The joy of fresh snow!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Early this morning, I had opened the gate to one of our outside pens that has about two feet or more of snow in it so the pups could have a bigger space to exercise.  Then it actually began snowing with big fluffy flakes and I saw the pups having a ball outside in it so I took my camara and started clicking through my office window.  The shots are not as sharp as they would have been if I was outside but I knew I would disturb the fun they were having if I ventured outdoors. 

It is truly beautiful when we have snow like this but these little snow bunnies take the cake!!  Enjoy!

I was very surprised when I got a call to pick up Maybelline today.  Her guardian was anxious to have her join their family and so I quickly got all her things together and off she went!

As the pups leave, I will add them to this post.

First pick up is Maybelline with her new family.  I will see
her often as May is a breeder hopeful.

Late this morning, Miss Maisy (Purple Girl) was on her way home with lots of
hugs and smiles to accompany her.  :+)

I think Ani is going to make these two youngsters very happy!

picked up and is now cuddling with her new family.

Aubree was the last to leave and now I truly have an empty nest.
I am sure her new family will be very entertained with this sweetheart.  :+)

With any luck, I will not be without puppies for long as my tiny micro mini, Eloise was bred on March 1st.  It will be a month or so before I know if the artificial insemination took but I am keeping my fingers crossed!  

All my families know to contact me any time for questions or concerns about their pup.  This is what I do and I look forward to all calls or emails.  No question is silly!  Enjoy your puppies and give me an update every now and again, please!  :+)  Joyce   

Thank goodness for clever husbands!!

I had been talking to my husband about a neat dish I saw and how convenient it would be if I had one similar to it for feeding multiple puppies.  Carrying in several dishes at the same time can be a 'disaster waiting to happen'.

It did not take long for Carl to come up with a design that works terrific!  It is lightweight, serves six at a time and wipes clean in a jiffy.  I thought you might enjoy seeing the ladies dining all together at the same table.  :+)

More than likely, it will be too late to add a pic of them when they return from their surgeries.  If  I can't, I will post them tomorrow.  I have received a call that all are doing well post-op.  :+)   Both Maybelline and Hazel have been home enjoying lots of space and extra cuddles.  They had a grand time watching me re-arrange the room into an infirmary again and don't realize yet that now is their first introduction to crating.  By the way, none of them had an issue riding in the car!  Yea!!! 

Maisy (Purple Girl) will be the first to leave the nest on Friday.  The countdown begins......

Here are some more pics after they got home.  Each had a small bite to eat, water and some down time.  Tomorrow, they will feel so much better and be ready to 'rock and roll'!  It will be very difficult to keep them quiet, so I will have to rotate each group having time outside of their crate, so activity is kept to a minimum.

exposure to crate training.  I now call it the 'infirmary'.  :+)

 

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! The pups were 9 weeks on Tuesday!

Green Girl is now 'Hazel Mae' and will be a breeding hopeful for ADNE!
Hazel weighs 7 1/4 lbs.

Teal Girl is 'Ani' and weighs 7 3/4 lbs.

Purple Girl weighs 7 1/2 lbs. and her family is still thinking of a name.

Black Girl is now 'Crystal' and weighs 7 3/4 lbs.

Orange Girl is 'Aubree' and weighs 7 lbs.

Pink Girl will also be a breeder hopeful.  Her name is ADNE's 'Maybelline' but
will be called May or Maybelle by her guardians. 

Whew!  It has been quite the week so far.  Lots of phone calls to make and questions to answer.  Assignments went well given that I had to take the second temperament test as well as the CERF exams into consideration prior to making my choices first.  Remarkably, everything fell into place as it should and everyone is happy.

As you can see, I am as impatient as the rest of you when it comes to assignments!  I have to wait and take so much into consideration before KNOWING which ones I want to keep back.  Based on all the results, I need to make changes with all the info that is at my hand.  I weigh each and every positive and negative that the potential breeder will contribute to my program.  Then I wait a year to do testing to see if I made a good decision.  It can be so difficult at times.  Your heart pulls one way and your brain pulls the other. 

The bottom line is that my clients are happy and so am I!  :+)

Camden's litter was eye CERF'd today.

Even though it was snowing quite a bit this morning, I was so thankful by the time we left for our appointment, it had turned to rain.  Whew!  I was dreading trudging through snow for their appointments.

So into the car we went to see Dr. Cassotis, my Canine Ophthalmologist.  Port City's staff is always helpful and enjoy playing with puppies; so the group had a wonderful time pulling shoelaces, grabbing the plastic bag on the wastebasket and peeing (oops!) on the floor as we waited for the eye drops to dilate their eyes properly.  Finally, it was time and each and every pup was examined thoroughly for any sign of eye disease.  Happily, all did great and got a biscuit to chew on for their ride home.

The trip there and back was uneventful and everyone did fine in the car.  By the time we got home, they were all cuddled together in the back of the car sleeping away.

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY for assignments!  Don't expect any info until later in the afternoon.  Patience, patience!!!

Tango Wool's 'Needle in a Haystack' aka 'Dublin' (was named Lucky)

I guess lucky is the right word to use when I was asked to be in a partnership with this darling puppy.  He is an upcoming stud hopeful for Annabelle Doodles of New England, Blueberry Cottage Labradoodles and Tango Wool Labradoodles, who produced this cutie pie.

We expect him to mature to approximately 30 lbs. and roughly 18 inches.  He has very nice boning and is a 'wash and wear' kind of guy who is easy to have around but has plenty of stamina for wrestling, playing and social interaction.  My guess is that Dublin will eventually become more of a deep apricot color when his mature coat comes in but he could stay red as well.  No matter the shade, Dublin is an adorable young man that can't help but bring a smile to all who meet him.  His curly, non-shedding coat is lush and 'squeezably soft' and will produce adorable 'teddy bear' puppies.  :+)

Dublin will have stringent testing done when he is a year old and we are all hoping his results will bring smiles to our faces.
