The dilute gene begins to expose itself....

Hi!

It has been necessary to re-arrange the puppy pen to accommodate the growth of the pups and to also introduce the potty areas. Intros take time and effort and LOTS of patience. They are also eating gruel and drinking water to help Cadbury begin the weaning process.

Since they are now 3 weeks+ old, I have also noticed changes in some of their coats already! I suspected that this would happen knowing that both parents carry dilution genes.

I mentioned colors like 'white chocolate' , cafe au lait, lavender, milk chocolate, parchment, and abstracts which means there is a second color on the solid pup such as white toes, chin, etc. It appears that all these colors will emerge in this litter. It will be so much fun to watch as metamorphosis takes flight - like gorgeous butterflies. :+)

This is a picture of a diluted colored Labradoodle. She is the mom of Rumple Sticks and lives at Rainmaker Ranch Labradoodles and is owned by Krista. She was chocolate colored as a pup. I believe that Rumple will eventually turn to her color which is identified as 'Cafe/Lavender'. You can distinctly see the bluish cast on her coat color.

Enjoy the 3 week pics!

Hi!

I am leaving for a couple of days to visit with our grandson, so wanted to get these pics out for you to gander at while I am gone. My husband will hold down the fort while I enjoy some human cuddling! :+)

I think Mr. Blue Boy has packed his suitcase pretty well and is looking for his motorcycle! He is 2.1 lbs today.

Green Boy is quite content knowing his bone will keep him full for quite sometime! (2.4 lbs.)

I do believe Mr. Red Boy thinks the 'grass is greener' on the other side of his basket. Or maybe he thinks there are more bones buried there. :+) He is 2.4 lbs. today.

Sampling the goods IS allowed and I think Orange Boy is ready to dig in! (2.5 lb.s)

Black Boy has decided this is his very own room and has settled right in. Room service is available, of course!! At 2 1/2 lbs., I do believe he will be ringing that bell soon. :+)

Naturally, the ladies think of packing only the necessities....jewelry, bows, cushions... Purple Girl has it all. She is a dainty one at 1.15 lbs.

All females think alike it seems. Pink Girl (1.12 lbs.) is 'resting' before shopping. :+)

Teal Girl has had her nap and is READY! Where is my taxi???? She is 2 1/2 lbs.

"Is that another bow, I see?' Lord knows, girls need bows in every color! Why should Chocolate Girl be any different?? (2 1/4 lbs.)

The 'Faces of Olive'.

I gave Olive a haircut today and could not resist taking a couple of pics of her. She is such a cutie and I love her black coat which is so easy to groom.

We are looking forward to breeding Olive, but she is really enjoying her 'maiden' lifestyle. I do have to say that she is obsessed with watching Cadbury's puppies and tries to lick and clean them all the time. Such a pest!! :+)

On a different front....

Maple Sugar had her ultra sound today and the vet could definitely see 6 puppies but gave me a range of '6 to 8'! I can't wait to see those sparkling blacks and reds! We will have such puppy color here at Annabelle Doodles!

Nails?

Poor Cadbury is such a trooper! After nursing her babies all this time, I finally cut their nails today as I realized how long they were when I picked up the pups to caress and cuddle. Those little nails were hitching into my clothing! Thankfully, they were all troopers and I am sure Cadbury is going to be very pleased those sharp 'picks' will not be poking her when they nurse again. Since their nails grow sooooo quickly, this will now be a weekly chore. Let's see...9 pups times 16 nails/pup equals 144 individual weekly snips. Thank goodness I don't have to polish them!!!!! :+)

You ask if Rumple Sticks is a lady's man?

I think so. :+) This is him snuggling with Elizabeth this morning. What a huge teddy bear!!!

Shots 'just because'. :+)

Since they have been moved to the Puppy Room into a large crate which is also enclosed with an X-pen (for safety), I have been getting more sleep. :+) The crate is covered with blankets on three sides to keep their environment warm and the crib bumper is to prevent little pups from the possibility of getting caught in the wired sides of the crate. It also prevents drafts and is much more comfortable to snuggle next to.

The pups now have on small 'cat collars' with a matching ribbon tied on the ring for easy identification for me (and you!).

They are a content bunch. :+)
