Ten week pics are up early! :+)

This past week, the pups have really made great strides with regard to 'going' outside. Not 100% but doing so very well! Last night, I even let them loose in the puppy room all night and there were no mistakes - obviously all of them went outdoors through the doggie door when the need arose. In another week or so, I will begin crate training them. Keep your fingers crossed for that to go as well. :+)

Teal Boy will now be known as CODY. This pup has been LONG anticipated. He will most definitely fill their home with 'puppy antics' really soon. 10 1/4 lbs.

Hopefully, Miss Red will be decided on this Saturday. She looks like such a stuffed animal, it is hard to believe she is really a little doggie. I just 'squish' her all the time. 8 lbs.

LILY is the name chosen for Miss Purple. I can't help myself, I keep calling her 'Lilliput' - from a book I read, I think. 10 lbs.

This guy is named BREWSTER! I just have to smile everytime I say it. When I am outside with them I keep calling him 'Brewster, Red Rooster, where are you?' Silly, I know. 9 3/4 lbs.

I AM looking for a local guardian home for FELIX GUMSHOE. I chuckled when the name entered my brain and poor Black Boy is stuck with it. I like names that make me smile. Plus, FELIX was the name of a very famous black cat and he is a rather quiet fellow, so the 'Gumshoe' surname 'fit like a glove'. Perhaps he will become a 'doggie detective' and locate lost cats. :+) 10 1/4 lbs. Sorry about the 'flash', it was needed for definition of his features.

It's official, Green Girl will be named CALLIE (after her great grandmother on mom's side of the family tree). I am sure she will be as beautiful. 11 3/4 lbs.

Just to update on their CERF visit.

Today has been quite busy and I am heading out once again to pick up Miss Dancing Matilda from the vets as she had some testing done today. :+) So the pups have been free of 'big sister' Miss Tillie. She returns to her guardians tonight and the pups will miss her as will I.

The group also went on another car ride to the eye CERF vet this afternoon and did wonderfully in the car. At the Ophthalmologist, they all took naps on the cool tile as he examined each and everyone with excellent results.

Dr. Cassotis was so impressed with their quiet, calm temperaments. :+)

Time is flying! 9 weeks old!!

This past week the pups have had their first 'memorable' ride to the vets, their first shot, been adored by numerous people and had their world expanded with the accessibility to their playground area. Boy do they love exploring their 'new digs'.

They are also tending to seek the stone areas to do their 'business' which I am happy about. We still have mistakes when they are in the kitchen area but that is to be expected for their age.

Today, I took them outdoors to my favorite rocker for their nine week pics.

Black Boy was very perky and comfortable. 8 3/4 lbs.

Blue Boy's pic was changed to this one as I think it is a better shot. He has the silkiest coat of the pups. 8 1/2 lbs.

Purple Girl found the pad quite comfy. 8 3/4 lbs.

Teal Boy enjoyed watching some of our customers go by. 8 1/2 lbs.

Green Girl took it all in like this was 'her spot'. 10 lbs.

Red Girl kept cocking her ears to listen to all the different sounds, like the flag, the cars, the big dogs barking... 6 1/2 lbs.

We now are playing in the playground!

Tillie is visiting and keeping these puppies very busy! They love their playground and are having a blast!

Our vet visit.

Yesterday, we took a ride to the vets for our first DHPP puppy shot. They behaved very well at the vets as he examined all of them. None of them did potty on the floor which was unusual! Just a tiny bit of grumbling as we rode the 40 minutes to the facility. A very nice ride as nobody threw up or pooped. :+) As you can see from the pic, I include potty boxes for their use. Some like to sleep in them as we ride, which is why I include two of them.

Naturally, they were a big attraction as we waited outdoors in the car for our time slot. I should have collected a fee from all the people that said how adorable they were. Only little Red Girl squeaked when she got the needle but she is also my vet's favorite. Who could resist that face anyway?

Pups are in the kitchen a lot now and I am

trying to get them use to thinking about where to potty (which is not in the house!). By giving them plenty of kitchen time, I watch to see when they look like they need to go and guide them outdoors. There were no mistakes this morning which is what I like to see. No, this does not mean they are potty trained. I am just trying to teach them that 'outside' is where they SHOULD go. :+)

Blue Boy is enjoying a chewie.

A lucky shot of Black Boy.

Green Girl lazing about.

Something is of interst to Teal Boy.

Purple Girl loves taking photos.

Miss Red, after a drink of water. I think she got more on her face and head then in her belly!

Dress Up at 8 weeks old!

We had fun playing with the assorted hats in my costume collection. :+)

'Do I look stern enough to be a Policeman?', asks Teal boy. 8 1/2 lbs.

'Just call me 'a cow pokin' Cowgirl!' says Miss Red. 6 1/4 lbs.

'I have a feather on my head, one dangling across my shapely leg and a bit of fluff on my nose for drama', says Miss Green Girl. 9 1/4 lbs.

'Yep! Football is definitely my game!' claims Blue Boy. 7 1/2 lbs.

'Whadaya mean I have to get on the firetruck, I am NOT a Dalmation!' says Black Boy. 8 lbs.

'Yes, indeedie, that is a halo on my lovely head', quotes Purple girl. 8 lbs.

Been sooooo hot!

We have been using the A/C for the pup room pretty routinely of late as the weather has been very, very hot. I also spray their outside pens to keep the stone pavers cool and under their Lil Tykes playgym. I filled a small pool for their amusement as well, so they are not suffering at all!

They play outside and then come into the puppy room to cool down in the A/C and overhead fan bellyup! Very cute. :+)

We are 7 weeks old on the Fourth of July weekend!

Isn't it wonderful to be celebrating the pups seventh week marker on our nation's birthday? I am doubly excited because the weather is soooo perfect for all the parades, fireworks, vacationers and vendors.

The puppies have been having so much fun this week enjoying their small tunnel until it was totally destroyed, using the doggie door like champions, staying cool under the awning outside as well as easing up on biting.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just remember that what I write about these pups is 'an opinion' not a certified assessment. Personalities evolve and change many times over the weeks and environment is a huge factor in how your pup will develop with you through your interaction with them.

Here is the boss lady. Green Girl
is full of confidence and loves being in the middle of everything. An active girl that will enjoy lots of activities but not hyper. 7 & 3/4 lbs.

Red Girl seems to be a very compliant puppy. She does not run up to you right away like the others, but is so content to simply 'wait to be discovered'.
5 & 1/4 lbs.

Teal Boy is a happy, waggly-tailed kind of guy. Always investigating and curious. I find him inside the puppy room resting under the fan while the others are outside. 6 & 3/4 lbs.

Another friendly, 'me, me' pup that loves, loves, LOVES to have his belly rubbed. Black Boy's manner is sweet and easy going. 6 & 3/4 lbs.

Blue Boy enjoys being part of a group. He plays and interacts very well. He is soft without being shy. Seems to simply enjoy life in general. 6 & 1/4 lbs.

Purple, or Lavender Girl, whichever you choose to call her is another middle of the road pup. Easy going but not shy, sweet but not a pushover a very willing participant for belly rubs. I find it rather funny that both she and Black Boy hang around together - almost like twins. 6 & 3/4 lbs.
