Pups and children. :+)

Our five year old grandson came to visit today and had such a great time playing with Piper's pups. He is a very gentle child and a superb listener.

First, he introduced himself to a couple of pups.

They were very happy to play 'King of the Caterpillar'.

Then there was 'Hide and Seek'.

Oops! Pool break!

'Follow the Leader' is always fun!

Loving all the pats and cuddles.

Hunter enjoys the shade of the clubhouse.

Riley shares the sentiments of all....I need a break!

There were a couple of pups with special talents such as:

Scout driving a car.

A landscaping crew emptying a cart. Freya is supervising.

There was some discussion about who should have which part of a tug toy.

Contemplation about how to get the cart on its wheels.

Calloway is a skateboarder! Lizzie seems to be a cheerleader.

Calli and Ollie were sharing some joke!

WEEK 8 for the Piper x Dublin litter.

The pups are going to be traveling a bit this week. The six boys will be having their neuters, blood work, stool check and microchips on Monday. Then on Friday, all of them will be traveling to Portsmouth, NH for their eye checks with my canine ophthalmologist in the morning and then back to Rochester, NH in the afternoon for Distemper and Parvo vaccines. I will be doing lots of paperwork preparation in the meantime.

Here are their 8 week old pics and weight updates.  So happy some of you have names and anxiously waiting for the rest to come in.  :+)

Nellie x Emmett - Week 1 pics.

I know that most of my posts have been regarding the Piper x Dublin litter but that is because so much is going on with them but Nellie's litter has not been ignored.  :+)

Nellie has been doing an exceptional job at mothering her adorable litter of five. They have been gaining steadily and are a very content group. I have to say that Nellie is a wonderful guest here at ADNE. I don't even have to 'protect' the room the pups are in because Nellie is very welcoming to the other dogs in the house - no 'protection aggression' at all. She lets them know they are hers by her body language but is not a frantic mom - so wonderful. She continues to eat like a trucker and is happy to fed her babies often. What an easy breeding dam.

Molly Pitcher weighs 15 ounces at one week. ADNE's first phantom marked pup. Very exciting!

Ben Franklin weighs 1.8 lbs! He is getting banana splits at the food bar!

Betsy Ross is also having extra helpings because she weighs 1.5 lbs.

George Washington weighs 1.1 lbs. A perfect weight for 1 week old.

Ahhhh... Abigail Adams. She has been frantically writing and eating bon-bons. 1.8 lbs.

WHEW!........

I am so glad that puppy assignments have been made and all seem to be happy with their new family member.  Although I try very hard to be sure your pup has all the traits, color, gender and coat that you 'ordered', I do have to be very clear that Mother Nature is 100% in charge of DNA and the traits a puppy acquires. That equates with some liking water and others not; some will love to play fetch and others won't; and some will just want to look into your soul and cuddle. I assign the pup that has the MOST qualities you want.  Fine tuning those traits will be up to you, the owner.  :+)

On Saturday, I will do pics per usual.

Couldn't believe they all fit!

It has been a very warm and muggy day but late this afternoon it began to cool off so I took all ten of Piper's puppies for a carriage ride.  I love my new 'puppy buggy' but was very surprised all of them fit in it with a bit of room to spare!

We went for a short walk on the road because I wanted them to be close to cars going by and smelling a different environment. They all did well and seemed to enjoy themselves.  :+)

Tomorrow is a big day for me, my clients and the pups.

All of you have sent in your preferences and I appreciate it. I cannot guarantee your pup will be within those three choices as many had the same 'preferences', but I do want you to feel that we are making the best possible choice for you and your family based on your visits, application, cosmetic appeal and temperaments at this point.

Please know that what you do with training classes, consistency, time, parameters and love will bring out the best in your pup. There will be challenging episodes and very rewarding ones.

Tomorrow will be the first step in this exciting process!

Charlette is avoiding the '2-Step'!

Miss Charlotte 2-Step is losing her rhythm with regard to cycling! Supposedly, we expected it in June and June is over. We are now into July and she continues to drag her feet. I am sure she will come into heat when her guardian family is 'on vacation'. Let's hope her 'dance card' fills up soon!

I do believe this mating will produce some of the most colorful ADNE pups ever! I also expect them to be energetic, smart, agility candidates and cute as a button! Both Charlotte and Rocky love people and are very engaging. So looking forward to what is in store.  :+)

What a combo! Rocky on the left and Charlotte 2-Step on the right.

Both have beautiful coats and very engaging personalities. Many genetic labs now offer color and pattern tests and both have been tested. Rocky is called a 'tri-color' and Charlotte carries 'hidden' tri color genes. I have been hoping to produce a tri colored Labradoodle for at least 10 years and this mating might just do it!  I just wish Charlotte would cycle already!
