JONNIE CACHE'S X-RAY SHOWS 8 PUPPIES!

Man o man am I so happy!  They all look good in there according to my vet.  :+). Now we have to wait for the big day.  In the meantime, Jonnie is doing well.  She is eating her meals, going outdoors for some fresh air and cuddling with me on the couch and my bed.  I swear I run a dog 'B & B'!

Here are some pics of the 'preggo' momma to be.  :+)

Jonnie always like to do 'her business' on top of the snow.

You can see her belly 'pop' in this photo.
A better shot of those babies! Like I said, 'spaghetti and meatballs'!

Getting close!

Jonnie's guardians are already missing their girl and she is not even here yet!  It happens all the time.  It is hard for them when birthing time is coming near.  I totally understand which is why I give my guardians much latitude about visiting the new momma and her pups.

I expect Jonnie to be here on Wednesday, January 20th for her maternity stay.  On Thursday, January 30th, she will have her x-ray to check on pup sizes and placement.  Most of the time, it looks like a plate of spaghetti and meatballs!!  :+)

Once back home, I will get Jonnie settled in the whelping pool and coax her to 'visit' it often during the day.  During the birth process, most dogs seek a quiet, dark, 'safe' place to have their babies.  This is under my desk in the office.  There is a half door that prevents any other doodle from accessing the area and Carl and I are in and out multiple times during the day.  I am sure Jonnie will be sleeping with me in my bed until the pups arrive as that is what she is use to at home.  :+)

Soon, I will be posting pics of the newborns!!

With whistles and bells, 'HOBBS' has joined our stud family!

ADNE Force of Hobbit lovingly called 'HOBBS', has passed all of his testing beautifully and I am tickled to death that 'little Hobbs' will be in our future.

Hobbs - 7 weeks.
I so wanted to keep back a male from the Daisy x Thaddeus litter and this little guy just kept growing on me.  He wasn't the cutest pup - he just had 'something' that I knew was special.  My hope was that he would have the sweetness of Daisy and carry the conformation, color DNA and fabulous coat of his daddy, Thad.

Well, I hit the jackpot! :+) Living close by, his guardian family has a menagerie at their home that keeps Hobbs both entertained and busy! He travels with them everywhere and is welcomed by all he meets.

--------------------------------------------------------------

WORDS FROM HIS GUARDIANS:

'A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.' - Josh Billings.  Force of Hobbit, aka Hobbs, is one of those dogs that prove this statement true.  The care and knowledge of his breeder shine through in his temperament and his looks and we've enjoyed watching his personality develop as a cherished member of our family.

Since he was coming into a household with three other dogs (one intact Mastiff of 165 pounds and two quirky Jack Russell Terriers), four horses, pigs and an assorted flock of chickens and ducks, we had to be sure that Hobbs could fit into our somewhat complicated family dynamic.  Turns out that he was just what the doctor ordered!
Baby Hobbs with Brick

He's best friends with the gentle mastiff; respectful of the elder terrier; and takes no guff from our aggressive little 'terrier-ist'.  And in his travels as our business's unofficial mascot, he's never met a dog he didn't get along with.  He'll offer a friendly sniff to the horses and he doesn't chase the chickens - unless they are 'accidentally' in his path when he's running.

Hobbs is highly food-motivated and trainable, but does have selective hearing when he's in really deep 'concentration'.  He loves to travel and meet new people and he behaves beautifully for the groomer.
6 months.

Hobbs is a striking dog.  We can't take him anywhere without being stopped so people can stroke him and look into his soulful eyes.  His beautiful coat doesn't shed a hair and when you scoop him up for a hug, he settles his soft body right into yours like he belongs there.

If you gather a group of children around Hobbs, he quietly enjoys their attention without jumping, biting or licking.  While he is always joyful and happy, he is not overly excitable.  He could stay outside all day long - sometimes just sitting and sniffing the breeze and he'll *usually* come when you call him inside.

Everyone who meets this precious dog loves him and, most importantly, in our home, Force of Hobbit brought "order to the galaxy".

A terrific link for those of you with children that want a dog so badly.

Learning dog signals is critical for a successful companion.  Remember BOTH you AND the pup need to be comfortable with each other.

Update on Sadie & Boomer.

Under a gorgeous blue sky but cold temperatures, Ms. Sadie Benz and Okie Boomer met at the 'honeymoon suite' at my vets.  Because the guardian for Boomer had a very important appointment that she had to leave for at 11 am, I made the decision to have Boomer collected and Sadie artificially inseminated with his VERY fertile sperm (BILLIONS OF THEM!).  This process is quicker than a 'natural tie' which can sometimes take 40 extra minutes on top of all the 'pre' mating shenanigans!  Keep in mind, I did the very same thing with the Jonnie x Duckie mating and Jonnie is carrying a large litter!

Around February 5th, Sadie will have an ultra sound to confirm if she is pregnant.  I am holding off adding more applications to her list UNLESS you don't mind being put on the Wait List.  I already have six applications in her file.  Remember, I don't ask for deposits - only a filled out application, so you have nothing to lose.

Sadie looked great and hopefully will be 'blooming' soon.  :)

Jonnie's litter is filling up quickly!

To be fair to everyone inquiring with phone calls and emails, you are only placed in her file once I receive an application.  You are under NO obligation but I need to be clear that only an application takes a spot on her list.  Yes, I will have a Wait List file as a back up in case one must drop out for one reason or another.

I am also referring people to Marci of Tango Wool (Mass.) and Mary Pat of Nestlewood (NH) and also Sonali of Cornerstone Labradoodles in Maryland to inquire for a puppy as they have litters coming up as well.  :+)
