The playmat is a hit and this is the only stage of development I can use it in because their teeth are coming in like crazy and in a week - they would destroy this item! Enjoy!

Lots of fun on the Puppy Playmat!
Just like young children, puppies are stimulated with bright colors, textures, crunchie sounds and hanging objects to grab or chew.

Puppy visits have begun and what great visitors we had!
It always makes me so very happy when I have families over with such well behaved and gentle children. What fun was had by the kids AND the puppies! Unfortunately, I forgot to get a pic of the family that visited on Friday night :+( ..... my apologies!
I was thrilled that the puppies handled all the new people, sounds, smells and touching that went on. I am all about socialization, so hopefully the new puppy owners will come to visit often. I can always make visits possible during the week too. :+)

Piper and Dublin's Litter at 4 weeks.
I certainly was grateful for some rain last night but bright and early this morning the sun shone in my window and I knew I had better get going. We had a family visit early last night and another coming this morning......so lots to do!
The light seemed good for pics in the den, so after feeding dogs and pups that was first on my agenda. I decided to accessorize the girls this week. I much prefer garden pics but it was still a bit wet from the showers.

Blue Boy is 3 1/4 lbs. I think he will grow to be in the low 30 lb range. Blue is showing a thick, wavy coat and a gentle demeanor at four weeks of age.
Rainbow Girl is also going to be in the 25 lb range. She now weighs 2 3/4 lbs. Easy to handle and sweet.
Red Boy is also going to be on the smaller side. He weighs 2 1/2 lbs and continues to be quite photogenic. :+)
Brown Boy - what a pose! He is 2 1/2 pounds so I am thinking around 28 lbs. or so at maturity. As is the norm, the boys seem to be so mellow and cuddly, he is no exception.
A hunk of male is Green Boy. The heaviest of the males at 3 1/4 lbs. Like his sister Violet, you need two hands to hold him. A lot of pup to cuddle with for sure! And, he doesn't mind at all. :+)

Pups have a new friend to snuggle with.
After cleaning this morning, I decided to add Mr. Frog, who has been around for years. I do have a replacement but he seems to be holding up quite well so I will save the 'new' one for another time.
I must say the pups are doing quite well using the litter box and Piper no longer is cleaning up after them - I am! The pups are also continuing with Goat's Milk and I add small amounts of Green Tripe to their meals along with the Gerber baby meat . They are enjoying it very much. More meat and less milk when they are four weeks of age.

We have had to forfeit the small bowl for the bigger one.
The pups are growing rapidly and I had to bring out my big stainless steel feeding bowl so that all of them can fit around it. This is an overhead shot.
My husband came home from the hospital today and is fine - sore but fine. Unless anything happens from now till the weekend, I am planning to have the scheduled puppy visits. I can fit one more for Saturday at 1 pm but Sunday is booked.

Soon, I will have to split this litter for feeding!

Piper's pups at three weeks.
How about a refreshing cup of tea and a breakfast scone?? I do believe you won't find a more delightful blend of 'tea' than the ones below.
The switch to the Puppy Room has brightened their world with all the sunshine and cool breezes. This photo shoot went very well with the pups being very cooperative.
They have begun to use the potty box with pup pads in it. Of course, they are a L O N G way from actually using it regularly but I like to introduce it as early as possible. :+)
Enjoy your 'tea' and scones. :+)
Violet Girl is the largest pup in the litter. 3 lbs. She LOVES to eat!

Red Boy is the smallest male at 1 3/4 lbs.
Brown Boy hits the scales at 2 lbs.
Dainty Pink Girl is 2 lbs.

Intro to their 'first' meal.
The pups are now settled in the Puppy Room and doing well. Some still prefer to climb up and over stuffed animals to sleep amongst them in the little crevices - very cute to see. There are times that when I am counting, I really need to look under and around to locate everyone.
This morning, I decided to introduce them to a warm bowl of Goat's Milk with a tiny bit of Gerber's Baby Food Chicken in it. You can see that some of them dove right into it! The rest will follow at their own pace.
I will continue to intro a bowl of this mixture once a day for a bit and increase the offerings so that we can begin to reduce their dependence on Piper Moon.
After having another meal from Piper, the pups are staying awake just long enough to discover each other and do some mouth wrestling. :+)

Blue, Green and Brown boys were very quick to gobble up the milk. Purple Girl was the only brave girl to try it. It always makes me smile to watch them lick themselves and each other afterwards. :+)
