Piper and I have been up all night....

One pup has been born, a black male but it is now the wee hours of the morning and there are many more to come and welcome the sun as it rises.  Definitely taking a nap today when this is over!

Will post in order of birth:

  •   4:34 am - Black Male
  •   8:00 am - Apricot Female
  •   8:02 am - Apricot Female
  •   8:35 am - Apricot Female
  •   8:49 am - Apricot Male
  • 10:50 am - Apricot Male
  • 10:58 am - Apricot Female
  • 12:00 pm - Black Male
  • 12:45 pm - Black Male
  •   1:42 pm - Apricot Female (I pray we are finished!)
Some of the apricot pups may deepen to a red but I would rather wait to see if that happens than just call them 'Red' because they could carry the 'Rufus' gene which there is no test for but if one carries it, the apricot color deepens to red.  ADNE's Keefer did this and I had no idea he carried for the Rufus gene.

  1. Aw, Piper missed my birthday by just a few hours. But! Close enough! I will consider these puppies a gift from the universe just for me. I'm looking forward to pictures (after everyone has had a bit of time for recovery).

  3. Wow! What a long delivery process. You both must be exhausted. Happy to see some blacks that I get to watch from afar. Love those sleek, black, shiny, silky coats! These pups will be gorgeous as both of their parents are stunning with such spectacular coats! Well done as usual!

  5. Thanks, Deb S., Roxann, Deb D and Jan. Both of us are doing much better. Piper is dining on a pound of Tripe/Ground chicken/necks dosed with Digestive Enzymes and a high calorie syrup and woofed it down in a blink! Piper is normally a slim, athletic girl and bounced back from her last litter of ten in record time. With two litters of 10, she will have early retirement and be a loving pet. :+)

  6. It’s always so sweet and also full of a lot of fun for me personally and my office colleagues to search your blog a minimum of thrice in a week to see the new guidance you have got.
