Poor Shilo had to have four baby teeth removed today!

Sometimes 'baby teeth' just hang on and on and when this happens, they need to be removed so the poor baby doesn't have pain or complicate the mature teeth coming through.

I knew that two of them needed to be taken out but it actually was four!  The vet techs at Broadview simply adore her and she had lots of cuddles while there today.

She is now home and happy to see her friend, Diesel.

Shilo LOVES to give kisses hence her image is a bit blurry.

There was not a person, dog or cat Shilo did not want to meet and greet - what a social butterfly!  :+)  She is ready for a new home!

Cute as a button (and just as small)

Well maybe not THAT small but 12 lbs. is pretty small for a pup - I expect Shilo to be about 18 lbs. or so at maturity.

So, if a family with older children (over 10 yrs.) or an adult, is looking for a friendly, smart, furry 'kissy - face' type companion, you need to meet this little girl.

Added benefits:

  • Shilo generally goes potty outdoors on command.
  • She loves the water and has been in a boat, on a paddle board and rides well in a car.
  • She walks well on a leash and has basic commands.  She has confidence.
  • Shilo sleeps through the night, so you are well beyond the 'early' puppy stage.
  • She is perfect for those that travel by air, water or land.
  • Her coat is a lovely slightly curly fleece that is soft, silky and non-shedding.
  • Those that might be interested should have owned and trained dogs in their past.  She is too smart for newbies UNLESS they have a great trainer at their side to guide them.
  • She also likes cats! Probably because they are more her size.  :+)
Please contact me via phone or email which is on the bottom of all pages of my website.  Thanks.

Paddle boarding!

Oh my, do these two enjoy each other! Updated pic of Shilo.

Boy Diesel and my re-home, who I have nicknamed 'Shilo', are having the best time together.  Take a look at these photos!

I don't even know where Shilo begins and ends.  She is a Gumby!!  :+)

'Catch me if you can' shouts Shilo!

Wrestle, wrestle, wrestle.

They do enjoy each other.

Shilo 'dances' around Diesel.

Thanks mom!  I love having a friend to chase!  XX Diesel looking for a local guardian home.

Shilo and Diesel have completely different structures.  Shilo is VERY fast and turns on a dime!

Diesel is thick, rugged - built like a tank.  More Lab for sure expresses in him.

Shilo is for sale to an adult household who has experience and confidence with dog training in a positive manner.

Since I had a single pic of Diesel, I added one of Shilo today.

She has the head tilt down pat!!

Re-home AVAILABLE NOW!

According to her previous owner, she does really well with other dogs and even cats!  Loves people, is friendly and outgoing.  She has been boating, paddle boarding, loves the water, rides well in a car, great on a leash but not house broken yet.  She sleeps in a crate from about 9 pm to 7 am with no complaints or accidents.  Shilo is an engaging pup.  She may be too much for a family with very young children as she views them as siblings rather than 'owners'.  She will take their toys and not return them.  Young children cannot be trained well enough to understand 'dog language' which is why I want to place Shilo with older children who will attend obedience classes and learn how to properly train and learn how to be good caregivers.

This pup will only be available to an home with older children that has dog experience and will continue training as she thrives on the attention and challenge.  Shilo is VERY loving, smart and playful and will do best with a confident and experienced owner who enjoys this type of personality.

If you feel you have the time to continue her training protocol and are looking to add a very smart and willing learner who has a lovely, non shedding fleece coat to your home, please send in an email with 'Re-Home' in the subject line.  My application can be filled out on-line or downloaded and hand written, scanned and attached to an email.

Today, she has been playing pretty non-stop with my available Guardian Home boy, Diesel.  They are getting along great and are even sharing a very special toy that came with my re-home.  I also was able to do a bit of grooming with no issues whatsoever on this wee girl.

She is an adorable lil sprite who gives lots of kisses!

What a perfect day!

I had been waiting for some time to have a sunny, warm day to rake the leaves and pine needles that are all over the pup yard and deck areas.  TODAY was it!

Diesel and I spent almost the entire day, stacking some of the play-yard toys into their 'winter' areas and putting stuff away.  Then I raked and raked.  Diesel loved watching the rake go back and forth.  Every now and again, I would throw a ball and ask Diesel to sit or do 'down' and he complied because he knew I had treats.  Every time he jumped up, he was told 'no' and asked to sit again for the treat (which was a Cheerio).

After all was stashed and done, I think Diesel was quite tired.  He was eager to get comfortable on the  bench swing.  Smart boy.  :+)

Updated pics of Diesel.

What a guy!  My husband just commented this morning on how much Diesel has grown and he has!  A solid as can be pup.  When you pick him up, he really settles and all his weight is on you.  He is very trusting that you will not drop him.  He loves snuggling on the couch with me in the evenings after everyone has been fed, including us.  Happily lies with you even if you put a blanket on him - he is like a furry bottle warmer.

Diesel has a lovely, non shedding coat that feels so silky and soft.  I am still working with him on training.  He knows his name, sit and come.  We are working on 'Leave it', 'Stay' and 'Down'.  I love that he generally (not always) sits to greet people, it is only when they stop patting him that he tries to jump on them as if to say 'don't stop'!

He is fed three times a day and sits before the bowl is put down - he loves to eat and is very food motivated, so makes for an easy pup to work with.  He has not started barking yet and I hope to keep it that way although all my adults here make up for it!!

I am happy to have visitors here to meet Diesel for a possible guardian home opportunity.  In these pics taken today, he is 12 1/2 weeks old.  Sleeps in his crate well and is also very good at having 'settle time' when you need to do something.  He is a good car rider and his temperament is engaging, friendly and welcoming.  He plays well with friendly dogs.
