Lil Abner

I just received the cutest pic of Lil Abner. I believe he is taking painting lessons from his guardian. Perhaps a furry Picasso in the making?

Lil Abner came for a short visit today.

Abner is my mini stud. He is all of 20 lbs. and such a funny, frisky, friendly guy. He loves people and all dogs that want to play with him.

I would consider Abner a very soft, curly quality wool as he has no harsh kemp fibers in his coat (but other breeders tell me he is a curly fleece). He loves to be groomed and just melts next to his guardian for his brushing sessions. Abner does not shed.

Although energetic, I am beyond thrilled with how he listens to his guardian as they have an amazing connection that shows how hard both of them have worked to develop it. Kudos to them both!

I also can say that he has had his first date and it went wonderfully. 'Lil' Abner is going to enjoy his job very much. All of us are very happy about that.

Here are some pics of this adorable 'teddy bear' mini stud.

Look at the length of his tongue!

He is one of Gunny's 'intended' and is already whispering sweet nothings in her ear!

A happy, happy little guy.

Has amazing balance and may be an agility participant soon.

He does love to interact with other dogs.

Received great news last night that our Lil Abner...

has passed his Canine Good Citizenship test! I am so pleased and a big SHOUT OUT to his guardian for working so hard for this achievement!

Abner is a smart little guy and knows it. His guardian has stayed on task and I wish they would give her a Blue Ribbon!!  :+)

Here is my little man looking pretty smug after his first professional hair cut. Testing (and new pics) will be done on him next month. I sure hope he will become a stud for ADNE.

Lil Abner and MacGregor have some fun together today.

These brothers from the Hazel x Emmett litter are a bit over 16 weeks old and boy do they have a frolicking good time together!

Of course, both of them were a mess afterwards but some drying off time and a good shake and all is well.  :+)

They ran and chased and wrestled for well over an hour!

King of the Snowpile was also a favorite.

I am not quite sure if MacGregor had to sneeze or was getting ready to give Lil Abner payback! OUCH!

A dirty doodle is a happy doodle.  :+)

Lil' Abner is a small boy in a BIG package! RETIRED

Abner and his guardian mom.

Instead of keeping a female from the Hazel x Emmett litter, I kept Lil' Abner. Initially, he was not my 'first choice', he just grew on me. I loved his temperament, size, tail and ear set. He has expressive eyes and a very loving nature. Abner likes to be with you and is a willing and energetic learner.

I think Lil' Abner will be a great addition to the my program as well as to other Labradoodle stock lines. I enjoy his guardian family very much as they are so committed to maintaining the level of quality my buyers come to expect from my program.

7 weeks
8 weeks - Temperament Test.

8 weeks - Valentine pic.
10 weeks and ready for his new home!

Lil Abner at 1/ 1/2 years of age.

What Abner's guardian has to say about him:
I am absolutely thrilled that Lil' Abner is part of our family.  He is a happy go lucky boy who is always up for a snuggle or a game of fetch. He prefers being by your side to anywhere else.
At 20 pounds, he is easy to pick up and put in the car; easy to bath and doesn't take over the sofa when he sits next to you. At the same time, he is perfectly capable of long walks and playing ball with amazing speed. We call him rocket dog because he is so fast!
His very soft curly coat is easy to take care of with a quick brush once a day which he enjoys. He will go get his brush and drop it at my feet when he wants to be groomed.

Abner is really everything I wanted in a dog for my daughter. He is great with kids and other dogs; he is the happiest dog I know. His tail is always wagging.

Here is our little man at 3 years old. Such a cuddler in so many ways. Abner is a true miniature and loves life to the fullest.

He sired his first miniature litter with Rose of Tralee at Nestlewood Labradoodles and they were the cutest little guys on the planet! Big personalities in a small package for sure.

Full of confidence and personality, Abner is available for stud service to well tested females.
