The boys go home, I miss them already :+(

Well it is awfully quiet around here without the boys wrestling and running about getting things started. The girls are a bit confused but adapting well. :+) They liked the fact that they had their own lunch bowls and didn't have to rush to gobble the food down. Lulu Belle will be here one more week and then Gretta will have to mesh into our lifestyle until I decide what to do with her - keep or sell. I am in no rush and neither is she. :+)

Our Green Giant, Ralphie will be a wonderful addition to the Lynch family. I know Peter will want to get him to play ball as soon as possible and Daddy seems to have bonded with him from the getgo.

Ledley (Black Collar) will keep his happy owners quite busy with his antics and they will get lots of exercise bringing that boy up and down 3 flights of stairs for a while. Good luck!!

Tuck (Stripe) will give lots and lots of kisses and cuddles to his new family. A more sweet temperament will be very hard to find. A perfect fit for this family. :+)

Kids and their puppy - like peanut butter and jelly - it is the perfect combination. I am sure Jasper (Blue) will provide lots of laughs, steal many slippers and have lots of attention.

I sure hope when any of you are near these parts, that you will let me know and come by for a 'look-see'. I adore it when I can see my puppies growing up.

  1. Jasper had a great ride home to CT.....no accidents! He is quite the playful explorer, and loves to run around the yard chasing after the girls or a ball or a leaf. He also enjoyed drinking water out of the tulips, which was quite a site. What a friendly puppy - his tail is always wagging and he is eager to please. We've been practicing "sit" and "come," and he's doing a great job on both. He whined a little last night, but after he settled down actually had a good night's sleep. I think he was tuckered out!

  2. Jasper is SO cute and lovey. But when he squeaks and whines, does mean he is crying or he wants something?

  3. Hi!

I just had sent you an email for an update! I am glad to hear the ride home went well - I was a bit concerned about that. Yes, he is an explorer and there is so much to see and taste and catch in the world at his eye level!

It is good that he did rather well with his first night in his new home. Things will only get better. Please give him a hug and kiss from me. :+)

  4. Hi Noah,

I think it means he is not sure of where he is. It will take a bit of time for him to realize your home is where he will stay. Plus, he could be missing his siblings. Not to worry, it will pass. :+)

  5. Ledley whines when we leave the room -- I don't think he's used to being alone.

He also whines when his stuffed toucan doesn't play with him.

Speaking of the toucan, he also likes to try to nurse on it which is interesting and kind of heart breaking.

But he's an explorer as well and cannot get enough of the smell of the big world.

  6. Ledley needs to learn that it is okay for you to not be in the same room with him. Leave for a few minutes and then return WITHOUT a bunch of fanfare. Do not return and immediately pay attention to him. Come back into the room and take a sip of water, or flip a few pages of a magazine and THEN ask him to come to you or pat him.

Do this over and over increasing the amount of time that you are not in the room until you going back and forth does not make him whine when you are gone.

Dogs have no conception of time. It does not matter if you are gone for 30 seconds or 30 minutes. How you handle it now will determine how he will handle separation in the future. It will be difficult, but he will be a much more content dog in the future if you deal with this now. :+)
