Oh Nellie! UPDATE: The good news is there are six pups according to her x-ray! The bad news is that there are too many applications.

Today Nellie Bly was dropped off for her maternity stay. Tomorrow is her x-ray appointment to see how many she is carrying - any guesses???? She looks rather 'porky'! Her belly is very low, so whelping should be quite soon. Will post here what her x-ray says.  :+)

UPDATE:  Although six pups are what we see, sometimes one is hiding but not often. If all goes well with the delivery, this means the following people are on her list for a pup:

  • D. Roy
  • L. Hallinan
  • P. Ogonowski
  • H. Paul
  • N. Fiore
  • A. Starzec
The rest of the applications will be on a Wait List. If more pups are presented, you will be contacted. If not, your application will be added to the next litter produced (Tate's) but there are no guarantees as her list has several applications already. Please note that I will contact one of the Wait List applicants if a pup is passed on for one reason or another once born.

If waiting is not possible, I suggest you research other breeders that may have pups sooner.

I know most vets insist on Heartworm prevention, but the link provided below is interesting....

I feel it is always good to provide my customers with opinions of other professionals in the veterinary field. Heartworm is something I do NOT give to my six Labradoodles that live with us. We have ten acres - much of it woods housing deer. There is a pond, pool and swampy areas all around us. In May and October, I have my doodles tested with the 4DX test as a precautionary measure.

Keeping the immune systems strong in my doodles by incorporating both traditional and holistic methods has been successful for almost 14 years.  It is my belief, the raw diet, usage of minimal vaccines and avoidance of most chemical agents has been a very important part of their continued health.

Great visitors.

I have had two WONDERFUL families come to ADNE to visit my program and Labradoodles this week. It is always fabulous to meet potential future owners. It makes me feel so fortunate to have buyers who care about where their pup will come from and ask excellent questions regarding my reasons for doing 'this or that'. This shows me they are researching on the Internet, reading the AnnaBlog and willing to take the time to check out the facility that will hopefully provide them with a puppy.

It is my hope that my pregnant girls will have enough pups for them all! Thanks for visiting!

We have confirmation that Tate O'Reilly is also pregnant. :+)

Before we left to visit our son's family in Pennsylvania, an ultra sound was done on Tate and showed several puppies growing! Her estimated due date is Sept. 10th which is about a week after Nellie's are due. What a lovely time of year to welcome pups!   :+)

Both litters will be going home around the first two weeks in November so those on their lists need to plan accordingly.

Two potential future breeders were playing together today.

Hannah, the black and white parti Labradoodle and Gunny, my chocolate Cockapoo enjoy each other's company often.  I love to watch them play. Sometimes they ignore each other and other times, they play very hard - leaping, jumping, chasing, and diving through tunnels; and then collapsing to re-charge and do it again.  :+)

Tongues are hanging out most of the time from all that running and water intake!

It is an exciting job to watch your babies growing up. Hopefully, testing will go well and we will see what these two bring to the ADNE program in a year or so. Lots of patterns including parti, abstracts and phantoms.

Nellie is indeed pregnant!

Her expected date of delivery is September 3rd but don't hold me to that date! We saw at least 4 on her ultra sound.  :+)

I don't have confirmation just yet....but

Both my guardian homes for Nellie and Tate are stating they are pretty confident the girls are showing signs of pregnancy. I will know if this is true tomorrow for Nellie and next week for Tate. Feeling excited!!
