UPDATE: RANGER (Blue Boy) has a home (12/26). Thank you to all that inquired about him.

Dec. 24th.  'Can I help with the laundry'?

Sadly, Blue Boy was not comfortable in a city setting and has returned to be placed in a rural home. He will be a small medium (30 lbs.) has a fleece coat with slight waves and will grow to approximately 17 to 18 inches tall.

He is a sensitive boy and would do best with the following:
  • someone at home or can take him to work/retired individuals, active adults, etc.
  • dog experience (has had dogs in the past)
  • sensitive older children would be fine but not younger than 12
  • has patience, Blue Boy needs to overcome his concerns at his pace
  • uses a trainer that utilizes confidence building exercises
  • another friendly dog in the household would be great
  • does well in his crate, car rides and entertains himself with toys easily
  • is cuddly and quite calm - not a barker

Update on 12/26/14:  Fortunately, a family that already has an Annabelle Doodle came to visit but wanted to really make a well thought out decision not a spontaneous one.  With the Christmas holiday, all were too busy with cooking, company and holiday spirit to have the solid piece of time needed.

After calling their trainer and making general inquiries to others of the possible concerns with a somewhat shy/cautious doodle, I was contacted that they did indeed want Blue and his name is RANGER. I was very pleased because this family fit all the criteria above and more. Ranger has received the best Christmas present ever - a loving, patient, lifelong home!   :+)

  1. Oh, how heartbreaking for all concerned! How fortunate, though, that a decision was reached quickly. I have friends who worked with a NJ breeder, and brought home a beautiful Labradoodle. They realized within a few weeks that, despite their best planning efforts and intentions, they would not be able to give this puppy what it needed. They returned the pup to the breeder, heartbroken. And feeling very guilty, and ashamed. But that puppy is now with a lovely family, who can give her lots of time and attention. They did exactly the right thing, though its taken them months to even begin to feel that way in their hearts.

I know you will find this little guy his forever home, Joyce. It can't be an easy decision to return a pup - its probably harder, even, than the decision to bring one into your lives - so I am glad that they recognized so quickly that their lives were not suited to this little guy.

    1. Exactly, Kelly. I give them a lot of credit and applauded their decision. It was good that they realized they ARE ready to have a pup and can deal with the schedule but this pup was not the right one for their location.

I am sure their is a place waiting for him. He is a doll and a very handsome boy. He is just a 'country bumpkin' not a 'city slicker'! :+)

  3. Yay for Ranger and his new family! And for you, too, Joyce, and your tireless efforts to make sure that each and every puppy finds the right home, and each family the right pup :-)

  4. Thank you, Kelly. Responsibility is a BIG part of my job as a breeder and something I value. :+)
