PICS OF THE NEW FAMILIES!

Thank you Lord for giving us good weather, a smooth pick up day in spite of the chaos caused by the COVID - 19 virus and for the wonderful new owners that followed all my directions and were pretty much on time!

WHAT a day!  I have heard from a few of you with reports that the trip home went well.  The biggest question has been 'How much to feed'?  Your pup's weight is on the yellow half sheet called the Health Certificate.  Then you can figure how much based on what you are feeding - there is always a chart on the food bag.  :+)

After the pick ups, I started on the cleaning for Sadie's pups to move in.  They are happy for more room.

Without delay, here are the happy owners of a brand, spanking new ADNE pup!  CONGRATULATIONS and be well!  Don't hesitate to call or email with questions or concerns.  I am here to support you in any way I can.  HUGS!

'Violet' was violet collar girl.  So happy mom got the 'hi five' from her sons to bring a 'girl' into the family

'Lola' (Teal Collar) will bring a whole new dimension to 'taking a walk' in this household.  :+)

'Skipper' is aptly named for all his new adventures with this active couple. Ahoy,  my boy!

Dewey (Blue Collar) will bring much joy and laughter to this family who recently lost their beloved pet.

Pink Collar who is now 'Rocki' will be quite the entertainer.  I asked that when Rocki is older,
I would love to see her in a pink tutu.  She has the drama and the curls.

Rosie, who sported the rose collar, will have lots of hands to give her hugs and play-time.

'Bruin' aka coal collar.  I sure hope he gets to see a few games and wears a Bruin shirt to show support!
Love those Bruins!!!

Thanks everyone for making the trip, being great throughout my process and hanging in there in spite of COVID 19.  Stay safe, don't forget training and give my fur babies lots of hugs and kisses!  :+)

WE'RE HOME!

After dropping them off early this rainy morning, I went home to clean and re-arrange the Pup Room for when they would return.  I added small crates because I want them to 'check them out' before going home.  I changed the type of litter box, so they cannot touch any litter or cause any dust to possibly infect their incision (some pups like to sleep in potty boxes).

I carried each one individually from the car to their new pen.  Each had a small serving of Royal Canine Puppy Mousse because they can't have a full meal yet.  This food is very dense, full of calories and highly nutritious and is used for any animal that needs quality nourishment after surgery.

They will be restricted to just one outside pen for fresh air other than the whole play yard.  This will minimize them from running too much which could cause their incision to swell.  Amazingly, the pups feel so good, they WANT to run around!

When they go home to you on Sunday, they still need to be restricted from excessive play for 7 more days.  Yes, they can walk, run a bit, chase a ball a short distance and be held.  No jumping or crazy company getting them all excited.  They should have a few days of a quiet household to bond with his or her new family and be low key.  If they get too excited and boisterous, put them in their safe zone to mello out.

The new set up.

Hopefully, they will choose to sleep in the crates tonight!  :+)

Awake and wanting out!

All the pups wondering why the new arrangement.

Characters.  :+)

Please let us out!!!

Surgery day tomorrow!

Since the pups will be on restricted exercise for the next few days, I wanted them to really have a lot of free time in the Pup Play-Yard today.

I took some pictures of these romping, sliding, hopping, chasing, chewing fur-balls so you can see how much fun they have had over the last week since the snow left.  They have just loved the freedom of movement, exploration and space.  They sleep well at night.  :+)

Regarding their surgeries, I will bring them in bright and early but more than likely, will not get them back until late in the afternoon.  Enjoy.

VACCINES! (Jonnie x Duckie Litter)

I tell you, it is great when businesses go over and above to take care of their clients.  This morning, I took the pups to my vet 'for curbside service'.  Their vet techs came out to pick up the pups and bring them into the vet for both Distemper and Parvo Virus vaccines and to do a check up for their Health Certificates.  They were coddled and hugged by the staff; and the vet, laughing, remarked in our phone conversation, they were so beautiful but she had to stand on a stool to actually do her exams because they kept untying her shoelaces when on the floor.  Yep, they sure had a good time!  :+)

Here they are being loaded up in my car this morning!

The WONDERFUL vet techs at Broadview Animal Hospital with armloads of puppies!

TEMPERAMENT TEST WENT WELL TODAY!

The pups were just excellent car riders when we went to our Temperament Test early this morning!  No vomiting or whining.  They settled right in and enjoyed the hour there and the hour long drive back home.  Since we had mild weather, I was able to keep them in the back of my car with the hatchback open as I took them in one at a time for their session with my trainer.  The rest slept in the car with their huge frog for comfort.  :+)

I won't have the write ups for a few days but all did well given their early age.  My trainer will view the videos and provide a write up of their strengths and weaknesses for all of us to work on.

For the most part, I took a pic of each pup doing something different in the myriad of tests.

Violet was first and quite nervous initially but finished with pizzazz!

Teal surprised me by checking out the room and its 'occupants' quickly!

Pink was in her element here. Very engaged with all props.

Blue was a gentleman this morning.  He was active and willing to participate.

Green was very 'olfactory' driven.  His nose was everywhere!

Coal proved to be very resilient and brave!

Rose, too, used her nose a lot!  A good fetching candidate.

JONNIE x DUCKIE - 7 WEEKS. - IMP. INFO!

With such nice weather for the month of March, the pups have been outdoors in the ally quite a bit and love using the ramp to go under, around and over like an obstacle course!  Although we expect snow, it won't last long now that Spring is here.

My plan was to sanitize the Pup Yard so I could get the equipment cleaned off and give the pups the entire area to explore.  I guess I will have to wait a few more days for that to happen.

I do want to thank the Mazzocchi Family for coming over on Sunday morning to play with the pups!  They also had a visit from my daughter and grandson during the week.  Then an unexpected opportunity presented itself on Sunday afternoon for Ms. Sadie Benz's family to enjoy them as well.  With the COVID - 19 pandemic, most people are staying home and not risking visiting the pups.  As long as you are feeling well and we are also well, I still welcome visits.  COVID - 19 is NOT transferable to animals, so there is no risk to them.

-----------------------------------------------------

This is a BIG week for the pups as their Temperament Test is still happening on Wednesday.  This means that a few days after that, I will receive the write ups and will be calling to tell you which pup has been assigned to each family. This means:

  • If you have not sent me your three preferences, you need to do so asap!  Those who have already sent them, if there is a change or addition, let me know.
  • When I call, I need a NAME for your pet.  Do NOT delay, please. You have had over 7 weeks to discuss this.  They will be going to my vets soon and it is REQUIRED for their record keeping system.  Please be considerate and get to an agreement right away.  The majority of you are home to come to a final decision, so this is a great family discussion.  Thanks.
  • Once you are assigned the pup, you are under NO obligation to take that pup and your deposit will be refunded to you immediately.  I only want families who are thrilled with the assignment, if you are not - no worries, I will help you get a pup from another breeder.  If you are happy, the balance of $2,250 is due.  A personal check made out to:  ADNE, 335 Lebanon Road, North Berwick, Maine 03906. I need to receive that check by FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2020.  If I don't, we will need to talk prior to you coming here.
Whew, now that the business side is taken care of, let's look at the puppies!

Rose is sweet as well as beautifully marked.  A real gem in 'my' eye.

I call him Mr. Green Jeans.  He is a character - a nice dose of energy and loves people.

Whoever said the littlest can't be the mightiest?  Not Pink Girl, that is for sure.  A curious and playful little sprite!

Where there is a lap, you may find Coal.  He loves to play AND snuggle.  It does not hurt that he is also handsome.

I believe Violet will like water.  She took a dip in the water dish just before my photo session.
Thank goodness she is also adorable.

This face...what can I say?  Teal is a 'lady'.  She would enjoy a pampered lifestyle.

Blue.  See those wet front legs?  I believe he would love an active home with a boat, kids and lots of friends.
A social butterfly who is the life of the party.

Who needs toys??

Although commercial toys can be a lot of fun, so can things that are hanging around the house be just as entertaining if not more!

Look and see how much fun the pups are having with a couple of 'toys' readily available at your home.  :+)

I tossed in a small box and 'voila'!

A plastic bottle with the cap ring and paper taken off makes for a great toy.  Add some dry kibble inside for some 'noise' and be sure the cap is on tight because they really get excited with the kibble inside!

I think Miss Pink is thinking of jumping inside.  Hmmmmm..

Following the crinkles the bottle makes is intriguing to pups.

'How do I get that kibble????'  :+)

SIX WEEKS OLD! - JONNIE x DUCKIE

Oi vey - the teeth!!!  Nothing is sacred!  They are piranhas - pants, shoes, sweaters, socks, laces, toes, hair and fingers are all the same to them right now.  I feel like I should put on an 'Ironman's suit'.  :+)

They are still lovable though and cute as can be in spite of those needle-like teeth.  I actually let them out in the ally this week for some really fresh air.  They loved it and meandered down and under the ramp, chomping on leaves and sticks (thank goodness) and chasing each other around.  They enjoyed it immensely and I had some peaceful cleaning up time without seven munchkins trying to eat the broom, chase the vacuum or jump into the utility pail.

With all those teeth available to crunch all within their grasp, they are now eating FROMM's Puppy Food dry.  Good exercise for their mouths, right??  As expected, Blue Boy is the GOBBLER, so now he will be eating by himself so the others will have equal opportunity to get their share.  Once they catch up, we can assess feeding as a group once again.  However, I do switch to single bowl feeding around 8 or 9 weeks of age.

We had some more visitors this past week and have taken pictures with an Irish theme to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day.  :+)

Green Boy is at 4 lbs. this week.

Pink is 3 1/4 lbs.

Coal weighs 3 1/4 lbs.

Rose Girl is at 3 1/2 lbs. this week.

Blubber Boy is a hefty 4 3/4 lbs!

Teal Girl 3 lbs.

Phooey!  My feelings exactly, Violet!  3 1/2 lbs.

A point I need to make is I will not be able to have this group of pups go to my Ophthalmologist Vet, as I normally do.  They are closing for everything but emergencies due to this virus. I had made their appointment but they cancelled it.  :+(   Nothing I can do about it. I always provide this service to my customers but my hands are tied on this litter, unfortunately.

On another note:  I do intend to keep this litter's pick up date for April 5th.  If worse comes to worse, I will have to forfeit the group meeting and will instead bring your pup to YOUR car in the driveway with your info packet and pup tote.  There will be no photos or handshakes.  If you have any questions, you can call or email me.  THIS WILL ONLY BE DONE IF THINGS TRULY GET WORSE.

Hopefully, if anyone is ill, that person will stay home and send someone who is not ill.  We can all beat this virus using common sense and consideration.
