IMPORTANT DATES:

I have several dates that I would like those purchasing a pup from the SADIE X BOOMER LITTER to place on your devices or calendars.

If anything should change, I will update but otherwise, this is the rundown:

  • APRIL 30 - Temperament Testing.  Please note that I will not have the write ups until after the weekend.  When I call you with your assigned pup, I will need the following:  a NAME (be prepared for a male or a female!).  Your balance of $2,250 will need to be sent to me.  I need it to arrive by May 7th, so be sure to get it in the mail to my address on the website.  If I do not receive it by May 7th, I will call you to make other arrangements.  If it truly does not matter to you which pup you will be assigned, you can send the balance any time now.
  • MAY 4 - This litter has been scheduled for an eye exam, but it could be cancelled if there are still restrictions from COVID 19.  My last litter was cancelled much to my disappointment.  I like to provide this extra service but it is not in my hands to control.  :+(  The pups will also be seeing my regular vet for their vaccines and Health Certificates at 8 am that morning.  Lots of traveling for me and them this day!
  • MAY 7th - They will be back at my regular vet for their surgeries.  They will be at the vets for most of the day.  Trust me, they will be coddled and carried around and snuggled like babies from the staff.
  • MAY 9th - is PICK UP DAY!  Still not sure if it will be curbside, like the last litter or if we can have my discussion meeting.  If the weather is nice, I can set up chairs outside in the Pup Yard or Front Yard 6 feet apart if that works for everyone.  Time will be determined later.
I hope this post will be helpful to you for planning.   :+)  Joyce

HAPPY EASTER!

We are very lucky, we got to spend Easter with our daughter and family.  I know most of you are wondering why we would take the risk, but all of us are healthy and there are no cases of COVID in either of our areas.

We hunted for Easter eggs, had fun watching our grandson figure out a poem to find prizes hidden in the house and enjoyed a turkey dinner together.  It was a great time and I am ever grateful we were able to enjoy the weekend.

Our daughter's family, along with my mini hopeful, Skye, are blessed to enjoy Easter Sunday, 2020 together.  This will certainly be the year to remember and we are thankful all of us are healthy and looking forward to the end of this virus scare.

I hope many of you were able to hold family dear and enjoy this wonderful day.  :+)

SADIE X BOOMER LITTER AT FIVE WEEKS!

First, HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!  :+)

This is a magical week of age.  The teeth are not fully out yet, they are beginning to play with each other, they are weaned from their mommy and enjoying eating gruel.  Company is coming for play time and my house girls get to visit with them as well.  A huge development curve happens at this time.

They do wake me up early clamoring for food but have waggy, waggy tails when they see me with their bowl.  Once full, they come outside their pen to play in the room with me and then go back in for a nice nap.  Life is good in spite of this virus!!

If the weather gets a bit warmer, they will be going outdoors into the small pen for outside exploration.  Once they are a bit bigger, they will have the whole turf yard to themselves!  They really enjoy all the puppy/kid equipment and especially the 'woodsy' area.

So much to look forward to!

Miss Iris - gentle like her mom and grandma.
Miss Bluebelle aka 'Fat Alice'.  :+)
Rocky, still the only male but he makes himself noticed.
Miss Copper, still keeping her sable markings.
Miss Raven, so sparkling and shiny!
Miss Fern, a gentle spirit.  Will probably favor her mommy in color.

I had to repost these pics because I lightened them up so you could view them better.  :+)

Sadie and Jim

Sadie came by this morning to nurse her pups and the guardian daddy asked 'I hope she is coming back home today'.  Yes, Jim Sadie will be back home when you return from work.  :+)

She was very happy to be free of her 'milk jugs' till tomorrow morning.  :+)

Sadie would not leave Jim alone as he worked in his garage. yesterday.  Think they are close?  :+)

Sadie goes for an 'overnight'.

Sadie's guardians came today to take her home for a few hours but I suggested she stay overnight to see how she does away from the pups.  Her babies are eating gruel and are quite content.  Her family would love to have her home for Easter and if she does well, that could be a possibility.

I had begun the weaning process early this week and some mommas transition very quickly while others take more time - it is all up to each mom.  I will hear from Sadie's guardian tomorrow morning and we will make a decision about the next step after that.

This morning, Willis, my choc/wht. parti girl that is an 'old maid' jumped in the pen and Sadie joined her.  Sadie was like - 'hey, you want to take over, be my guest!'  It was really funny.  Then I let the pups out to walk around the room for exercise and Daisy came in and was licking them and wagging her tail.  She laid down for a minute and the pups tried to nurse - Daisy quickly got up with a 'no milkbar open here' look on her face.  There is no lack of entertainment here.  :+)

Obviously, Sadie had no qualms about Willis joining in.

I think the pups were a bit confused though.  :+)

Our first visitors!

The Sadie x Boomer pups did amazingly well for their first time out of the pen meeting new people!  I was very much surprised and delighted as many times, the four week old visit meets with some shy or 'scared' pups.  As I say over and over, each pup has their own time line for developing their confidence and I respect that.  This week, Mr. Rocky was all wags and greetings while his sisters enjoyed the gentle petting and holding, he was all over the place looking for attention and being very, very cute about it.  Maybe he thinks because he is the only male, he MUST be special.  :+)

Blakely enjoying snuggling with the sleepyheads.

Doug making friends with two young ladies.

More pats.

How do you relieve stress?  Snuggle with puppies.

REVOLVING DOORS!!

It did not take me too long to clean up the Pup Room once Jonnie's pups were picked up today and get the little guys all settled in.  Thankfully, the move was pretty darn smooth and they enjoyed checking out their new space with some toys to explore.

I was surprised at how quickly they 'called it home'.  :+)

Here is Daisy saying 'Hello' to the little ones.

Checking out the new potty box and managing the wire grate really well!

The water bottle looks very interesting to Copper girl.

Checking out the 'bedrooms', the 'living space' and the 'bathroom'.

Room to wrestle!

The ''exercise' machine.

'This ball is fun'!

Won't be long at all before all of them run up this little slide and climb down the other side.

Yep, I think they are happy.  :+)
