Nice to have some 'time off'.

I still can't get off my 'puppy mode' schedule.  Just as I begin to settle in, I start planning for the next litter arrival.

Brinkley is due here around Sept. 11th., after her X-ray is done.  I have a few more days before puppy watch begins again.  :+)

CLARY X HOBBS puppies are home with their families.

I was so thankful for a lovely day that was not too hot and steamy.  I had set everything up outdoors for the seven families coming and it worked out great.

Here are some pics of this fun day!

PICK UP DAY IS COMING VERY QUICKLY!

Here are some things to go over (again!):

  • Safe guard your home - plugs, computer wires, cell phone chargers, your favorite sandals and shoes.
  • Have your food ready and if it is not Bixbe Rawbble, you will see some poop changes until their tummies adjust.  Don't freak out and call your vet because of soft diarrhea type poops UNLESS you see blood in it or it lasts for more than two or three days.  Explosive, watery diarrhea is a different story and you need to see a vet asap as this can cause dehydration.
  • Be sure to feed three times a day until about 6 months!  Follow the directions on the bag and adjust as needed, reduce if too fat; add if you can feel bone-y ribs.  Right now, they are all plump.
  • Have your vet check appointment done and bring in a stool sample.  I have done two samples already and they were both clear with no parasites.
  • Expect your pup to cry at night for a couple of days, they have just left all their siblings and the only home they have known.
  • Don't smother your pup with love, they need some space too.  Don't force affection on them when all they want to do is have a nap!  Put yourself in their place!
  • Get on a puppy socialization class, they need to be with their kind to learn dog language and respect; think about a day care class once a week so they adjust to new places, other dogs and people - so important for their development.
  • READ the Contract & Warranty - You will sign it when you come on Saturday.
  • The pups need another 6 days for healing from the surgeries, so be sure to keep them from jumping off couches or any height.  They are full of themselves, so will be active but prevent them from jumping onto or off things.  A great time to teach them leash walking with treats.
  • Talk to your trainer and have that plan all set.
I am sure there are many more but I am here for any questions.  :+)

Posted a video of the pups on ADNE's FB Page.

This is the morning after surgeries.

They are in one of my outside pens where they can't get into any dirt to hopefully keep the incisions clean.  :+)

They are such an energetic bunch!!

Here you go! WEEK 9 Clary x Hobbs

Sorry people!  It has been a crazy busy day and I still have to give the pups baths yet.  I think hubby will be having leftovers tonight - no time to make dinner!!

Here are the pics with a bit of info:

Rudy - Sensitive boy that needs human support to build confidence.

Eli - highly social but sensitive boy.  A big sniffer!

Indigo - The EXPLORER! Lots of energy, overly confident and will require an experienced family or he will rule the household.  Will chase critters if not properly trained.

Petunia - Social, agreeable and tolerant.

Robin - Prefers playing fetch, tug and following his nose to cuddling. Confident and energetic.

Marigold - Somewhat shy and prefers to be with familiar people.  Will need human support in new environments.

Poppy - Social, energetic and playful.  Will chase critters and cats unless trained well!
Off to the baths now.  :+)

SUCCESS!

Happy news this morning with regard to my first experience with using frozen semen from Mr. Emmett Picollo!  Yes, Brinkley is pregnant and with a bountiful litter to boot!

Today's ultra sound showed roughly nine embryos!  Obviously, Emmett's frozen sperm was very healthy & vigorous and Miss Brinkley's eggs were perfectly ripe.  Good news all around.  :+)  Kudos to my very experienced vets for doing such a great job.  Another feather in their reproduction cap!

I have contacted all the applicants in Brinkley's file.  If any have dropped out, I will then go through the applications in my Wait List file for those wanting medium size doodles.

Won't be long before ADNE will be welcoming another bunch of cuties.

Wagon o' pups!

We went for another ride today.  The pups had their full vet exam for their Health Certificates AND their first Distemper and Parvo Virus Vaccine.

Another excellent ride in the car and lots of admiration once inside my vet facility.

A pic of them at my vets outdoors waiting our turn.  :+)

There is always one that is hiding.  :+(
