I love it when I have Mother Nature to help with pictures! (FIGGY'S 7 WEEK OLDS)!

The autumn is my favorite time of year.  I am not fond of the summer heat; the fickleness of spring or the ice of winter but I LOVE the time of late summer through mid November.  Back to baking, oven roasts and lots of gorgeous color and textures! I would also like to thank my husband, Carl for providing so many wonderful vegetables for us and the pups to eat and decorate with!

Today's weather was perfect for Figgy's little 'punkins' and I am sure you will agree that each pup was the cutest 'pumpkin' in the wagon!!!  :+)

Teal Boy is the heaviest at this time.  8 lbs.

Gotta love that tongue on Lilac Girl!  6 1/2 lbs.

Dainty Lime Girl is 5 3/4 lbs.

Peach Girl is very inquisitive (and sweet!).  7 1/4 lbs.

Red Boy is 6 1/4 lbs. of  'chill'.

Barolo, Gus and Beau went for their neuters today.

All went well but when they returned home, they had to go into 'crate-like' enclosures and that is NOT making them happy at all.  :+(  I have paired up Gus with Haddie (Haddie is there for company). Barolo and Beau are paired together to help them get accustomed to this new sleeping arrangement. This is also why I HIGHLY encourage all of you to order a Snuggle Puppy online to 'sleep' with your new puppy when you take them home.  Until your pup is picked up, they will be in these crates to get use to it. Hopefully, the adjustment here will make it a bit easier for you.

I will take pics of the poor souls tomorrow as it was too late to do so today.  I might add, they seem to be just fine from the surgery - they ate and did potty.

Keefer will sleep with Figgy's pups for now.  :+)

A furry 'rug' of ten!

I went by the pup room while I was talking on the phone and all TEN pups were snuggled with Mr. Lion! It was such a 'moment' that I hung up the phone and raced to get my camera. I caught the shot just as Keefer was raising his head. I wish he had stayed down because then I could have gotten closer for a really cool shot but you get the idea! If you look closely, you can see more of the pups to the right behind the potty box.  :+)

Camden and her pups went for their first car ride and vet check this morning.

Thankfully, it was not raining hard when we went and I was able to take Camden for a short walk as Dr. Estle removed the pups' dew claws and checked them over.  All went well and the ride home was uneventful.

Once home, I changed the bedding and weighed all the pups. I was happy to see that all are gaining and lively! Here is their first set of individual pics in the spirit of autumn.  :+)

Camden is DELIVERING.... Pic & Weight update!

Camden's second and final litter went as smooth as silk! First, we both slept all night - none of that typical 'in and out' to potty every hour on the hour. Then, she went upstairs and started pushing to whelp a pup in one of my dog's beds!  I quickly put a pee pad under her and moments later the first pup was born! Lastly, ALL the pups were born in exactly one hour and 24 minutes - a record for the fastest birth here at ADNE.  :+)

Once I cleaned up the messes, I gave Camden a quick bath and now all are happy in the whelping box. I did not get a rainbow litter but I am thankful that all seem to be healthy and thriving. Our vet visit is tomorrow morning, bright and early.  :+)  Now that Camden and her pups are all dry, I posted a pic. I will post more tomorrow. Right now, all Camden is interested in is her pups and all they are interested in is finding that warm milk!

We do have four girls of which one of them is black and three boys - two are black and one is apricot. I won't know if any of the apricots may indeed be a caramel - it takes about three weeks to know how the color DNA matched up. Now that they are dry, I see that I have two creams, hard to tell when they are wet. What a great and easy delivery.  :+)

Update:

  • #1 is a female who arrived at 8:24 am - cream in color and weighs 12 1/4 ounces. Camden really struggled to push her out but out she did come! Identified by Glitter Girl collar (white at the moment).  :+)
  • #2 arrived a MINUTE after Glitter Girl at 8:25 am and is a small black male that weighs 7 5/8 ounces. He does have a bit of a white chin and white on his chest. His collar color is Grey.
  • #3 is a black male who arrived at 8:34 am and weighed 9 3/8 ounces. She is identified with a Red Collar.
  • #4 - Blue Collar male, a cream, was born at 8:45 am and weighs 9 5/8 ounces.
  • #5 is identified as Plum Girl and weighed 8 5/8 ounces. She was born at 9:12 am and is apricot in color.
  • #6, a black male, is Green Collar Boy and weighs 9 1/2 ounces. He was born at 9:30 am.
  • #7 is another large apricot female. Copper Girl weighed in at 10 3/4 ounces at 9:48 am.
Camden just went to town delivering these babies in record time. She is very attentive to them all. I gave her a bowl of food and she gobbled it down happily.  All is well.

A whole 9 weeks old and we are counting down to 'HOME BOUND'! (Tate x Thomas)

Now is the time to go over my Guaranty/Warranty and if you have concerns, contact me asap! Go over the supplies list under Points to Ponder in the AnnaBlog and understand/research what you would like to have for a vaccine schedule. Ask your vet FIRST if he even has the vaccine protocol you wish to follow. Be specific - i.e. 'Do your vaccines ONLY have DHPP or are there other vaccines in the combination as well?' If at all concerned, ask to see the vaccine label.  A 4-way vaccine (DHPP) is enough for their young bodies to handle right now.  Of course, after six months or so, you can consider giving them others if you feel strongly they will need it due to your lifestyle. With regard to Kennel Cough, the NOSODE form of it (a drop in the nose) is much better for your doodle and can be given at either with the 12 or 16 week vaccine schedule. Refrain from the vaccine if possible as it is a different make up than the nosode. You will need protection from Kennel Cough if you will be going to puppy classes, training classes, groomers, vets, etc. because it is contagious and is like a 'cold for dogs' - spreading to other canines.

On another note, Miss Harriet Potter is really enjoying Tate's pups at this age. Harriet is known as 'The Sargeant' around here. When with pups, she is usually a strict disciplinarian. The other day, I let her in with Tate's pups, along with Annabelle. It was really nice to see Harriet stepping it up because my dear Annabelle is aging and we will need another 'old soul' to teach dog language around here at some point.

The next time I post on Tate's litter, it will be with pics of each pup with their new family!  I can hardly believe it.  The week of the 13th will be full of appointments and very busy around here! I sure hope the weather keeps up as it has been wonderful for the pups to be outdoors.  :+)

Gus has a ton of energy and will entertain his family no problem!
9 1/2 lbs.

Beau and James will be best buddies.  8 1/2 lbs.

I think Barolo will enjoy the music in his new home.
10 1/4 lbs.

Tip O'Keefe is a hopeful stud. I shall keep my fingers crossed.
10 1/4 lbs.

Haddie Mc Gee is another breeding hopeful for ADNE.
She is a mini at 7 3/4 lbs.

Figgy's sweet puppies are 6 weeks today!

Boy do they just LOVE being combined with Tate's puppies. Both groups have so much fun together. Initially, I was a bit nervous as Tate's pups are quite robust and I thought they would be too rough; but that has not been the case at all. Most of the wrestling has been between the little ones with each other, not their cousins.  :+) They all nap together during the day. The only time I separate them is when food is served and at night.

These little munchkins are sure getting a lot of exercise and sleep deeply after a play session. Every now and again, I will find one of them snuggled with the Lion all alone because they had enough play and needed rest.

Teal Boy is at 6 lbs.

Peach Girl weighs 6 lbs., too!

Little Lime Girl is a 'hefty' 4 1/2 lbs.

Lilac weighs in a 5 1/4 lbs this week.

Red is the lightest boy at 5 lbs.

As you can see, their coats are really 'plumping' up with curls and waves.  I just love how their eyebrows are getting really fluffy as well.  Such a cute stage.  :+)
