Pups are back home and doing well.

Naturally, they still feel sleepy after the anesthesia but after a small nap, they all be ready to have a small meal.

They were good patients and had lots of cuddles while recuperating - I love my vets!

Frankie was happy to rejoin with his siblings.
Some of you may feel that the pups are going home too soon after surgery but it is the best course of action.  If left here, they will wrestle, run and be too busy which is not good for the surgical site.  They would also be miserable if I crated them all day, so recuperating from their surgery with you is a prime way for them to bond, have loads of attention, get some supervised low key exercise and adapt to their new surroundings.  They heal very quickly but it is best to keep them 'low key' for about seven more days.  Yes, they can walk and even run but jumping is a no-no as well as excessive running.  This is the very best time to teach them sit, down and proper leash walking.  Have your treats ready!

Frankie Bing.

I went back and forth and back and forth about whether or not to add this boy to my program.  It wasn't just his blue, blue Frank Sinatra/Bing Crosby eye color but his phenomenal temperament that finally won me over.  Plus, I have to be honest, I LOVE scruffy coated dogs and always have!

Although most people gravitate to the purchase of a doodle because they are allergy friendly, I wanted to breed them because of their 'funky' looks and great personality.  The fact that most shed very little if at all was a bonus but not my reason for breeding them.

Frankie and his littermates went to the vets today.  Frank had his vaccine, well check and microchip inserted and returned home with me while his buddies stayed behind for their surgeries.

Doesn't he look somewhat sad?

With this beseeching look, I had an idea.
I asked Frankie if he would like to play with the little pups.  I think he said Yes'!

Frankie is so gentle and enjoyed spending some time with the 'babies'.

I am hopeful Frankie will be a stud for ADNE in about a year.  Like Wyatt, his minimal shedding is not an issue for me at all.  Most customers of mine want a well tempered doodle above anything else and this boy has that in spades.  It didn't hurt that his momma, Clary, is about as friendly as any doodle on the planet!  :+)

PINK GIRL IS NOW SOLD.

SOLD!  PINK GIRL is now available in the Clary x Wyatt litter.  I was going to keep a female from this litter for a guardian home but changed my mind and kept a male - hence, she is available.

Here are some highlights regarding Pink from my trainer:

  • She is neither shy nor highly social.  Pink is more 'cat-like' in personality whereas she likes people but does not always need to be attached at the hip.  She needs a good leader that she will respect.
  • This is not a doodle for young children who want a cuddle bug, Pink is a much better fit for teens, adults or retirees as she has a dose of independence.
  • Pink is friendly to people but does not feel the need to meet and greet everyone that comes into her circle.  She is perfectly happy watching and smelling her environment; playing gently with a toy and perhaps enjoying the family cat.
  • This pup will need some support when loud noises occur but she recovers well and is resilient in most settings.  I certainly would not take her to fireworks or parades.
  • She prefers being with her familiar humans.  Her amazing eye contact is usually from a short distance as she does not need to be touching you to show her connection to you.
  • Having another dog or even a cat would benefit Pink as both interest her.
  • Strangers or guests should call Pink to them for petting but don't force her if she is unwilling. Offering her a treat typically will change her mind.
  • Pink Girl would enjoy nose work classes or tracking games for entertainment.
Please email, call or send in an application noting Pink on the Subject line if interested.  Pics and more info is on the Home Page of my website.  She is available for an approved home beginning Aug. 3rd.  Please respect and understand the info presented above when you contact me.  She is not the kind of pup that 'one size fits all'.  I am looking for a pet owner that will make her content and loved.

OMG! It is WEEK SIX for the Gunny x Boomer babes!

They really have not grown much as I am always comparing them to the giants that surround their fenced area every day!  :+). They have gained weight as their appetites are good and they seem very content.

They like their little play area and take naps and eat outside every day it is nice - which have been quite a few lately!  Soon they will be enjoying the big play area once their cousins' go to their homes. they won't know what to do with so much space.  :+)

This morning, I added a large turf-like mat to the space.  It is a nice texture for their feet and makes clean up easier on me.  Lugging stones with poop on them in the pail is heavy!  I said to my husband - would you like to cement this area or me get a decent size turf mat?  You know the answer.  :+)

The pups were placed in one of the walled gardens for their pictures today.

Coral is pretty as a picture looking off into the driveway.

Rocky was not as brave as some and did not want to look down.

Coal was very interested in smelling the flowers.

Fudge was investigative and thought about jumping.  He did not.  :+)

Cute as a flower pot, Sky was content to sit and be photogenic.

Flitting from spot to spot, Coffee was totally entertained.

Like a Lioness looking over her brood, Sage gazes intently.

Brave Violet loved having the garden to roam in.
We had two families visit the pups this week and both families and puppies had a wonderful time.  I hope to have more visitors in the coming weeks!

Getting a bit silly around here. (Clary x Wyatt Litter)

Right around this time, I begin to get stir crazy and need some relief.  So, I have some fun with the pups.  The group was just about ready for a nap so I took advantage of the timing and did a bit of 'dressing up' with them for their 8 week pics.

Soon you will be taking your pup home and I sure hope you are getting prepared.  Be sure to read, in full, the Pup Prep Tab on the AnnaBlog - it will be very helpful.  Get your trainer lined up, your vet appointment made (no vaccines, just a stool check and 'Hello') and don't forget to visit a groomer in your area the does doodles well!

Enjoy the pics!

'My name is ROXY PARKS and I have another ADNE sibling waiting for me at home'.

'Doesn't this red bow look divine on me'?  (possibly available)

'Do I do this tie justice, or what'?  My name is BISCUIT SCOTT.

'Really, I am more the bow tie type.  FRANKIE BING HAYES.

'PUHLEESE tell me there is not a cabbage on my head!'  (probably placed, not 100% yet)

WE ARE FIVE WEEKS OLD! Gunny x Boomer Litter.

They are growing but so small compared to the Clary litter!  They almost look like animated toys.  :+)

Early this week, I added a grate to their potty box as a 'new' texture for them to experience.  Also, they have had a gruel to lap up which they did with glee!  Today, I added pulverized and soaked kibble along with warmed Goat's Milk to their diet and they love it.  It is more filling and I am hoping that the drain on Gunny will be lessened.  Three meals a day is now the norm and this will help Gunny begin weaning.

Some have asked about the types of coats the pups will have so each pic has a description.

Next on the agenda is for them to explore the small outdoor pen in the pup play-yard.  I need to clean it up with bleach first and let it dry.  One of today's tasks!

I still see a lot of hesitation or eager exploration from this group.  Off course, that will change once they are outdoors and have more stimulation and exposure to our environment.  I also see wagging tails to familiar voices and gentle hands.  I must say, they are on a huge learning curve at this time.

Sage Girl will have a curly fleece coat.  She is a Caramel.

Fudge Boy will have a wavy fleece coat.

Rocky Boy will have a curly fleece coat.  He is also Caramel.

Sky Girl will have a wavy fleece coat.  I believe she will be a Caramel but her nose is still confused about her pigment

Violet Girl will have a curly fleece coat.

Coral Girl is a wavy fleece coat.

Coal Boy is a wavy fleece coat.

Coffee is also a wavy fleece coat.

Green Collar Male is available for purchase. SOLD!

UPDATE:  GREEN BOY is now known as Frankie Bing after two well known singers with beautiful blue eyes - Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.

-----------------------

Affectionately called 'Ol' Blue Eyes' like Frank Sinatra, Green Collar Boy is looking for a home that does not have any allergies and does not mind a little bit of shedding.

If you like the looks of an Irish Wolfhound or Tramp, this guy fits the bill.  He does NOT have a soft, fluffy coat but neither is it stiff like wire.  As far as the shedding - when you have him on your lap, you will see some hairs on black pants.  When you pat him, no hair is on your hands or accumulates down by his hind end.  You can pull some of it off if you try.

His personality is gentle, compliant, submissive to other dogs and wants to be your companion.  He is not needy; nor is he aloof or independent.  A more quiet home that will introduce him to new places, objects and people would be ideal.

Some pics of him at various stages of growth.  He will be about 35 lbs. at maturity and around 18 inches.

If interested, please email me.  An application is required.  He is my normal pet price of $2,750.00. Visits are welcomed as long as I have an application.  Ol Blue Eyes is available to be picked up on August 4th at 11 am.
