is full of energy and loves to take walks with the kids, run around, and be with people.  She is also a cuddler.  When we sit, Jonnie usually jumps up on our lap to be loved. She also loves to curl up next to the kids when they are sleeping.
Jonnie has fit right in with our family.

Christy 'BRINKLEY' has joined our breeding program!

I am so delighted that Brinkley has passed her testing and will hopefully produce sweet puppies that are just like her and her Momma, Daisy who is now retired.  Daisy is my velcro doodle and is extremely loving, sweet and tolerant.  It is this exact type of temperament that Labradoodles are so well known for.  Surely, both of her daughters, Ms. Sadie Benz and Brinkley will follow in her pawsteps :+)

Here are some words from her guardians:

We were hesitant to get another dog only a short while after losing both our beloved 14 yr. old mini labradoodles, Puck and Riley. But our daughter, who was a guardian for a year-old ADNE pup, encouraged us to consider looking at a gorgeous female for whom Joyce needed a guardian home. Once we saw and held Brinkley we were smitten.

This sweet girl was not a replacement for our dogs, but she immediately filled our home with the joy and heart that was missing with her own delightful personality.

We were familiar with the breed, so knew in that sense she was a perfect fit. Brinkley’s manageable size means she can curl up on a chair with me to read or watch TV. She is sturdy and strong enough to enjoy walks and hikes, but if we have inclement weather and can’t get a good walk in, she easily adapts without being antsy or fretful. She loves a good romp with other dogs and was a standout pupil in dog training class. Her groomer adores her and Brinkley loves water, whether in a bath or swimming in the lake. She is a good rider who enjoys both car and boat rides. Her overall temperament is even and mellow.

Brinkley will alert us with a sharp bark if someone approaches our home, but then settles once she’s done her job. We love her wavy non shedding coat that draws everyone to pet her, which she relishes. We have three young granddaughters and Brinkley is wonderful with them. She is always ready to engage in a game of catch or chase, but also quick to settle and just cuddle.

We were unfamiliar with guardianship until our daughter contracted with ADNE for her dog, Sadie. We were able to observe how that worked - and how well it worked - with considerate and cooperative partners. So, we agreed to sign on and thus far it has been a seamless partnership. We couldn’t be happier with Brinkley and we can’t imagine our home without her.

This was the cutest pic ever of Sadie (back seat) and Brinkley (the driver):

Driving Miss Sadie!!!

Ms. Sadie Benz has joined our ADNE breeder status!

Sadie is the first pup I kept back for a possible breeder from her dear mother, Daisy.  She is a chip off the ol' block but in chocolate.  When her guardian mom, Brittany inquired about her, it was truly a perfect placement.  Not only does Sadie live very close to my vet in Rochester, I go right past their street on my way there!  It doesn't get better than that for convenience.  :+)

Sadie has two young ladies who adore her and she travels to school pretty much every day as mom drops off the youngest.

Beautiful fleece coat.

Sadie also has a 'cottage by a lake'  to enjoy during vacation times and attends many hockey rink games.  This girl gets a lot of socialization!  She is beautiful in and out with a stunning fleece coat.

At the cabin.

STATS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Date of Birth:  August 13, 2017 from a mating of Daisy and Emmett Piccolo.  Both parents are non shedding and friendly to all.  Sadie is 17 inches in height and weighs about 26 lbs.  She has a perfect wavy fleece coat that is still chocolate at over a year of age.  Sadie's color DNA and pattern is as follows:  bbEe, Kb/Ky, at/at.  She does not carry for parti but can express phantom if bred to the right mate.
  • Cleared by Parents through DNA test results for: Incorrect Coat, Exercise Induced Collapse, Degenerative Myelopathy, von Willenbrand's Disease and Progressive Rod Atrophy.

What her Guardians say about Sadie:

After my parents adopted two labradoodles nearly 15 years ago I fell in love with the breed. Having grown up in Berwick and having labradoodles, we were made aware of ADNE and have enjoyed following her blog for years. As my own children started getting older and my husband and I contemplated the addition of a dog to our family, I knew it would be an ADNE doodle for our family.

It seemed like fate that morning when I looked on the page and saw Ms Sadie Benz’s little face and after meeting her, I knew she was just right for our family.

Sadie is the joy of our family. My husband is an early riser, around 5am and Sadie lays happily in her bed while he gets ready for work. She gets up with me and spends the morning downstairs following me about as I do my chores; but the moment I ask if she wants to go wake up 'her' girl she is upstairs and in my younger daughter’s bed before you can blink.

My teenage daughter’s friends all insist on coming in to see Sadie. They love to pick her up and cuddle her and Sadie happily obliges, loving the attention. When they put her down she immediately looks for them to play her favorite game with her - ball! She loves to chase a bouncing ball and bring it right back. I must say while she brings it back she is not quick to drop it, because a good game of chase can’t be beat!

My younger daughter’s friends all know where we keep the Cheerios, Sadie’s favorite little treats. They need only open the jar and Sadie is there- sits, lies down and rolls over. Of course laughter ensues as the kids are delighted that Sadie can read their minds.

Sadie is full of spunk around the kids, but most days while they are at school, she is home with me. She follows me from room to room as I work around the house and when I stay in one place long enough she curls up at my feet and relaxes. She rides with me as I pick them up and drop them off at their various activities - a great companion.

In the evening, when everyone is finally home Sadie’s favorite words are “Want to cuddle?” She jumps up on the couch with whomever asked and curls right in. When my youngest was sick she never left her side, comforting her.

Ms Sadie Benz is a constant delight in our family. I think best put by my daughter

“Can you even remember life without Sadie, what was the point?”

ADNE 'THADDEUS' DOOD - RETIRED Stud.

8 weeks.

When Thaddeus was whelped, I was so excited to have my first phantom marked puppy.  I had been color DNA planning for quite some time and my goal to produce phantoms in the future was becoming a reality.  Since Thad's birth, I have been fortunate enough to purchase an additional male and a female from two unrelated breeding programs to hopefully produce more of them in the future.  My fingers are crossed that these new purchases will pass my testing protocol as well as Thaddeus has!

WORDS FROM THADDEUS' GUARDIAN:

When I was considering getting a dog, I had some particular considerations, allergies being the most significant.  I also live in a small ranch house and, though I have a good-sized yard for play, I wanted a smaller dog that would “fit” my house and not be something of a bull in a China shop.  I did a considerable amount of research relative to allergies and began to focus-in on doodles.  Then, for some months, I made a point of approaching every doodle and doodle owner I encountered to interact with the dogs and discuss the allergy issue with the owner as well get a sense of temperament and energy level, etc.  I quickly came to the conclusion that a labradoodle (and particularly, an Australian Labradoodle) was the dog for me.  I researched local breeders and settled on Annabelle Doodles, partly because of proximity, but, primarily because I appreciated Joyce’s more natural approach to breeding in general.

Then it was merely an issue of size.  As I said, I wanted a dog to fit my space.  Also, I’m getting a little older myself and wanted a dog that was small enough for me to lift comfortably.  On the other hand, I also wanted a dog that was big enough to run and play with me and to keep up.  Originally, I had Joyce put me on a list for a “medium” litter.  However, after meeting a number of labradoodles in my neighborhood and around town, I began to be concerned that, if my medium turned out to be of the larger variety, it may be considerably bigger than I wanted.  At the time (rather coincidentally), Joyce had a new litter of miniatures that included a phantom (black with brown) that she was interested in placing as a potential stud.  She guesstimated that this particular pup’s ultimate weight would be about 28lbs.  That seemed about the perfect size for me and I jumped at the chance to be the guardian of Thaddeus Dood.

That was a year ago and Thaddy is now the little man about my house.  I work at home and so he and I spend considerable time taking breaks in the yard playing ball or frisbee.  He has a tendency to want to hang onto his toys and not return them to me but Cheerios work wonders and he will fetch and return his frisbee all day for a little “o” reward.  He is energetic and ready to go out and play any time but not before sitting obediently at the door to allow me to put on his collar.  He’s very good with other dogs and wants to play, play, play with them.  He can be cautious and protective when first meeting new people but, in a matter of seconds, or a minute or two, he is hopping all around them, tail wagging like mad.  I suspect partly because of his nature and partly because of training, he rarely ever barks.  As energetic as he is, he also enjoys quiet time and will snooze or occupy himself with a toy while I read or play music.  He’s incredibly well behaved, smart as a whip and a wonderful companion.

STATS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Date of Birth:  7-11-2017.  A mating of ADNE Lil Abner x 'Gunny'.  Both parents are non-shedding.

Hoping to add a little cutie to ADNE!

On Monday, I will brave the Fourth of July traffic onslaught to visit a breeder friend in Massachusetts to view her litter of adorable miniatures.   There is one that I am particularly interested in and she is a black and apricot phantom marked little girl with a white goatee.  From pictures, she has what I am looking for in new pedigree lines, size and type.  I am pretty sure her coat will have some curl but will be able to judge better once I can see, feel, hold and watch her move.  I am VERY excited about this possibility as I have been wanting a female phantom mini for several years.  Recently I added an unrelated chocolate phantom male miniature to my program as well as a black and light tan one.  However, none of them have gone through my vigorous testing protocol yet as they are all too young.  As a breeder, you invest in several types of what you hope to produce in the future and keep your fingers crossed that one might hit all the markers to become a breeder.

Of course, there are also some very cute apricots in the same litter and one of those might smitten me, so I am keeping an open mind as all the pups will carry for the black and apricot combination.  Learning about colors and patterns is extremely interesting to me and I enjoy this genetic learning curve.  Working with a breeder I know very well is also a huge plus.  :+)

This is the girl I am most interested in:

With her adorable white goatee, there is a very good chance she is a Tri Phantom Pattern which is very similar to the markings of a Bernese Mountain Dog.  Her paternal grand-daddy is a full Tri and gorgeous.  The fact that she is staring right into the camera shows confidence at such a young age (five weeks).

Once I return, I will have new pics and more info.  I will also be looking for a local (under and hour) guardian home for her.  If all goes well, I expect her placement to be around July 18th or so.

Little DUCKIE MALLARD'S Page

Oh goodness!  This little man is just 'duckie'!  Fifteen (six months) pounds of adorable!!  I bet if he gets to 20 lbs, that would be pushing it.  I had been searching for quite some time for another miniature male stud hopeful now that Lil Abner is retired.  Happily, this little boy became available and the big bonus was that he is a chocolate and tan phantom that also carries for the parti gene - that made me smile.

Although I had named him Credence, I decided to change it to DUCKIE MALLARD and he lives with another ADNE stud named Phineas T. Barnum and they get along great.  Big brother shows him the ropes and provides protection from creatures big and small that might scare Duckie.

Lucky little pup also gets to join his friends weekly at his day care facility and they all love him there.  A friendly, willing to please kind of guy (definitely food motivated) he certainly is growing up happy and loved.  Let's keep asking the testing angels to gift him with great results in a few more months.  :+)

Showing off his patches of white on his chin and chest.  You can also barely see his tan phantom markings on his feet and spread lightly over his cheeks.  When he is trimmed up, it will show up more.  His silky curls are sooo soft!

If you make the pic larger, you can see his gorgeous green eye.  He does have two of them!  :+)

What his guardians have to say about Duckie:

It was over a year ago and our first ADNE Doodle, Phineas, had just turned 8 when our daughter, Abby, started the campaign for a mini Phinny.   After the joy Phinny has brought us,  along with how great Joyce is to work with and her quality standards and love for her dogs, we knew we had to call Joyce.  As luck would have it, just a couple months later Duckie arrived.  It was love at first sight, at least for Billy, Abby and I.  Phineas didn’t think a lot of him at first.  Duckie showed us right away that although he was very small in size, he was huge in personality.  We started finding shoes, slippers, and all of the dog toys go missing.  We soon found out Duckie like to store them all under the bed where Phinny couldn’t fit.

One day as I sat in the living room I watched Duckie from underneath an ottoman grab one toy at a time and pull them under the ottoman as Phinny watched on growling under his breath.  Then only one toy remained and it was right in front of Phinny.  Coming out from under the ottoman all you saw was one paw reach out very slowly right in front of Phinny and pull the one last remaining toy under the ottoman.  Duckie then came out the other side with the last toy he had captured in his mouth and pranced around with great pride.

Duckie was determined to get Phinny to play with him and love him.  He did not give up on Phinny, continuing to try to initiate play.  Soon enough Phinny gave in and could not help but like him too.  They are now best buds playing together all the time, and cuddling.

Duckie is very mischievous and stubborn.  It is fortunate for us as we put him through training we quickly learned he’ll do anything for food. He was a very quick learner when food was involved. However, he is so smart and I think he has learned to act up just in order to get ‘cookies’.   We also never have to worry wondering if Duckie wants something for he will certainly ask.  He talks in this little whine and makes it quite clear what he is after.

When Duckie isn’t up to his shenanigans he is such a cuddle-bug.  Sometimes I think he is part cat as he snuggles right in on our laps or is rubbing against my legs and sitting on my feet as I do the dishes.  He just loves to be touching someone.  It is not uncommon to wake up in the morning to find him sleeping on my head or snuggling under my chin.

Duckie loves to play with all other dogs, but he is a little shy around people.  It takes a while for him to trust those he doesn’t know.  After folks have been around awhile he may get curious on his terms.  However, if the strangers offer up some food they become an instant friend at least until he has captured the food.  😊

We can’t imagine our home now without our boys, Phinny and our little Duckie.

ELSIE MALLOY has joined our Current Breeder status!

Finally, all the testing done on this adorable miniature have come in and Elsie will join the ADNE family.  She is a dear and I am sure her little pups will fill many owners with laughter and mayhem!

When the family came to meet the litter, I was smitten by how much she favored the children in hair color.  Elsie seemed to fit right in.

Words from her Guardians:

Our boys have always wanted a dog, but our younger son has allergies and we never thought dogs were an option. After a little research we decided a "doodle" might work for us.  We contacted Joyce and saw that Elsie was available. Joyce invited us to visit to make sure the allergies didn't kick in and thank goodness they didn't!  A few weeks later we brought Elsie back to her new home and she has become an important part of our family ever since.
She's a cheerful puppy who is always ready for a tummy rub or a good play session. She loves to get out and run whether at the beach or through a woodsy trail.  Without fail we are stopped on walks and asked about her wonderful color (which also matches the color of our sons' hair) and her happy personality. Elsie goes into a full body wag with anticipation when she meets dogs or people. At home, she is a sweet puppy who loves to find a high perch on the back of a couch and watch the day go by. She is a truly joyful companion.

I love that she gets to meet lots of children and adults and goes on walks in the woodland and lives close enough to the lovely Maine shore.
