The crew. 'Can we go out, please'?
(Black, Purple, Rainbow, Teal and Green)

Except for yesterday with the wind and the heavy rain, the pups have been outdoors a lot.  This week most of them have mastered the dogie door and Black Boy and Rainbow Girl LOVE using it to go in and out numerous times.  Teal Boy and Green Boy are a bit more intimidated by it but have garnered up the courage to go in and out.  Purple Girl paws at it with a vengeance to get entrance back into the pup room.  I have to laugh at the emerging personalities.  I can tell you that Black Boy is confident, full of the wiggles and loves a challenge.  Green Boy wants to be near you all the time.  Purple Girl is a nice blend of 'maybe I will and maybe I won't'.  Teal Boy has a lot of confidence as well and Rainbow Girl still likes to be close but is not what I would call timid.

It will be fun to see what the trainer thinks when she tests them out in a week or so.

I would like to add that I took them for a car ride today (Friday, October 10th) and they did exceptionally well.  No crying, no vomiting, no wet muzzles!  I am not guaranteeing they will be perfect in the future but I am VERY pleased so far.  :+)  At least three more car rides are in their future so let's hope this continues.

Thank you, Emily!  It may not be done the way you explained it to me, but if you click on the links, the video does come on.  :+)  Everyone, you may want to turn off your sound when viewing.  :+)

Pups needed more room to run outdoors, so are in a new area.

Lots of additional stimulation for them to investigate.
Black Boy sees the 'greener pasture' on the other side.  :+)
Lunch was served outdoors.
Then they went to town checking out the new 'digs'.
Teal Boy likes that the bar spins!
Green Boy loves the Slide N Step!
He also likes the little car.  When he is 16, we will see about a driving permit.
Looks like the car is a favorite!
Competition at the wheel.  Or is it the knobs that intrigue Rainbow so much?  It's a girl thing.
Some interfacing going on here.  :+)
Purple Girl won the toy and is running away with it.
The girls are bonding?  Sharing? Negotiating?

They love the bigger area and all the stuff in it.  At five weeks, now is the time to really get them exploring and learning.  They will really begin to grow mentally and physically now.  I was happy to see that none of the pups were intimidated by the move at all - took to it like fish to water.  Very happy to see that.

Here are the five week pics and updates!

Black Boy is tracking as the lightest in weight at 4 3/4 lbs.  Lots of  'get up and go' at this time.  He is the first one to try going out the dogie door - quite happy to discover the outdoors!  Character!
Rainbow Girl is 5 1/2 lbs. and still needs to find her confidence.
Purple Girl weighs 5 lbs. on the nose and is beginning to enjoy new experiences.
Green Boy is the heaviest at 6 lbs.  He seems to be a 'thinker'.  Could change at any hour.  :+)
This pic says it all about Teal Boy.  At 5 1/2 lbs.,  he is the first to greet people and is ready, or thinks he is,
to enjoy what the world has to offer.  He was ready to chomp off the ends of that twig!

Just know that whatever I say about these pups at given times can and will change dramatically with their maturity and the exposure done by each individual owner.  I have seen it time and time again.  My most insecure pup becomes a therapy dog because their owner put in the time and effort to help her overcome a bit of shyness; while my most rambunctious becomes well mannered and demure with proper handling.  It is all about YOU bringing out the best qualities they have to offer.  As a wise person said:  'I can provide you with a great puppy; but only you can make him a great dog'.  Take those words to heart because your dog is a reflection of your time and effort.  :+)

The pups had a very busy weekend of visitors!

As you can see, they enjoy adult company as well as...
Lots of children! The pups went from lap to lap.  They chewed on toes, too.
All the pups had lots of socialization which is so important for good development.
I think this little boy is a magnet for puppies!

By Monday afternoon, the pups had been visited by five families and everyone expressed that they would be happy with any of the pups.  As the weeks go on, I find that families will gravitate to one or two in particular.

I love to have clients visit pups because it really helps me see the dynamics of the family environment the pups will live with.  Many times a family may want a particular pup and I know by watching and being with them that their 'favorite' may not be a suitable furry companion.  That IS my job - to do the best I can for a good placement that will benefit everyone - the client, the pup and me!

I had the pleasure of spending some time with our curly redhead Dublin today.

We are sure fortunate to have found a wonderful guardian for our solid 'American Idol' stud Dublin.  He indeed has a sparkle in his eye and a twinkle in his walk.  Cynthia, his guardian mommy, just adores this young man and he feels the same about her.  A wonderful site to see.

Guardian Home candidates make or break a breeding program for those of us that have the good fortune to use them instead of raising our dogs in a kennel environment.  Having a breeding potential live with a family doing all the normal activities provides a stable environment with lots of stimulous and benefits that dogs raised in kennels are devoid of.

Thank you, Cynthia for being there for me today.  You are invaluable to our programs.

Cynthia with Dublin.  Best buddies!
Why we love Dublin and pray he will be added to the programs of Tango Wool Labradoodles who 'created' him; Blueberry Cottage Labradoodles for giving him such a wonderful start on manners and training; and ADNE, who was lucky enough to get the call from Cynthia regarding his guardian placement.

For all three of our breeding programs, Dublin will bring the strength of a non-shedding coat, solidly boned medium to small standard sized puppies and intelligent companionship.

His temperament - loving, kind and gentle.

Yup, it is a non-shedding Poodle type coat, but there is no mistaking his Labrador boning!

Dublin's topline and conformation is as good as it gets.
