WEEK ONE - HAZEL AND TANGO WOOL BO DIDLEY

Not much to report except the pups are eating well and gaining every day. A couple of them are already a pound!

Hazel is doing a great job and is also very nosey about what is going on anywhere in the house. She is constantly at the door to be let out to sniff the other doodles; go outside to survey the goings-on at the neighbors or to keep a wary eye on Daisy's three hooligans. Hazel is quite bossy!  :+)

Here are her adorable babies.

Blue Collar Boy at one week. 1.3 lbs.
A beautiful wavy fleece coat.

Green Boy - 14  3/8 ounces.
Favoring mom in color with a soft fleecy coat. Don't you love the heart on his head?

Red Collar Male - 14 ounces.
Another sparkling black wavy fleece coat.

Pink Collar Girl - 14 ounces
The only one in the litter that will have a curly 'pillow' soft coat like her mom.

Purple Collar Girl - 1.3 lbs. at one week.
I expect this GH candidate to have a wavy fleece coat.

Space, company and dirt.......

Make for messy but happy puppies!

Finally, Daisy and her pups are going outdoors to play for a bit. They love to follow mommy and Auntie Gunny outdoors to run, taste sticks and chase balls.  It is especially fun to pull and bite on momma Daisy as Gunny sits on the sidelines watching.

Enjoy the first set of the pups enjoying the messy outdoors.  Soon the snow will be gone and the yard will dry up and REALLY be a fun place for all to enjoy.

DAISY X KEEFER - WEEK SEVEN

In a little more than two weeks, your puppies will be home with you - doesn't seem possible, does it? Thankfully, with this rain, the snow is melting off most of the puppy yard and I am working daily trying to convince the pups to venture outdoors. The rest of the week should be very mild here, and I surely will be taking pics of them outdoors SOON.

Temperament testing had to be cancelled for tomorrow as my trainer is ill. We are both hopeful it will be done before they go home and I will let you know if that happens.

As I weigh these pups week by week, I am super surprised that Wyatt is tracking to be around 35 lbs.; Bindi around 28 lbs. and little Purple Girl about 18 to 20 at maturity. This is not set in stone but originally, I thought Wyatt was going to be a 40+ pounder!

Although Daisy has no milk, she still allows the pups to suckle and she enjoys being with them - as does Gunny and Annabelle.  :+)

Here is Wyatt showing off his climbing skills.

Bindi LOVES tug and poor Mr. Catapiller is doing his best to keep his tail on.

These two brave girls are checking out the ramp and the world beyond the pup room.

Soft natured Wyatt needed lots of coaxing to venture outside but he did it!

Today's pics were really cute so I decided to post two shots of each puppy for you to enjoy. They liked the new rabbit and were pulling it every which way when I decided to add it to the pail.

Wyatt is now a respectable 7  1/2 lbs.

Still so easy to photograph.

Bindi weighs 5  3/4 lbs.

Bindi is such a ham and quite brave!

Purple Girl (available) likes to climb...just about anything.

She is still tiny (and mighty) at 4  1/4 lbs.

Note about Purple Girl:

This little girl is recovering from an eye ulcer that is healing nicely at this time.  She continues to see my canine opthalmologist as her condition improves. Worse case scenario is that the eye may need to be removed if she has a recurring issue. However, at this time, my vets feel this is a long shot and her prognosis is very good.  :+)

HAZEL X TANGO WOOL BO DIDLEY LITTER

After being up for 24 hours, I finally had a good night's sleep - does wonders for the body and soul.

Hazel and her five pups are all doing well. Actually, Hazel is producing so much milk, I am going to have to reduce her food a bit which is NOT going to make her happy at all!!  However, her little babies are not big enough to drink all she is making and that could lead to mastitis which we want to avoid.

Sadly, losing two of her pups was terribly disappointing but once the tears are shed, you must move forward and tend to the living. Keeping Hazel free of snow after going outdoors to potty so the pups don't get chilled has added another layer to the care and welfare of them. For some odd reason, Hazel PREFERS to pee on the deeper snow.  Thanks Mother Nature!!!!  :+(

Pink Girl - 7  1/4 ounces.

Blue Boy - 9  5/8 ounces. He has white on his muzzle, chest and some toes.

Purple Girl - 9  5/8 ounces. Guardian Home candidate at this time.

Red Boy - 7  3/8 ounces. Has white patch on nose, chest and some toes like his brother.

Green Boy - 6  1/2 ounces

I will also be choosing one of the black boys to add to my program for a possible future stud. At this time, I have a potential guardian family interested. I am seeking a local family for Purple Collar Girl.

Please be aware these pics look much bigger than the actual pups - they are tiny right now! I can't wait for them to grow a bit so pics are more fun to take.  :+)

HAZEL X BO DIDLEY'S LITTER ARRIVED!

There was very little sleep at ADNE's last night. Hazel decided that her litter was to sing 'Happy Birthday' in the wee hours of the dawn, namely, 1 to 4 am. Lots of panting and potty trips outdoors most of the day and evening hours till contractions began just before midnight.

Six little darlings welcomed Friday, March 31, 2017. They are doing well and Hazel still has an appetite of a lumberjack.

Both Hazel and I are very tired and need naps. Hence, tomorrow I will post individual pics of these babies. The two blacks are males and have adorable white markings on their faces, chest and some toes. Two more males are apricot. Both females are apricot.

Hazel has arrived for her maternity stay.

I met up with her guardian this morning - thanks, Jeff!

Once settled in my car, we went to my vet for an x-ray which shows seven puppies! Poor little Hazel is feeling VERY pregnant and it shows.

We took our time having Hazel meet all the girls here at ADNE and she has acclimated well. Her whelping area is ready and now we wait. :+)

Hazel's coat is so soft and silky. She does show her pregnancy from the rear!

Has side belly bulge, too!
Still panting and still waiting.........

WEEK SIX FOR DAISY AND KEEFER'S PUPS!

Fully equipped with teeth, nails and attitude, the sixth week is full of wrestling, pulling, climbing and energy.  They still nap as soundly as they play and it is fun to watch them 'collapse' when the need arrives.

Happily, they have all gained a pound or more this week including little Cayman! I also cut their nails again (grows like crazy!) and refilling their water bowl often. Daisy is in full weaning mode and I am only allowing her to nurse morning and evening - otherwise, the gate is closed. When she interacts with them during the day, I put her in a 'Onsie' to prevent the pups from being able to nurse. In a few days, she won't need the it as her milk supply will be very much depleted.

I have scheduled their Temperament Test for April 5th.

Lastly, their pick up date will be Sunday, April 23 at 1:30 pm. Is that a problem for anyone? Please be sure you read my contract and warranty and also go to the AnnaBlog and look for the Pup Supply label on the right-hand side. Don't buy everything! Do be sure to order the Snuggle Puppy though!

Bindi - 4  3/4 lbs.  Chuck full of energy! Doesn't like the vacuum.

Wyatt - 6  3/4 lbs. Still a chill and low key boy.

Cayman - 3  1/2 lbs. Not at all bothered by the vacuum, likes to climb and loves visiting; but not the eye drops so much.

Bindi staking her claim to Mr. Lion as I clean.

Wyatt likes the very same spot and he and Bindi keep taking turns.  He is almost asleep!

Cayman has patience and now has Mr. Lion all to herself!
