Exploring the horizon!

There is quite a bit going on as of late. We had our first visit with the trainer, Karen, and everyone was pretty pooped out after that. I will not have any info until her second visit coming up on 2/19. At that time, we will sit and discuss placements based on her findings. So, sit tight!

The pic below shows the new 'watering hole' in the pup pen. I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful contraption. It is called a 'Lixit Water Bottle'. It works on the same principle of gravity as gerbil water bottles, but is much larger. I decided to purchase one because the puppy room floor is radiant heated - obviously whatever sits on the floor gets warmed up too! The pups learned to use this system in less than 10 minutes. They always have fresh, cool water at the lick of a tongue! No drips, no spilt water, no splashing, no dirt sitting at the bottom of the bowl....just clean and refreshing water. Here is the link: www.lixit.com Check it out! Can be placed in your dog's crate, or onto the X-pen like I have it.

The next few pics are of mommy, Annabelle, playing with her litter. They now come into the kitchen several times a day for 'playtime'. They love running around chasing each other.

Here, Annabelle is checking out their pup pen and they follow her all over the place. She was most interested in the box I put in for them to explore. They tore into that big time. :+)

They are not trying to suckle on her at all now. She utters a soft 'gutteral' sound while she plays with them. It is so sweet.

As you can see, they seem to just 'hang out'. Did you notice they have different collars? I now make cloth 'covers' that go over their collars to help me (and you) identify them better. Their hair is growing so fast now, that most collars are simply lost in it! These are at least two inches wide. Although the patterns may change, the colors are still the basic ones they were assigned.
