Hazel's Week Six is about to begin!

Holy cow have the days flown by! I can't believe in three more weeks, these little fluffballs will be on their way home. They are really enjoy playing in the puppy room and LOVE going outdoors to romp on sunny afternoons!

On rainy days and mornings, they enjoy the extra space for playing.

I took this pic to capture how lovely their coats are.

I could not resist taking a pic of a basket of pups outdoors.

The now infamous Lilac NOT in the mop bucket she climbed into earlier this week.

They now navigate the ramp with aplomb!

An adorable pic of Denim.

Copper always makes faces at me when I try to take a 'formal' pic. He looks like a door stopper in this one! :+)

Figgy is in heat and we are going to breed her to Tip O'Keefe!

I received the call last night that Figgy Puddin` has begun her heat cycle and we will be preparing for her date with Keefer. This will be her last litter for ADNE and we hope her retirement group will be fabulous.

I will update with postings as things progress.

Believe it or not, Figgy is a 'chocolate' Australian Labradoodle that carries the double dilute gene which has turned her color to Lavender. She is a very sturdy 35 lbs. and 18 inches tall.  She likes to hold a conversation with you and even lets you know when she would like a carrot or what toy she would like to play with.
Figs is a sweet girl that loves people and couches.

I am going to use my Keefer instead of my original choice of  Dublin due to a snag in Dublin's schedule.
Keefer is the same size as Dublin but is a dark red instead of apricot. He has an outgoing, happy
personality and is the apple of his guardians' eyes. This mating has the potential to produce a
rainbow litter which may include pup colors in apricot/red, caramel, chocolate or black.

It was a day of first time experiences for Hazel's five week old minis.

After yesterday's rain, it was nice to have some mild weather with sun. I have been letting the pups out into the room for some exploring for several days now but decided to open the door to the outside pens today.  :+)

The pups took to the open door like ducklings to water.

However, there is always one that is not convinced. (Copper)

Denim came for support but he would not budge.

He garnered more courage when Rose came to assist with a bit of a push from behind. :+)
I am not sure if Copper was giving Rose raspberries for the push.

Some of the pups wanted to play with Daisy...

....while others spotted mom for a snack!

Since we are weaning, I quickly grabbed the 'boob jacket' for Hazel. The 'snack bar' was closed for the first time.

There is always one that is more inquisitive than the rest and that would be Lilac. She climbed into the mop bucket!

A quick warm bath, blow dry and warm wrap had her fit as a fiddle in no time.
She was totally non-plussed about the whole ordeal. This too, was a first.

The scoop on the HAZEL X EMMETT litter at five weeks.

Whew! This week has sure been busy with Piper's litter going home and visitors for Hazel's litter. Finally, I can concentrate on just Hazel's pups now.

Fortunately, with all the visits, noise, different sounds and people peeking, Hazel's litter transitioned to the puppy room environment smooth as butter with not a falter in their step. They love the sunshine, extra room and soft breezes on these amazing Spring-like days!

They are now in the weaning phase and eat a puppy milk/Kefir/Honest Kitchen blend three times a day now and lap it up like pros. They still nurse from Hazel as she allows but not as often. Hazel's food supply has been reduced both in bulk and times fed. I also add Sage to her meals to help in the natural reduction of her milk supply. Everyone is happy.  :+)

I should add that visits are welcomed by potential owners to meet and play with this litter. Just call or email for an appointment.

Denim Girl is 2 lbs. this week.

Navy Boy is 2 3/4 lbs.

Checkers Boy is a 2 1/2 pounder.

Lime Boy is 2 1/2 lbs.

Copper Boy is a solid 3 lbs.
Lilac Girl is 2 1/2 lbs.

Rose Girl is 3 lbs!

HAZEL2 X EMMETT PUPS at Week Four!

It appears folks that have been visiting Hazel's pups are quite delighted with what they see! Of course, Hazel has such an engaging personality, she 'sort of' doesn't take 'no' for an answer.  The pawing at you for attention is hard to ignore. Plus, with the patting comes the 'roll over' for the belly rub - such demands! :+)

Here are the adorable seven!

Navy Boy weighs 2.5 lbs.

Rose Girl is 2.11 lbs.

Lilac Girl is 2.2 lbs.

Lime Boy is 2.10 lbs.

Denim Girl is 1.15 lbs.

Checkers is 2.1 lbs.

Copper is 2.6 lbs.

The group cuddled together.

They all interact with each other, as well as the little toys that hang in the pen. Teeth are coming in, so more chewing is going on as well. There little tails wag like propellers when excited and lots of verbiage is uttered - close to barking but not quite.

Hopefully, they will be moved to the puppy room by this time next week!
