Car rides.

Part of my puppy protocol is to take very young pups (newborn to 10 days of age) on three car rides. A seminar I attended stated that this helps 'imprint' car motion which should deter dogs from getting car sick.  It does not work 100% of the time, but many of my customers claim it has certainly been beneficial.

Nellie's litter had their third car ride today and did extremely well. The first car ride was with their mom for newborn check ups. The second time, I had a couple pups make some squeaking but settled quickly. This time, they were happy to sleep the entire five mile trip.  :+)

  1. Can this be done at a later time, say, at three weeks? (I have a friend who is fostering puppies whose mother won't nurse.)
