Define 'The Good Life'.

Hmmmmmmm, I think having a cook, maid, comfortable clean bedding, numerous 'friends' to watch over you and a doting mother might be a good answer.  :+)

Pearl and Coriander's pups are 3 weeks old and enjoying the holiday decorations.

Fudge Girl is tracking to be the smallest pup in the litter.  She weighs 2 1/4 lbs.
Rainbow Girl is one of the largest at 3 1/2 lbs.  She loves to sleep on her back.
Green Boy appears to be listening for Santa's Reindeer!  2 3/4 lbs.

Blue Boy is full of 'milk and cookies'.  I think a nap is imminent.    3 1/2 lbs.

Camden has joined our family here at Annabelle Doodles!

Yesterday, her guardians and I went to the vets to get Camden x-rayed to see how many pups she may be whelping.  The x-ray showed six!  We are very proud and happy that Camden's mating with our little guy, Percy Jaxon has produced such a perfect number.

Obviously, our 'Inn' is feeling quite full with our 4 doodle pets plus Pearl and her litter; but these babies will not be born outside in a manger.  The comforts of my office will be where our new apricot/white babies will be born.

Jaxon is an apricot Tuxedo marked fellow and Camden carries for the parti gene, so this should be both a colorful and fun litter in mini to medium sizes.  It won't be long (days) before this litter will enter our world.  These pups will be perfect for families with children as both parents are energetic and loving.   List is open.  :+)

Pearl's and Cori's babies.......

You have read that I feel the chocolate pups will favor Pearl in looks and the Iced Caramel's will favor their dad Coriander.  Here are some pics of 'Dash and 'Newman' who are Iced Caramels, fathered by Coriander and had the same coat as the two caramels in this litter.  If you look closely you can see the green/hazel eyes that make this color combo so appealing to many.   Both Dash and Newman have non shedding, great coats.  The pics are of the pups around 6 or 7 months old.

 This  is Dash.

Another shot of Dash.

This one is Newman, Dash's brother of the same litter.

This is the very handsome, Newman at almost two years old.  Expect Pearl's caramel puppies to look like Newman and Dash.  :+)

We moved into the puppy room today at 2.3 weeks. (update)

The comforts of home.
Green Boy is checking out the new digs.
All snug.
Mom visits often and keeps the babes clean as a whistle.
A family pic.  :+)

I kept contemplating when I would make this move as a change of locations can cause some stress now that their eyes are open and they are beginning to see shadows.  However, the new move went smoothly with no distress at all.  Pearl took to the new location effortlessly as well and is quite content to now be able to come and go outside as she pleases using the dogie door.

The pups are in a clothe crate that has webbing on the sides and top so that light filters in.  At night, I will put a blanket over most of it to prevent drafts.  Radiant heating coils keep the floor level nice and toasty.

Update:  This morning the pups were on Pearl's bed, not in the crate.  During the night Pearl must have felt cramped in the crate and decided to move her babies to the 'luxury suite' side of her area.  I found them lounging on Pearl's cushion.  Pearl had to have carried them there because they cannot walk yet.  It was such a surprise for me!  They seem to be quite happy, so I let it be.

Pearl's litter is two weeks old and we are preparing for the holidays.

Hefty, hefty, hefty Rainbow Girl!  I swear she has been eating Bon-Bons!
She is 2.9 lbs. and rising!
Fudge Girl is the smallest of the group at 1.10 lbs.
My plan is to keep this girl for a Annabelle Doodle Guardian Home.
Blue Boy is a linebacker at 2.11 lbs.
No weakling for sure but smaller than his big brother.  Green Boy is 1.15 lbs.

Posted by PicasaAs you can see they have just begun to open their eyes.  They are still quite secluded in my office but will be moving to the puppy room within a few days.  I am in the process of rearranging it to accommodate them.

Certainly the spirit of Christmas has descended along with a touch of snow today.  I love decorating for the season and look forward to family and friends arriving for the holidays.  It will be a busy one here at our homestead.

Piper's first snow at 11 weeks old. (Guardian Home Wanted!)

'Will you please play in the snow with me?'
'I think I can make a snowman'.
'Yup, start with a small ball of snow......... um...tastes good'!

I have begun to take Piper to a Puppy Obedience class for more socialization with people and other animals.  This is very important so that she can continue to be exposed to many sights, sounds and stimulating environments that she is not accustomed to at home.  She has surprised me with her 'braveness' to go up to strangers for pats and cuddles.  I am so pleased to see this - an absolute people magnet.  :+)

She is also attending a puppy class on Saturday mornings to explore the opportunity to make more 'furry' friends.  Today was her first class and she seemed a bit stressed but I am sure with more exposure, she will do just fine.  I was very proud of Piper today.  :+)
