Tate's litter has been picked up. Here are the happy families.

I had a very busy day yesterday so am a bit late getting these done but here they are now!  :+)

BAROLO! From what I hear, an exceptional red wine.  I am sure he will soon be
the 'Toast of the Town'!

KEEFER has had many visits from his guardians.
They certainly are taking him everywhere for socialization!

James has waited a long time for his best buddy, BEAU.

Oh GUS! I just know that this family will be totally entertained by
their new pet!  Gus has much 'gusto' to share.  :+)

Tate's 10 week olds in the pumpkin wagon!

Ready for action!
The week has been incredibly busy and it will get busier as it progresses.  On Monday, Gus, Barolo and Beau had their early neuters with micro chipping and toenail clipping.  Their siblings, Keefer and Haddie had to take their microchip without anesthesia but were brave.

When I returned home with Haddie and Keefer, I had to re-arrange the pup room into 'stalls' so when the group returned, they would be two to a space similar to a crate.  This arrangement keeps them quiet for continued healing and it works quite well.  Yes, all of them complained for a couple of hours that evening but now settled down quite nicely each night.  The recovery for this early surgery is truly remarkable. The pups barely miss a beat and are ready to 'rock and roll' right after the anesthesia wears off. I do include the option for 'Laser Light Healing' to speed up the cellular repair of the incision site.

The very next day, Tuesday, I packed them all up for their trip to my CERF vet, Dr. Cassotis, for an eye exam.  I always have my pups examined to see if they have any eye disease; and before 12 weeks is the best time to see behind the eye where a severe eye disease will show up. Thankfully, none was observed on any pup. Epithelial and Persistent Pupil Membranes were noted, but those will never affect their sight or cause any eye issues. Most of them are absorbed as they mature. So a good trip with lots of 'oooohs and ahhhhs' from clients and vet techs on how cute they all are.  :+)

Today, after I spent a good part of the day breeding my mini, Hazel Mae to Emmett. On my return,  I set up a spot to take pics for the last time of Tate's group before you all pick them up on Friday and Saturday evenings. I am still working on your puppy packs but all will be done for pick ups. Tomorrow are Figgy's litter temperament tests with assignments and Sunday is a Health Clinic many of my guardian doodles will attend at my vets. I am so looking forward to Monday and a bit less 'action' here at ADNE.  :+)

Barolo, can't wait to run and play!  11 lbs.

Beau, waiting for his best friend to arrive.  9.6 lbs.

Gus, who wants to investigate every nook and cranny.  10 lbs.

Keefer thinks he is King of the Pumpkin Patch!  11 1/4 lbs.

Haddie, sitting pretty for her potential guardian home to appear.  8 1/4 lbs.

Barolo, Gus and Beau went for their neuters today.

All went well but when they returned home, they had to go into 'crate-like' enclosures and that is NOT making them happy at all.  :+(  I have paired up Gus with Haddie (Haddie is there for company). Barolo and Beau are paired together to help them get accustomed to this new sleeping arrangement. This is also why I HIGHLY encourage all of you to order a Snuggle Puppy online to 'sleep' with your new puppy when you take them home.  Until your pup is picked up, they will be in these crates to get use to it. Hopefully, the adjustment here will make it a bit easier for you.

I will take pics of the poor souls tomorrow as it was too late to do so today.  I might add, they seem to be just fine from the surgery - they ate and did potty.

Keefer will sleep with Figgy's pups for now.  :+)

A furry 'rug' of ten!

I went by the pup room while I was talking on the phone and all TEN pups were snuggled with Mr. Lion! It was such a 'moment' that I hung up the phone and raced to get my camera. I caught the shot just as Keefer was raising his head. I wish he had stayed down because then I could have gotten closer for a really cool shot but you get the idea! If you look closely, you can see more of the pups to the right behind the potty box.  :+)

A whole 9 weeks old and we are counting down to 'HOME BOUND'! (Tate x Thomas)

Now is the time to go over my Guaranty/Warranty and if you have concerns, contact me asap! Go over the supplies list under Points to Ponder in the AnnaBlog and understand/research what you would like to have for a vaccine schedule. Ask your vet FIRST if he even has the vaccine protocol you wish to follow. Be specific - i.e. 'Do your vaccines ONLY have DHPP or are there other vaccines in the combination as well?' If at all concerned, ask to see the vaccine label.  A 4-way vaccine (DHPP) is enough for their young bodies to handle right now.  Of course, after six months or so, you can consider giving them others if you feel strongly they will need it due to your lifestyle. With regard to Kennel Cough, the NOSODE form of it (a drop in the nose) is much better for your doodle and can be given at either with the 12 or 16 week vaccine schedule. Refrain from the vaccine if possible as it is a different make up than the nosode. You will need protection from Kennel Cough if you will be going to puppy classes, training classes, groomers, vets, etc. because it is contagious and is like a 'cold for dogs' - spreading to other canines.

On another note, Miss Harriet Potter is really enjoying Tate's pups at this age. Harriet is known as 'The Sargeant' around here. When with pups, she is usually a strict disciplinarian. The other day, I let her in with Tate's pups, along with Annabelle. It was really nice to see Harriet stepping it up because my dear Annabelle is aging and we will need another 'old soul' to teach dog language around here at some point.

The next time I post on Tate's litter, it will be with pics of each pup with their new family!  I can hardly believe it.  The week of the 13th will be full of appointments and very busy around here! I sure hope the weather keeps up as it has been wonderful for the pups to be outdoors.  :+)

Gus has a ton of energy and will entertain his family no problem!
9 1/2 lbs.

Beau and James will be best buddies.  8 1/2 lbs.

I think Barolo will enjoy the music in his new home.
10 1/4 lbs.

Tip O'Keefe is a hopeful stud. I shall keep my fingers crossed.
10 1/4 lbs.

Haddie Mc Gee is another breeding hopeful for ADNE.
She is a mini at 7 3/4 lbs.

Tate's pups went to the vets today!

They were WONDERFUL car riders!! Barely a peep was uttered and NO accidents or vomiting - WOW! I love when that happens.

Their stools were checked for parasites and were perfectly clear which makes me a very happy camper.

Beau, Haddie, Keefer, Gus and Barolo had a full exam by my vet and were declared in great condition and provided with a Health Certificate which you will get a copy of in your puppy packet.

Please note also that each pup was given a PARVO VIRUS AND DISTEMPER vaccine ONLY. When you take your pups for their contractual vet exam (within 7 days of you picking them up), it is for an 'look over' only - NO VACCINES at that exam as it is too early! Also, bring in a stool sample to check again for parasites.  Have your vet examine them and give the pup a treat and then leave. Their next set of vaccines will be at 12 weeks of age and that is the time for their next shot which should NOT have Corona Virus nor Lepto in it!  Keep it basic, one core group at a time, please!  Most vets will want to do the DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo and Parainfluenza at the 12 week and 16 week visit. Also, do not begin Heartworm meds at the same time as a vaccine is administered - wait at least 10 days for your pup's body to deal with the vaccine meds first, then you can begin with the Heartworm med. Don't overtax your pup's immune system.

Consider what this article states:

NEW PRINCIPLES OF IMMUNOLOGY:
Dogs and cats immune systems mature fully at 6 months. If a modified live virus vaccine is given after 6 months of age, it produces immunity, which is good for the life of the pet (ie: canine distemper, parvo, feline distemper). If another MLV vaccine is given a year later, the antibodies from the first vaccine neutralize the antigens of the second vaccine and there is little or no effect. The titer is not “boosted” nor are more memory cells induced.
Not only are annual boosters for parvo and distemper unnecessary, they subject the pet to potential risks of allergic reactions and immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia. There is no scientific documentation to back up label claims for annual administration of MLV vaccines.
Puppies receive antibodies through their mothers milk. This natural protection can last 8-14 weeks. Puppies & kittens should NOT be Vaccinated at LESS than 8 weeks. Maternal immunity will neutralize the vaccine and little protection (0-38%) will be produced.

Once the pups returned home, they were served their lunch and had some playtime.  A very good day for all!  :+)

We JUST missed the showers for Tate's group of 8 week old pics! Whew!!!

I have been watching the skies all day and got very lucky with our photo shoot for Tate's pups.

A number of you have asked me if the pups would like water and I think they will because they have no issues at all about going out to play in the showers!  I knew they would have to burn off some of their energy before I could take pics, so if you see a bit of dampness on the pups, you know why.  :+)

Lots of visitors all week for both litters and I am so thankful that they have been getting lots of socialization between all the families that are making the trip up to play and meet them. I know it is a risk every single time as breeders SHOULD be concerned about exposure to Parvo and all the other potentially risky issues that having visitors brings, but I feel exposure to so many different types of people/children is critical for their social development. I pray, I don't regret my open door policy!

October is here and it will be a very busy month for pup appointments as we prepare for Tate's litter to go home; welcome visitors for Figgy's litter and welcoming a new litter with the arrival of Camden soon. The schedule here at ADNE continues to be busy but don't let that stop your from 'coming on down'!

Barolo, named after a great Italian wine!
At 8 weeks, he is 8 3/4 lbs.

Little Haddie McGee continues to wait for a Guardian Home.
Haddie is 6 3/4 lbs. at 8 weeks.

Tate's 7 week pics!

I think you all can see that the pups are full of energy and enjoying all the space that is available to them for chasing, playing ball and discovery from the next post.

Here are their 7 week photos:  One posed and the other casual on each pup.  :+)

Haddie McGee.  Haddie is available for a local Guardian Home.
At 7 weeks, she weighs 5 3/4 lbs. and will
be approximately 25 lbs. at maturity.

Fun in the sun for Tate's 7 week olds!!

I generally always wait until the pups have their first shots to put them in the pup play area but I decided to do it early this time.  They are loving it as the pics will show.  :+)

Checking out the woodsy area.
Green Boy likes the tunnel.

Soccer? Basketball? Football?

Tate's Six Week Old Puppy Pics!

Be sure to read the post after this for their exciting week of adventure.  :+)

LOVE this shot of Green Boy! He is so full of fun and energy.
A great selection for an active family or couple.  He weighs 5 1/2 lbs. at 6 weeks.

Blue Boy is probably the calmest pup in the litter.  He will need a family that is sensitive but confident
and has excellent access to training so he does not become anxious. 5 1/4 lbs.

Haddie McGee weighs 4 1/2 lbs. She is available for a local Guardian Home.
Haddie loves small spaces to cuddle in. She is spunky, sweet and curious.
An active couple who is home a lot or family with children will suit her well.

Ha! I love this pic of Black Boy. He looks like he is laughing at
the best joke! Weighs 6 lbs. and would enjoy a family with children.
He seems to be a nice blend of snuggles and energy.

Tip O'Keefe has a guardian family and is a 'middle of the road' pup. Keefer
will enjoy activity as well as snoozes by the fire. Weighs 6 1/2 lbs.

Tate's pups have been very busy exploring this week! (6 weeks).

The week began with the group enjoying the baby playmat but they quickly outgrew it. While it was being used, they tugged, pulled, swatted and chewed to their hearts delight!

They are enjoying different types of food including canned and raw tripe, our homegrown Simple Poultry with small pieces of bone in it, as well as The Honest Kitchen blended foods and raw egg yolks. The pups gobble up everything.  They are now being served in a tray my husband, Carl made in separate bowls which assures that each of them are getting the right quantity.

Can we please go out to play? How could anyone resist these faces??  So, with temps cooler, outside playtime is often and coupled with visitors and naps sprinkled throughout the week. The pups really do enjoy people.  :+)

Once outdoors, some of the pups prefer to try and climb the clubhouse slide, which is pretty darn funny.  I am sitting on top of it taking pics of them trying to get to me.  There faces show how they just don't understand how I can get there but they cannot. I cracked up when Black Boy decided to 'show me up' and went to the baby slide to climb.

Blue Boy's expression is simply priceless!!!

They also love the activity center I made for my last litter that was such a hit. It can sometimes make a racket but that is one of the great components of it - for pups to not fear noise as well as to tug and pull. Feeling different textures is also a bonus.

Sit and Spin never ceases to be enjoyed by pups. They love how it turns with them on or off of it. Some grab the handle and chew while others use it sort of like a scooter - half on, half off as it turns around and around. Toys are also interesting - especially playing 'Keep Away'!

All in all a very exciting and busy week for all!
